Att atrix 4g (mb860) 2.3.6 rooted
When connecting to wifi, and open market, it shows 'no connection' and a 'retry' button.
What i have tried:
1. clear data, force stop
2. re-install market,
3. upgrade market to the latest version
4. downgrade to a lower version
All above approaches do not work for me.
And when I search similar posts from our forum, a solution I found is to ensure the system date and time are accurately set. But I can not figure out how to accurately set the system date and time.
Can someone help on this? Thanks very much
system date and time is easy... go to settings and you should see date/time... and set accordingly.
as for your market issue... does it connect when using your phones 3g signal? when you're connected to your wifi can you connect to other sites? are there any other apps blocking your connection? (eg lbe, droidwall).
Long shot... try to wipe cache?
I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong but maybe you could try a factory reset or install another rom?

Hi everyone, I'm not sure if I'm supposed to post here so I apologize if this i s the wrong section. The problem is simple, I rooted my phone and installed a different firmware version which already had the market as a stock app (before I couldn't connect to the market). Now I can connect and browse but apps are stuck at starting "downloading". I searched on the forum, I contacted the android market guys but nothing seems to work.
Here's a list of all the things I've already done with no result whatsoever:
Sign in and out of Google Talk repeatedly to restore connection to google servers (google talk or gmail don't give me any problem)
Ensure there is enough space on device for the app to install
Reboot device
Confirm there is strong connectivity on device, and contact mobile service provider
Try download(s) using both WiFi and network (3G/4G) connections
Unmount and remount the SD card
Cleared Market, Download Manager and Google Services Framework cache and data
CheckedIunchecked/rechecked background data, auto-sync, date and time settings
installed oldmarket app and tried using market older version
installed 3.20 market version (I had 3.15)
factory reset and reinstalled the firmware (and went through all the steps again)
went to samsung center to see if there was something wrong with the device
Does anyone have any ideas about how to solve this? It's really frustrating and it's starting to get on my nerves quite a bit.
Any help would be really appreciated.

Im having the same problems. I've even updated to 3.1.6 and still same problems. Android market is slow and I have to try 20 times to go to my app list and do an update.
...anyone?
any ideas at all?
Have you tried to flash any other type of ROM as well as different Radio nor Kernel?
Meanwhile if you need to install an app, you could do it from your computer browser via market, while you find out a solution to solve this problem.
Normally what I do is simply clear the market and google frameworks cache and data, but seems like for you is not working.
At this point must be a radio issue or a ROM issue.
Same problem anyone got solution ?
Have u guys tried Market Enabler? Sometimes it works for me.

Hi,
Hope someone can help. My Hp TouchPad with webOS 3.0.4 has a problem with Wifi connection. The wireless networks at college is recognised and is connected when I try. My problem is that when I bring up an internet page it gives me an error message that says"No Internet Connection".I have a number of other devices connected to my college wifi and they are all fine.
Hope someone can help.

Take a look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1494458
I assume you are running CM9? I flashed the firmware update that can be found here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...3&postcount=61) and I haven't any any trouble since.
Different partches available
its been observed if repeated chaches wipes dont work.. then try restarting the touchpad helps. also sometimes "forget"your existing wifi connection and re-enter the password. Also there are plenty of patches released by each of the different versions of touchpad. without knowing your version its hard to focus on the solution. please specify the version you have flashed your tp.
Hope it helps
wipe and reinstall
I had this issue. When connected to 2.4GHz networks for the first time, it works fine untill either the wifi radio is turned off/on again it does not connect. I would have to forget the network. turn off the wifi. turn on wifi. it would then recognize all networks, including 5Ghz, and then I can connect to the 2.4GHz networks again by entering the password. This happens when I reboot my HP Touchpad as well.
One simple fix, surprisingly, is not on the HP Touchpad itself. It is on your home wireless router. I changed my router's broadcast radio channel from 11 to 1. Issue resolved. Try changing your router radio channel to something different from what it is now.
If that does not work, then leave it at the new channel. backup everything and wipe/restore. I enabled the google account backup. after a restore, it downloaded all my apps automagically. My saved games were not saved however, so make a NANDROID if you're OCD about your saved games. My pictures were still on there tho.
download the latest KANG nightly build into a folder such as CMINSTALL when you initially installed CM9. reboot to clockwork mod and do a factory restore. under advance menu, wipe the dalvik cache and all cache. reinstall the KANG nightly build you downloaded and start fresh. the unit should automagically download all your apps. make sure you enable non-market app installations if you have non-mark apps installed. AKA from unkown sources.
HI,
As it seems my sgs2 have some hardware problems with wifi -> when I try to activate/deactiva it, the state freezes, but phone stil works normal (without wifi offcourse). Now the wifi status is enabled and every time I tried to deactive it, process "android system" freezes. Also when I turn off/reset phone the wifi is still enabled (remember the settings from before somehow) or in the midle state (turing off).
So my question is: where I can set wifi to stay off when you turn phone on (.conf file maybe) So when the phone is turned on, wifi won't be activated.
I don't want to do factory reset yet.
Tnx
I backup with clockworkmod, then do the system reset and restore back only the data and still the same
If I only do the system reset then wifi in disabled. THIS IS OK, but I have to install all apps and do much settings.
So I really appriciate it if someone know hot to disable wifi on boot?
I also try to add some lines in file /system/build.prop to disable wifi, but without success
Looks like you need to do a full reset and a clean flash...
look into chainfires thread in i9100 original Android Dev section, find the firmware for your phone and flash away
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda app-developers app
Tried to flash it with this offical firmware I9100XWLPT (4.0.4):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1544487
But the wifi stil can't be activated! I install program alogcat and that error appear a lot of times: "supplicant not running, cannot connect"
So I'm back to my old stable version 2.3.5.
I only need to figute out how to disable wifi, so the phone will work normal

