Hi. I have an SHV-E270k Galaxy Grand (Korea). I installed a ROM called "dokdo rom" which is based on CyanogenMod 12. On first boot, the mobile data was initially on since I can see the H+ sign which indicates that I'm connected via mobile data. I turned it off and used my WiFi instead. Then turned the WiFi off, mobile data on. Poof. No more icon, but I can still browse the internet.
Please help me restore the icons. I already tried rebooting, clear cache and full wipe.

Hi I have never experienced this problem with In Paris v5. Those problems are usually router related. I would suggest the following:
1. Switch off router. Leave it off for a few mins and turn it back on again and try connecting from your tab.
2. If that doesn't work. Switch off router. On your tab go to settings->wireless and networks->wifi settings. Tap on your wifi connection's name and choose forget. Switch on router and scan for networks on your tab and try reconnecting to it.
3. If that fails too, download Wifi Fixer from market for free and see if that helps. Its an equivalent to Wifi settings on Android just like 'fix permissions' for the android system and app permissions
i have done that and my laptop and everything else can connect to the internet apart from the samsung tablet- do i need to flash anything as part of the custom rom install - to confirm all i did was wipe all data and a clean install of paris.v5 -

by "wipe all data", I assume you wiped cache and dalvik cache as well?
in that case, i suggest you try the third step I posted above which is to download Wifi Fixer from the market and it should help.
Try switching to a different channel on your router.

Delete the dhcplist file from your tab via root explorer or another file manager. Dejete the file then reboot the tab. If you google it you'll find where the file is located im at work and I don't remember lol good luck

Since you wiped data, you're not just forgetting a password for the wifi are you?
Thanks for the suggestions - i tried all the above and what and what made it work was the me deleting the dhcplist file - i rebooted my tab and after putting my password in it connected to the internet - so thanks again for all your help.!!
Att atrix 4g (mb860) 2.3.6 rooted
When connecting to wifi, and open market, it shows 'no connection' and a 'retry' button.
What i have tried:
1. clear data, force stop
2. re-install market,
3. upgrade market to the latest version
4. downgrade to a lower version
All above approaches do not work for me.
And when I search similar posts from our forum, a solution I found is to ensure the system date and time are accurately set. But I can not figure out how to accurately set the system date and time.
Can someone help on this? Thanks very much
system date and time is easy... go to settings and you should see date/time... and set accordingly.
as for your market issue... does it connect when using your phones 3g signal? when you're connected to your wifi can you connect to other sites? are there any other apps blocking your connection? (eg lbe, droidwall).
Long shot... try to wipe cache?
I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong but maybe you could try a factory reset or install another rom?
Background: One month ago I rooted and flashed a custom ROM for the first time, I had no problem.
After flashing a few different ROMs, I noticed that my mobile data was acting weird. I could browse the internet and access most internet required apps, but I couldn't download from the play store, watch youtube videos, or get messages from whatsapp messenger.
Problem Today: I just flashed a ROM that I like but now I have NO mobile data at all. I have full bars and my notification bar shows H+ or 3G but data just doesn't work. In the Browser I get this error: "authentication via the proxy server was unsuccessful".
I restored a nandroid backup of stock Touchwiz and data was working again. So I just did a re-flash of the custom ROM and data still doesn't work!
Notes:
- Notification shows data is connected but I can't access the internet.
- Did a restore to stock and data works, re-flashed a custom ROM and data doesn't work.
- Airplane mode isn't on.
- There is no mobile data limit.
- There is nothing in APN settings, there also wasn't anything in stock Touchwiz (but data worked).
- I flashed different modems and they don't work.
- I have tried some APN apps in the play store but they don't work.
- I am on UltimaROM v7.1 // Siyah kernel 1.8.5 // Android 4.1.2
- Wi-fi works.
Please help.
I ended up fixing the problem. So for those of you who might have a similar issue: the problem was with my APN settings. I just had to properly configure it and disable the proxy.

Check your ROM's forum or your kernel's.Maybe it is a common bug and you only have to wait until they fix it.

I am unable to get mobile data on my Galaxy S3 SCH-R530 after upgrading it to 4.3 MJA base band as mobile is reading inbuild parameters of data instead of reading it via SIM and i have taken logs of modem file to figure it out but unable to get it. i set the apn manually but no luck. the mobile internet icon doesnt even show up in the notification bar. Tried restarting, factory resetting, even reflashing but no luck.Does anyone have any idea to figure it out would be helpful.
Hi, i writted CM11 to s3 and I cannot use my mobile internet. I can use wifi without any problem, also I can use my mobile internet to PC via usb. Any solutions?
Tried to reinstall and update CM11
CM installed from stock 4.1.2
You'll probably just need to find your mobile providers APN for data and put that in, your provider will have the manual details. Usually the sim carries this information, perhaps sim toolkit may also have a feature to set this up.
And yes you can tether your mobile internet whether it be wifi or data:
-Install Samsung usb drivers. (if you haven't already, or the kies program)
-Plug in phone.
-Settings/Wifi/Wireless & networks area - More/Tick USB tethering.
It'll then just work.
If the instructions aren't exactly as I wrote, I'm basing that on the location in Lollipop. It's in a similar - if not exact location in KitKat.
