Generic selfie stick not working. - LG G5 Questions & Answers

I just received a generic Bluetooth selfie stick as a gift. It seems to pair (it appears on the list of Bluetooth devices, but it won't turn blue although) and then I open any camera app, including stock, and nothing will happen when I press the button on the stick. I could not try it with other phones but I wanted to ask you anyway if this has happened to you.

Bluetooth Radio

Hi All
I've got the HTC Leo (radio 2.06.51.07). I'm having a problem with the Bluetooth functionality.
My car has the Ford Microsoft Sync capability in it. The phone is troublesome, the music player (via A2DP) won't change tracks from the car interface, only works sometimes. The play button doesn't always work either..it works fine provided I change tracks via the phone interface. I have tried a soft reset and hard reset.
I want to try another radio version ( I think this is related to the Bluetooth, right?). Do I need to reinstall my ROM everytime I do this or can I do it on the fly?
Also, which radio versions will work with my ROM version? (1.66.405.2 (766410 WWE)
I just wanted to say i have the EXACT same problem as you with my Nissan nav system + bluetooth. The phone connects within 10 seconds or so after starting the car, but getting music to begin playing is a real chore and behaves as erratically as you described. Often I'll lean on the FF/RW keys to force it to shuffle, then hit pause or play and it will just start working all the sudden. Once it is going I can choose songs just fine, but if I try to pause good luck getting it unpaused.
Yes that's the same thing I'm having.
I noticed today that if I remove the phone from the sleeve (the leather pouch we were supplied with the phone) it seems to work more often?
I notice that with my bluetooth headphones, if the phone is inside my jacket pocket, the bluetooth reception is really crap... the music starts to cut out as its playing.
I wonder if it's something to do with the reception or bandwidth available over A2DP? Maybe I'll drop the sound quality of the A2DP right down and see if it works better then.
i had similar problems trying to connect the phone to my parrot hands free kit in my car (i still havent got it to work). try radio 2.11, its not the latest but seems to be the most stable. you with have to install hard SPL on your device, but wont have to re-install the ROM. after that give it a try, if you still have issues, have a look at tweaking the bluetooth settings through an app called hd2tweak. there is a section called bluetooth which has a few options you can change, you may need to increase the bitpool. also check that you have added the bluetooth device on the phone and that it is an authorised device and the incomming connections are accepted (this is in the standard bluetooth options). also try disabling SAP (SIM access) and see if that helps, i have to have this disabled to use my blueotooth headset, no idea why though
Is your Bluetooth always visible turned on?
If not, slide over to the settings tab and select all settings from the menu. Select the Bluetooth icon and it will ask if you want to turn Bluetooth on, tap yes. A screen will appear with the settings button in the upper left corner, tap it. A menu will appear, select the discoverable entry (the binoculars) and make sure the always visible radio button is selected. That should do it. Before making this change, the pioneer Nav. system in my car was having difficulty finding the phone. Since the change everything has worked just fine. I hope this helps.

Hi thanks for the hint... I checked and it is set to always visible but I can see how that could have affected it! Thanks anyway

Thanks for letting me know, I'll give that a go and post the results back. I upgraded the Radio to 2.10.50.28_2 a few nights ago, that didn't seem to make much difference, I'll try the 2.11 (if I can find it!)
Ok I think I have figured out whats going on here. It's the sense player at fault. I switched to windows media player and let it import all my tracks/playlists, and it plays the songs 100% perfect without delay every time. I can even get more track info on the nav screen, like album etc. Pause/Play/Skip work flawlessly.
I CAN'T BELIEVE IT!! You are absolutely right!
It works like a dream now. I wonder what the hell it is that is different in the HTC sense player?!
Does anyone know why the HTC sense player ignores some commands but answers others?