it's obvious to be a SW problem
just make a full wipe ( wipe cache,data/factory reset, dalvik cache ) and try to install a new rom like sensation .. i've tried it and it's really stable and everything should be working well with u
if this fails .. so take it to service center
or you could use titanium backup, first nav. to apk folder and copy paste wifi apk's, two i think, into a new folder then delete the apps using tb then wipe dalvik cache reboot let it redo app optimisation this will put apps allready installed on then reinstall wifi apk's. failing this as evryone says below.
Still don't know my main question:
Where I can set wifi to stay off when you turn phone on (.conf file maybe) So when the phone is turned on, wifi won't be activated.

This looks like kernel issue.
Try to change your kernel to a custom one.
Personally, I'll recommend Siyah or Speedmod
Swyped from my Samsung Galaxy SII
Tried different kernels, but I got HW issue!
Found something useful, but this is can be done after boot:
Use Android Terminal Emulator and enter:
svc wifi disable
Finally!! I find the solution:
I have to edit this file: (I use app aSQLiteManager and aShell to edit .db file)
/data/data/com.android.providers.settings/databases/settings.db
Inside database file is a table called secure and the field wifi_on has to be changed from 1 to 0.
After reboot wifi was disabled.
You could do that if you phone has hardware issues with WIFI module. Otherwise Andoid OS is very unstable.
Hi, i have a question. If my database file called secure doesn´t have wifi_on field? .... just i have to add the field or what? thanks
Hi guys that subject was mentioned a lot of time here, but there isn't a proper responde to that so I have Htc Sensation with AR HD 6.8.0,when i am trying to download some apps from google play it is downloading after few minuter i have error 495 I did everythink what was told about that her clear chache clear data even reinstal my rom it isnt working anybody have any idea what is that?I tried to download via wi fi also via pc please help me?
Same problem here [error 495]
After I installed CM10 on my hd2, I'm having this problem.. Cant update or even download from store but browsing seems fine.. all the other downloading are also perfect.. Any solution other than clearing cache or data or uninstalling updates would be helpful.. Coz I've done all the usual steps. Please help..
I have had this issue for a long time now. I just used to decide that I'll wait till i get home and download over WiFi (which worked).
But that's not a solution!!!
On my JellyBean One X:
1. Go to Settings
2. In Wireless and Networks, tap on More
3. Select Usage
4. Tap on Menu in top-right corner and make sure Restrict background data is not ticked
5. Also, uncheck Limit mobile data usage (a message appears saying that all background data restrictions will be disabled).
It is the background data restriction that causes this issue (atleast for me).
I had done the whole shabang:
Clear google play cache, data, etc. re-login with Google account, reboot, etc. which didn't help.
This seems to have worked for me!
Hope it helps!

Try removing and then adding back your google account. Source: http://appslova.com/blog/2013/08/21/android-fix-error-495-in-google-play-store/
Hi,
Just installed a fresh android Q rom on my Sammy note 9 (exynos; with august security update).
Everything is working properly besides a few local apps that required internet access (which is working properly).
I receive an error message stating that the app "failed to load. Try again later".
Any Ideas how to fix this issue?
I tried restart, power off, reinstall, delete app cache and data. install again but nothing worked.
Maybe the apps are not compatible with the august update (not yet available in my country)?
Also, I can't open Netflix as well - the app installs but when I open it I get an error.
Finally, does anyone know how to make the navigation bar black / dark mode on all apps?
Thanks!
With regards to "failed to load try again later" error:
Contact the developer of the apps in question

Well, waiting for the developers to respond/fix may take ages...
Any ideas on my end?
The cause for the error mentioned is that apps in question try to download ( additional / updated ) resources via Wi-Fi connection from the WEB, what fails.
BTW:
When you have Wi-Fi turned on, your phone automatically connects to nearby Wi-Fi networks you've connected to before. May be these saved networks became invalid. Hence you can try to remove all saved networks, then add a new one.

Gave this a shot.
Re-downloaded one of the apps from the play store only via my data plan (wifi turned off). Still no go...:crying:
