Hello I bought leeco le max 2 from fastcardtech.com
They created an account on my phone and it is bound with that account.Fastcardtech wont give me the password to unbind it because they say they have forgotten it.Can anyone please help me?
As soon as you get the phone, flash the stock ROM. Wipe everything and you will be ok.
I did flash a rom but the previous acount remains bound.

The phone is not new! if it has been bound and you cannot unbind, that means someone else has created a LeEco account, why would fastcardtech do that, they are a very dodgy company, its a used phone, go to paypal and get a refund! shop elsewhere

I do hope you mean LeEco account. Still is hard to believe that the account info will still be there if you'll wipe data in recovery. As I know you should login with username and password and not the phone's unique ID, so it should normally be erased once you flash a ROM and wipe all (cache, data, etc...). Create a new account and that will be it.
No it doesnt get removed I flashed another rom and the problem remains. It is bound with the previous account

When you set up a LeEco account on the phone it is bound to that phone (presumably by the IMEI number). Erasing makes no difference, presumably as it is server side. So when you flash any eui ROM and try to set up or log in to a LeEco account, it requires you to enter the password to unbind first.

Alright guys, so after surfing on the internet for two days without any luck to solve this issue, here's how I worked it out.
I know a lot of people might have gone through deleting their mi account before signing out from the phone and hence locked onto the deleted uid activate phone screen, right?
The official helpline suggests us to go to the service center but honestly the engineers over there don't know a **** either. All they know is how to hard reset the phone, if the problem is gone then - "EUREKA" !! , else "Well its a hardware issue, motherboard replacement is the only option, it will cost $$$$ rupees." Are you effing kidding me, its in warranty.
Even clean flash with edl mode or so doesn't seem to do the trick.
The only solution that worked was :-
1. Well obviously create a new mi account.
2. learn how to use edl mode, coz that's what's gonna help
edl - http://en.miui.com/thread-290959-1-1.html
How to use miflash with edl guide - http://en.miui.com/thread-235865-1-1.html
3. Download the oldest fastboot rom for your phone.
( I know this is the tricky part to find an old rom but try to go as low as possible, for me, having a redmi note 3, i went as low as 7.1.7.0 )
4. Download the latest recovery rom for your phone from here http://en.miui.com/a-234.html
5. Now enter the edl mode and use Miflash to clean flash the fastboot rom you downloaded.
Wait till the phone starts. The trick here is that older version of miui roms dont directly check for account status. Instead it gives us a choice to use an existing account or to create a new account.
So enter the credentials of the new account you created and log in with it.
6. Enable Find Device now. ( Yes this is important )
7. Load the recovery rom in the internal memory of your phone and use the updater app to update it to the latest rom.
8. It'll take some time to update, but after the phone starts you can see that you have the latest rom and it already has the new mi account logged in.
9. Open https://i.mi.com/ in pc and log in with your new account. Click on Find Device and let it locate your device. Somewhere on the browser you'll see the option to wipe your device remotely. Click on it and let it wipe your device.
10. After the phone is wiped and starts again, click next next until the mi account screen appears. You'll see that instead of asking password for the older account that was deleted, it'll ask you the password for the new account that you recently used. You already know the password so just enter it and voila the rest you know.
11. I suggest you perform a reset from settings -> additional settings -> backup and reset -> reset.
Yep this is it. You have successfully linked your phone with the new mi account. I guess its kinda overwriting it or so, but well who cares, the annoying device locked with deleted account is gone now. I know its a lot of steps and all but its certainly better than the alternative.
Adios people. Enjoy the unlocked beast.
i am on a custom rom (miui v8.1 on lenovo a7000) and am facing the same problem plz help
will this work on forgotten mi account? like waay forgoten that if i open wifi it locks my phone in just a seccond... redmi 3x locked bootloader and yes im in the old rom.
Sir, my mi account has been deleted today. My account mb. No .+919897992624.i want to recover my account.
my case I deleted mi account paramanently without signout my phone..
my case I deleted my account from mi cloud service without before sign out my phone (mi account option on the phone- sign out).
So, I know my account ID and password but they are useless because account is deleted.
If there is any possibility to restore/recover deleted account on mi cloud it would be perfect.Or maybe some other solution.
Device is locked through MI account but account is deleted
Hi ,
I am venky , Currently I am in Australia and my redmi note 4 device is locked I thought deleting account will solve the problem and deleted it and hard reset it but it still asks the password damn its been an headache for me and when i encountered your post the solution is convincing but It effect my phone longterm I mean to say that will I able to recieve new updates and if possible can you send step by step procedure again to [email protected]

Flashing old ROM is causing unknow imei error and wifi is not working too
I'm not able to use MIUI anymore because of the inability to enter my mi account's password.
So a month ago, I created a new mi account by using my phone number cuz i was not able to unlock my bootloader officially. I then did a factory reset but now whenever i start my phone, it asks for Mi account verification password... So even when i enter the password, it shows incorrect password and i cant get past this part so I'm stuck at this startup screen and cant use my phone at all. I even tried resetting my account password but it says "You've exceeded the number of verification attempts allowed within 24 hours." even after waiting for 24 hours before another attempt. It still shows the same error after a month. I think the reason is not verifying the new number after creating mi account.
I would like to add that I've tried contacting Xiaomi customer service quite a few times but they were of no use so I flashed an early MIUI firmware and i was able to access my phone but it was showing no IMEI number so I unofficially unlocked my bootloader and installed CM13. I'm now on LOS14.1 but wanna switch back to MIUI cuz of camera quality. So is there any way that I can use MIUI ever again?
Please help
Try this. Take out your SIM card and don't enable WiFi at the setup screen. It should bypass the account login page.

I tried that as well but it seems that this mi account thing registers itself with the IMEI number so no matter what I do, it asks for the password in the startup.

I really don't know how Xiaomi expect you to login through their system without any SIM/data or WiFi connection.

Thanks. I'll give it a try. Don't have Wi-Fi right now so I'll have to wait for few days I guess.
One question though: After flashing with the oldest firmware, I lose IMEI so do I need to update through Wi-Fi and then create a new mi account?
After installing new rom (EU, Stock) i'm not able to sign in my account due to device security info (It says couldn't check device security info) And my device is totally locked.
Last day it was normal.
have you checked your internet connection, and give more info regarding it
Same Here! After flashing another MIUI Rom it won't let me log in into my mi account for the same reason.
But I have also noticed that I am not able to log in into my account from my computer via the browser. Mi Cloud should be accessible via https:// i.mi. com. But - surprise, surprise - it fails also due to a connection error (http 408?).
So I guess, we just have to wait for a fix on Xiaomi's side? Can anybody confirm my observations?

I can tell you more. I can't not quit account on old Redmi Note 4 due to network error, can't login on new Redmi Note 4X just by "Authentication error", and even get both them locked after reset the first one. And now I wait for resolution of their problems to get both devices unlocked.
I even wrote support, they told me "we have this issue and working on it". Recommended me try to login after few hours.
i have waited for 16 hours and the problem is still there. Sad!

So just wait, or you can back to any custom ROM till this problem fixed
This bug has been confirmed, and they are working on it. Check here: http://en.miui.com/thread-1450041-1-1.html

I have the same problem now, do we happen to have a solution for this now?
my account.xiaomi.com error was Couldn't sign in (undefined). Had to provide different email address (domain).
incredibly could not sign after many tries:
- success but email never arrived via VPN IP to normal email accounts
- "Couldn't create account, try again later" from Tor IP
- "Couldn't sign in (undefined)" with email from domain they can't recognize (domain is not .com etc)
- "Couldn't sign up(undefined)" when using temporary email from their known list
- success with a fake gmail account (standalone, not "connected") via VPN IP
but then again, can't login Mi Home.. this company sucks.

maybe we have to use redmi website 1st, and then get the account verification and then we log, and get username / account number from mi account , and then applicate-that username number and password to log-in..
i hope you succeed as i am...

U can skip it by forgot password
1. You need to have a TWRP
2. Using the same rom/fastboot rom, search for the persist.img
3. Copy persist.img to root of the device
4. Boot into recovery (TWRP)
5. On Advanced Terminal type this
simg2img /sdcard/persist.img /sdcard/persist_EXT4.img
then type this
dd if=/sdcard/persist_EXT4.img of=/dev/block/bootdevice/by-name/persist
Reboot
I wanted to install a different rom on my phone because the stock one got very laggy after time, so I went ahead and tried to flash MIUI 9 then it asked me for the account password which I couldn't get, then tried to flash MIUI v7.2.3.0 which doesn't prompt you to login to miui account, it worked but it didin't have internet and my sim didin't work for some reason? in "about phone" it said "out of service"
What do I do now? I want to use my phone but can't because it's asking me to login to MIUI account :\
do you remember in your pc your mi account password?
sure you use a password of the other mail account or game account or similar try to remember.
if you search in XDA other user post the way to unlock this... but i dont like to share this unofficially method.

Unofficialy unlock bootloader and then install a custom rom.
Pocophone F1
security set to fingerprint and alphanumeric password.
every 3 days the fingerprint stops working and asks for password as a default security feature.
Last night it asked for password as its been 3 days since last used password. I am certain the password is correct and signed in several times before with it. I suspect there might have been a system update in the last 3 days. Now it keeps saying password is incorrect.
Forgot password option only allows erasing data and back to factory default.
Any help would be much appreciated.

if you have TWRP or any other encryption supporting custom recovery, reboot to recovery and then check what it asks for.
called xiaomi uk
I didn't root the phone or have custom recovery installed unfortunately.
called xiaomi uk customer support, they were saying the phone should give the option to reset the password via the google account but it isn't giving this option.
the phone is definitely connected to my google account. can see it there and was able to locate it and ring it from the computer browser.

Did you associate your phone to mi account? She this happen to my girlfriend's phone and saw a bunch of cases while looking for a solution. Couldn't find a way around factory resetting.
I ended up doing the factory reset. I am sure it's a Xiaomi software issue because when I was initiating the phone again, when you set up fingerprint it gives this message:
"Remember your lock screen password. If you forget it, you'll have to erase all data on your device, including photos and contacts, and then set a new one"
This is exactly what I ended up doing other than the fact that it wouldn't accept the correct password. There is ways around it if you rooted your phone before this happened but in my case there was no quick solution.
Xiaomi should allow the password reset via Google account like other android phones.
Lucky I did have some backup via Google so wasn't a total disaster.
this is really bad. Im in this situation and i don want to erase my files as i didnt back up or used cloud. since yesterday looking for work around this screen lock issue, im using pocophone f1.