[Q] Prime has trouble pairing with Logitech bluetooth audio adapter

I just bought a Logitech bluetooth audio adapter (Model 980-000540) and am having a lot of trouble getting my Asus Transformer Prime to pair with it.
I've got the gold TF201, 32GB, all software up to date. I've gotten it to pair a couple times reliably, but the other 20 times I've tried pairing it works like this:
1) Press the button on the Logitech that puts it into discovery mode. The light on the unit starts flashing green to indicate it is announcing itself.
2) In the Prime settings, I have Bluetooth enabled, and then search for devices.
3) The Logitech unit shows up in the "Available Devices" list pretty quickly. Sometimes I see (what appears to be) a MAC address, sometimes it shows up as "(A9)Logitech Adapter".
4) When I click on the Logitech item in the list, it goes gray and says "Pairing" underneath it.
5) Most of the time, it the moves to the section above, to indicate that it has paired.
6) Immediately the green light changes to red on the Logitech, indicating it has lost pairing.
7) Shortly afterwards, the Logitech item goes back into the "Available devices" section.
8) If I try to pair now, with the Logitech no longer in discovery mode, the Prime will show a dialog that says "Couldn't pair with (A9)Logitech Adapter because of an incorrect PIN or passkey." The only option is OK, and there is no ability to set the PIN.
This happens 19 out of 20 times, but it's locked on a couple times and seems totally solid and reliable after that. It's just the pairing process which seems unbelievably fragile.
To my surprise, my Samsung Galaxy Nexus (LTE) has no trouble pairing with it at all. It paired the first try, and now whenever I turn Bluetooth back on it immediately syncs with the Logitech with no hassle at all. Rock solid.
I've tried various tricks, but none seem to work:
- Put the tablet into Bluetooth-broadcast-visible mode at the same time.
- Turning bluetooth off and then back on, etc.
Has anyone else had trouble with Logitech bluetooth speaker adapters too? Or does anyone have any tricks or apps that can coax the Transformer Prime into pairing more reliably?
Thanks for any help,
Jim
I had a very similar problem last week trying to pair a LG headset with the prime, connected with phone perfect, and but likewise when trying to connect also to prime second got the lost connection, incorrect pass/pin etc etc.
I solved it by connecting bluetooth headset to phone, then under phones bluetooth settings press and hold device name to bring up a menu, and select options. Then unchecked the Media option/box. I then tried to connect the device to prime and it worked flawlessly. Since then I haven't had an issue and can even switch between the phone/prime & bluetooth device with no issues.
Hope above helps and you get it sorted.
Try this app. It may help if nothing else does.
Bluetooth Address Finder - Market
Not sure if the Prime or your Logitec gives you the option to input the BT address or not. I've not had any problems pairing or connecting to any of my BT devices.

[Q] Prime and BlueTooth transfer how..

Sorry to open a new thread, I cannot really find any help on this, that I can understand at least.
I have several device at home with Android of different versions.
How do I transfer files or pictures, music and so on between them?
Do I have to use an app. which is suitable for all the different version of Androids, or does Android have a "built-in" way to do that.
My devices are paired with it, but I could not find out.
Any help, guide, tutorials idiot-proof?
Thanks
it should be a built in feature. nothing special should be needed. you first have to pair both devices together. make sure devices are discoverable when you do it so they can connect. then on prime search for devices. then you should see your phone up there. select it. then it'll send a pin code message to phone for you to confirm. confirm on the phone then confirm on the prime. now devices should be paired up.
now to test it, take your phone and go to your picture gallery. select one of your photos or videos. then press option to share it. then select BT. then a pop up should appear on phone showing your prime. if not then press scan for BT devices. then select the prime on it. after a second or two, your notifications on the prime will go off. press it and it'll tell you a BT device is trying to send you something. accept it. then it should start transferring the file. you can see the progress bar in notifications area. when it's done it'll let you know.
if any issues or still can't get it to work, just post back.
p.s. glad to hear you got your prime back
...thanks man, it worked like a charm between ATP and Galaxy S Plus mobile..

no problem. I use it all the time to transfer files from my Motorola Atrix to prime. like pictures and videos. now if we can get this wifi direct in this new update working, we could use that instead and the file transfer and different capabilities would be alot faster and better.
I've been having an issue where the my phone won't connect to the tablet through bt for the main purpose of file transfer. Thank you for explaining how it is done as I was able to pair the devices but it would not "connect" like it would with say... bt headphones or my laptop. With the laptop it sets up a whole profile in the bt settings for file transferring or audio but the the various phones I've tried to connect with I would only get rename or unpair. I thought that "connect" status had to be established for any transferring to be done or to use the bt gps apps.
I tried what you suggested and it worked for transferring pictures in the gallery. Thanks

glad to hear you got it working. it doesn't need to "connect" or say it for pics, video, and file transfers. As long as both devices paired, you should be good. it only needs to connect for BT tethering, head phones, and things like that on prime.

