I found this app in Samsung Apps for my Galaxy Note I and it had some really cool features so once I received my Galaxy Note II on October 1st and initially searched SA's to see if they were releasing the app for our Note II's.
Finally on October 16th Samsung finally released version 1.1.1. Be aware this is strictly for the Note II. I searched the entire SGN2 forum(s) to check if this was already posted and I didn't find a thing about it. I also wanted to see if anybody knew what this app is - again I found nothing.
So in the spirit of sharing without DRAMA (this is NOT a necessary app for all you nasty trolls out there who always seem to make rude and absurd comments) this is for all you who enjoy the perks of owning the coolest devices in the world.
I hope this downloads properly but if there is a problem let me know and I'll be glad to send it to anyone who asks. The only problem some of you may have is the size of the download, 86.93MB's. It'll be available on Google Drive within the hour. For those wanting it from Samsung just search "Retail Mode for Galaxy Note 2".
10/30 - UPDATE
I've tried to attach the link to download this app but for some reason I can't post attachments in my XDA Premium. I just posted this app simply because it's cool, fun, and the perfect answer to all those jealous iFanatics. And you will get immature comments and questions from every nosy butthead quizzing you about this BEAST. I don't say a word until AFTER they've seen the demos - actually they still ask if it really does all of that.
The Multi-Window screen shuts them up fast!
Yes, it does change a couple of settings and YES, you can retain the settings you had prior to install. There are a few tutorials videos within the app for those who are the brink of buying or for those who've never used a Galaxy Note before.
I never said it was necessary or needed, again I simply thought/think it's a cool. There was/is an app for the original Galaxy Note which serves the same purpose as this app does for this BEAST.It's just a fun, informative, and cool app to have around when you get those dumb, rude comments out of nothing more than pure jealousy.

Do you mind sharing a link to the file? It's not showing up in my copy of SA
Download Retail Mode for Galaxy Note 2 at Samsung Apps.
Search for “Retail Mode for Galaxy Note 2″.
Install it and enter 5444 as password (Change password if you like)..
Enable service.
And you are ready to show off your powerful Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
Have a FUN!
Nice app but ur post is slightly misleading because you say features. This app is mainly meant as a demo mode interface. So triggering this app causes the note 2 to launch the demo mode (toggled from the app settings by enabling the service) and the device portrays the functionality of the Note 2 just like how u see in a store. So that's what its for. Its fun. But not exactly useful. Thanks for sharing. Cheers.

It's the application that the demo unit runs in store.
It's been around since Samsung Galaxy S1 for each Galaxy S phone (GS1, GS2, GS3) in Samsung Apps Store. I always installed it to show it to my friends
Searched and found this
Code:
[FAQs] Smart Phone : : What is the retail mode for Galaxy S2 in Samsung Apps?
A : It is for use in retail shop only for Marketing purposes –
For Customers: Do not download and install this application.
If this application activated, some functions like as screen lock &
screensaver are removed and it is not possible to restore them.
End-user / Customer does not need this tool. To prevent his use, there is a warning message and a password
setting requirement.
so not sure if that true or not
anyway thanks bro :good:
after i used the retail mode..

i'm not sure what you consider to be cool and please dont take any offence by this reply, but this software is not cool it will **** you phone/tablet up, its used for LDU (local display units)
when you see a tablet/phone in a shop and its flashing through images of what the device can do that this app but it does so much more, blocks the lock screen can block wifi/bluetooth/3g has hunderds of permissions makes itself a device admin and worst of all rests your device every 24hrs
as i said i mean no offence and the only reason i have replyed is i was looking how to unistall this ****ing software and stumbled upon your post, i was sold a tablet with the software hardcoded TRUST ME YOU DONT WANT IT its a ***** to get rid of when its installed
I agree and I disagree!
YES I agree with just about EVERYTHING you're saying, I just wanted to point out that I DID in fact warn those who'd install this on their Note II that settings WERE/ARE overridden after install. I originally thought it was cool because (personally of course) I was able to grab a few images and a screensaver(?) I wanted at the time.
Actually I've grew tired of of Samsung' BORING products since they're all basically the same design theme over and over again plus the .02" screen upgrades aren't on par with the niche' market they created. I wanted a fresh, bold, and INNOVATIVE design I'd be happy with until the release of 4K (TRUE 4K) devices. I didn't/don't use my device as a visual capture tool, or want a device full of proprietary bloatware I'd NEVER use.
Yes sir, I graduated to the true beast of all smartphones/tablets presently available in the market today. Yes the Sony Xperia Z Ultra and it's worth every single penny I paid for it. Yes I know there downsides to owning such a device but I have yet to find any of them - this beast is perfect for ME and will keep me happy until the 4K devices finally are finally released.
But hey, Thanks for the heads of up man, I appreciate it, I sincerely do!

