Need 7.2.9 firmware - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

Does anyone have a link for 7.2.9 firmware for kenzo? I'm on stable 8.1.6.0 and facing WiFi disconnection and signal loss issues. I want to try that firmware to see if it fixes the problem.

It's the firmware from Umang96 slim7 thread

[Q] Is CM firmware necessary after unlocking Kenzo? Need help!

Hello people, i just bought RN3 (Indian version with FPC sensor), i unlocked unofficially by flashing MIUI 7.1 and installed AICP 11 MM just after that, do i had to flash CM13 Firmware first?
Everything works fine but sometimes screen glitches and phone freezes so i have to force reboot it.
So should i now flash CM firmware? if yes with which TWRP? i'm using official twrp 3.0.2-2, reply soon....
Edit- solved
Flash CM firmware if your ROM is CM based at all, of course. If not, look for something in the ROM thread.

Personally I always flash it anyway. Fixes a few bugs like settings FC etc.

New owner of a Kate, which files should I use ?

Hi all,
I'm a glad owner of a Redmi Note 3 Pro SE "Kate", and I'm a bit lost with all the threads, roms, TWRP versions, methods to unlock the bootloader...
I've read a lot, but there is many many threads and files here, sometimes with outdated info, and I don't want to make the bad choices !
I have already flashed the latest Global Dev ROM and waiting for official unlock at MIUI.
Now, I want to install a custom ROM (like CM or RR) and it's where it begins to be complicated....
So I have two questions:
- Which TWRP version is best for my use ?
- Do I have to flash radio firmware, or some other firmware file if I flash CM or other custom ROM ?
In the CM thread there is firmware file, but I suppose it's for Kenzo, and not Kate, am I right ?
Thanks for reading.
Use Alka TWRP, M4, or official.

I had already downloaded this file, but if I'm understanding well, this is the same I have on my phone right ? (MIUI 8 Global dev 6.12.22, latest beta)

Where please ? I haven't found the CM13 official thread...
Do you think there will be issues if I keep the firmwares I have on MIUI 8 Global dev 6.12.22 and flash CM13?
If I flash other custom ROM, (aosp one or cm based), can I use the same firmware file ?
The firmware is for Nougat based for kate

Kate Flashing Custom Roms

Hello guys, soon i will have a new brand Kate redmi note 3.
What are the exact (newbie) steps to flash a KENZO custom rom/kernel(like RR or Nitrogen OS) on it? (like unlocking bootloader, install twrp, flash rom, make the rom compatible with kate etc).
Thank you
Follow the given flash instructions. In terms of firmware look for Kate firmware or flash kenzo modem afterwards. That's all

nope you have to flash nothing else.
Kenzo=Kate they are identical except for firmware (modem)
only flash the right firmware (psy_man's for KATE)

1) Doesn't matter.
2) Yes. If you brick doing this, well done.
The procedure itself is 100% safe but if you do weird stuff like turning off your computer/phablet during flashing process it can brick. Therefore nobody can guarantee you that you won't brick your device.

You can flash any Kenzo rom. You just have to flash Kate firmware / modem afterwards. See here for instructions: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-replies.cfm?t=2566258&p=6&#r120

If you want to flash Nougat, you have to use Android 7 firmware. Just use the one by PsyMan. It works and won't lock your bootloader.
Flash the firmware, flash the ROM you want to use, flash GApps (Arm64, Android 7.1)

Thanks a lot.
This one seems to be getting universal approval and seems fairly foolproof . Its written for LineageOS (Strix)

Hey bro which rom are u in??
AOSP or Miui??
If Miui than download fastboot rom and flash it using mi flash.
If aosp rom, update to latest firmware and try a different rom
But the fastboot rom flashing should fix the issue.
I had this exact bug too. I'm on official LineageOS 14.1 with a kate model.
My bug went away after an update of LineageOS and I think more importantly an update of my firmware that I downloaded from here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/development/firmware-hmnote3proglobal-t3574361
I've firmware version 8.2.1 and LineageOS 20180214-nightly. I flashed the firmware without the emmc_appsboot.mbn file.
I would suggest to flash a new firmware and see if the bug goes away.