New Note 3, couple of issues

So, I love this phone and hate it at the same time.
First off, just at random, the BT, Wi-Fi or GPS will just turn off. Has not happened for a couple days, nothing has really changed.
Now the big issues. These are driving me nuts....
I have a Pyle PLDN74BTi (don't laugh, it was dirt cheap) and it supports Bluetooth audio and tagging and speakerphone from a BT phone. All the features work except the tagging. I cannot get BT to display the audio info or the phone info.
Second, I just bought an iBolt xProDockX. When I dock it, the phone recognizes its docked, but it will not open the doc app upon dock. I look in the default apps, and the dock isn't even listed. I purchased Car Home Ultra and it wont auto open, I even install the dock&drive app from iBolt and it wont auto open upon docking either.
Anyone else having these stupid issues with their phone? I have cleared all the apps, and I have restarted the phone. No Dice.

It sounds like a bad phone. Might want to take it back and exchange it.

Bluetooth remote with mic and IR?

Has anyone found a Bluetooth remote (preferably with keyboard) but most importantly with a programmable IR blaster to control the other home theater equipment and a mic for voice control on Nexus Player?
I personally haven't tried with the nexus player yet but if anyone is willing to give it a shot, might i suggest this:
http://www.amazon.com/Rii-mini-i13-...TF8&qid=1447105809&sr=8-6&keywords=rii+remote
Had it for PC for awhile before I gave up on wireless air mouse (air mouse kinda sucks on a PC to me) and gave it to a friend, but I did try on my nexus 5 via usb OTG adapter and worked pretty well for what it was worth on the little screen. Heres what I remember about it:
the IR function allows you to program up to 8 devices via IR. to program you point the IR lights at eachother and hold down the corresponding button on the rii13 until the blue light flashes, then press the button you want the rii13 to learn on the other remote. This was nice and essentially allowed full customization of the IR side of the remote, but made programming take a little more time than finding a code and pressing it to match the device you want to program. Only real downsides i found to the IR side of the remote was the IR emitter was kind of weak. Depending on the device, you had to sometimes point either real close or aim just right to get the remote to work. Devices with good IR receivers werent much of an issue. For example, my Samsung tv was easy to aim and control, but my remote control tower fan was always tricky to point at, even directly aiming. the other downside was rapid Ir blasting was lacking. for example, my samsung tv i could press the volume down button rapidly or hold it down to make volume turn down quickly. on the rii13, input works, but was rather slow. there would always feel like a short pause between presses.
keyboard and mice work well on the rii13. keyboard side was pretty responsive, and mouse featured 3 different speed settings. downside was that whenever the mouse/keyboard function would be turned off, the speed setting reset back to default when turned on. The device also has microphone/speaker output. speaker wasnt that great, but worked. microphone wasnt awful but left a bit to be desired. it was as though there was feedback preventing the voice software on my pc to properly detect what i said. interestingly i dont recall this issue on my nexus 5, but then again i only played around with it on there, so dont have much experience. the mic does not have a push to talk button. I think its always on, as i recall simply saying "okay google" on my nexus 5 to activate it.
Now I know this all sounds awful, but i dont have much to compare it to other rii branded devices. for all i know, the other rii devices could have the same IR issues, etc. maybe i had a faulty unit. But I think it might be worth a shot to try and play with on the nexus player if anyone is curious or interested. Perhaps you dont care about the mic/speaker functions, in which case maybe the IR "issues" i had might not bother you that much.