Have spent a fair amount of time on google (and and ddg and bing, just in case google's contractually bound to stfu or anything) searching for a way to circumvent the gestapo tactics employed by at&t to filter us in to being thrilled that they will one day come out with an equivalent system to what google wallet has been offering since 2011, and i haven't found anything for this phone except for 2 people that swore it'd be done that never responded. I want to post this here, where people that tinker thrive.
I realize google wallet isn't a hot issue for most of us.. but for those of us that would like to have it and to get that experience in while the 0$ fraud liabillity extends to cards stored on our phones' memory, i'd like to ask once and for all..
is there a way to get google wallet working on an AT&T htc one? i have seen conclusive accounts of people with other phones having it working.. but through everything except having this number active on another carrier and bringing it over, i have personally not found positive results. in the three days i've been trying, i HAVE gotten gwallet force closing, getting the 'unfortunately, wallet has stopped', message, or getting bored after 5 minutes and doing something else on my phone to see the gwallet has stopped message.
if there's a guide, please post it. otherwise, if anyone has actually gotten gwallet working on AT&T's network (or off with an unlocked number and have goteen it working with at&t) please share it here.
To be honest, it's like at&t has absolute control over what goes through this phone, even when on wifi. at the very least the goal of this thread is to find out conclusively that my data isn't filtered by some master at&t .hosts file somewhere in texas ,but i'd definitely prefer to leave with a working wallet app, so chime in if you know something i dont
always overly appreciative and way too damn generous with the thanks,
me

[Q]: Google Wallet on the One
Sent from my HTC One using Tapatalk 4 Beta
So my ex girlfriend is convinced that I have somehow hacked her phone. (I haven't.) So much so that she drowned an HTC phone and got herself a new Droid Maxx. However she is still having the issues that led her on this paranoid delusion. I am looking for someone to help me explain to her she has not been hacked, or if I am wrong to correct me.
The story starts with her saying that her Facebook app on the phone is acting funny. Yeah the nebulous adjective, funny. When I asked her what does she mean by that she has various performance complaints as well as the app crashing at inopportune times. Setting aside such shaky evidence of somebody hacking a phone (because as you know, one thing a hacker does not want to do is let their victim know that they are inside their phone and thus shutting down the exploits they have already put in place) I am now seeking anyone who knows more about this than I do to help explain what she is seeing so that she stops accusing me of something I am not doing. To make matters worse ex-girlfriend decides to start monkeying around with things that she doesn't understand inside her phone settings and discovers something that I finally find to be odd but can't really explain away.
She went into her old phone (an HTC M8 I believe) account synch settings and sees the Facebook mobile number displayed as not her own. In fact it's not even a proper number. Here is a screen shot from the new phone (my memory says that a very similar result was on her old phone):
(Annnd Dammit since I am a fairly fresh user I cannot post a pic link, if you are trying to help me PM me and I think it'll let me pate you the link)
(Or I can try to put 5 spaces in the link to make it non working and if you have the patience copy it and take the spaces out to go to the screen shot)
http: // imgur.com / Mfba WdE
The number listed is not even a complete number and does not come up in any useful way in Google searches. This odd number was on her previous HTC phone before she sent it for drowning and then her new Droid Maxx phone is showing the same thing.
As you know it's useless to go and ask Facebook for any sort of support seeing as how we are not their customers, we are actually the commodity they sell to advertisers so they could give a rat's ass about assisting their commodity. Remember when you don't pay for something then what is being sold is you.
I must add that she also has confirmed to me that when she signs in to Facebook in a browser on a PC she does not see her number replaced inside her profile. It seems really very odd to me how her mobile app still knows how to link with her regular profile when the number is not matching. I have an HTC One M9 and I do not have the same behavior as she reports. According to her she can still see her news feeds and friend posts and all that Facebook goodness. She says she has Avast running on the phone, and she does not install any software not obtained through the Google Play Store.
My research came up with not a very convincing theory. What I found was a dated forum post regarding a Facebook feature that had been discontinued. The feature being cited was like an address book feature that sought to synch the phone's address book and the Facebook Friends list and address book together. But the discussion did not quite match what I was observing so it is unconvincing that I found what the cause was.
Can anyone follow this story at all? Has her phone been hacked? Can anyone tell me a better place to post a question regarding this?
Hi!
It has recently come to my attention that all och my devices somehow has been hacked. Also people in my surrounding, ex. family and friends devices seems to have been compromised! The devices affected includes, but is not limited to, Samsung galaxy s4, s5, s6, s6 edge plus, nexus 6P, Sony Xperia Z1 compact, Apple iphone 6 etc. Some of the devices was rooted, other were completely stock.
The attacker have somehow gained full control of the phones and used them to listen to coversations, download files, track via GPS etc etc..
My question now is How could this happen?
I am fairly concerned about my privacy in normal cases so I am absolutely sure that they haven't had physical access to my phone. And it seems far fetched that they would have gotten access to all of the phones that have been compromised without getting caught even once!
Now all of my devices are newly flashed and formatted, do you think that the malware they use could have survive that?
If you miss some information or need to know anything else, feel free to ask and I will answer as soon as I can!
Thank you!

Is there no one who knows how this works? Please help us understand?
