Okay, so I was trying to unlock my bootloader. Completed ALL the steps up to were I had to flash Radio.zip to get my signal back. Stupid me accidently hit to install the rom I had choosen to install after unlocking my bootloader. I didn't notice untilit was already installing. So it rebooted and I just get the non animated LG logo and it says security error under it. I am able to get to the s/w upgrade screen by holding volume up and plugging usb in. I searched Everywhere and can't solve the issue. I tried re-flashing my kdz file and it only goes to 15% then says my phone is not connected, tried reinstalling the drivers and got the same message. Then I proceeded to the online method. While doing this it found my phone and proceeded to the second part where it begins downloading. It went to 13 seconds time lapsed the stopped. No bar moving across and no more counting with the time lapse. I had read were it froze on others and they let it proceed and it did its thing. So I left it for about 4 hours and nothing changed. I then checked my traffic meter on my router and nothing had even began downloading. I reinstalled and tried again. It would go threw the checking for other software part fine then when it gets to the downloading part its at the 13 second time lapse freeze again. This time it didnt count up to it. It was just instantly where I had left off. I then went to my brothers and tried to his computer. Completely reinstalled it and it did the same thing! Didnt even count up to 13 seconds was just instantly there! I then read where someone had the same issues as me and installed fastboot and flashed xloader and uboot and then the offline method reconized them. Im thinking this is my key to fixing, however when i install the driver as instructed it says install failed because lack of electronic signature. So im lost and ran out of search methods to try. Has anyone else had this issue when installing fastboot? Also I was a little confused on which fastboot file to use so I tried a few and all had the same result. Does someone have a link to the one I need or any other advice? This stinks I just bought this phone but the stock rom was driving me crazy because im use to custom! Thanks so much and please help!!!
SOLVED! flashed ics xloader and uboot and it finally found my phone on the offline method. Now I just have the wonky TS to solve. Should be fun since I lost root and cwm. I was able to get show touches and usb debugging on so that makes lofe easier. You guys have no idea how relieved I feel! I thought I pretty much threw 200 bucks away!
Okay little update. I got fastboot loaded on my phone and flashed a recovery.img but still not having any luck. Both programs are doing the same exact thing as before. I feel like im getting there since I now have fastboot. What other options do I have that I can try?
fastboot erase userdata
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase cache
fastboot erase recovery
fastboot erase boot
Flash the ICS u and x and then use upgrade mode to flash the kdz with offline method.

Okay I got it all up and running. However when I used your commands none of them would respond and do anything except flashing the ICS u and x. Once I did this I was able to get the offline method to work. I then rooted and installed Cwm to run the ts fix because I had the wonky touchscreen. I then flashed kumas rom . I forgot to use CWM to clear my cache and such before flashing to kumas ROM. Will this effect anything? Should I go to cwn and delete it all and reflash kumas ROM? Thanks!
fastboot erase userdata

I using that and i have S/W Upgrade ;(. My phone does not have logos lg and automatically turns on when you insert the batteries into the s / w upgrade

@dottat is it possible to write a script for those for the n00bs that may be the faint of heart type? Like a flash-all deal? I'm good with manually flashing them all individually but for those that aren't that would be dope.. Can you even do that with the .img's for HTC devices?

When sending boot image after i use fastboot erase boot commend, it just stuck on sending 'boot' <16384 kb> and nothing happens. Any help suggestion?
...Send boot.img when flashing boot. Send system when sending system. Can't flash system into boot partition
The boot partition is only 16 megs so if you try to flash a 2 gig file into it you'll prolly hang.
Flashing the 2gig system.img to the system partition properly will likely take some time. You have screenshots?

That's exactly what i did following your instruction. Here's the steps i did (BTW: I will take screenshots as soon as i am home)
1) Went into TWRP and performed a wipe (Data, cache and system)
2) Connect MAX to PC (Win 7 64bit)
3) Go into Fastboot mode (tested using Fastboot devices and results came back with serial number)
4) Copied System and Boot img into the same folder as Fastboot/ADB
5) Issue commend: fastboot flash boot boot.img ---- Error: 1st it was stuck on sending, nothing happens for like 10 minutes, unplug then tried Run CMD with local admin, got a different error msg, this time it says FAILED (remote: not allowed)
6) Then I tried flash just system.img using fastboot flash system system.img --- got error: cannot load 'system.img': Not enough space
I then went back into TWRP, basically did a complete wipe of everything (lucky TWRP was intact), went back into Fastboot mode and did another erase.
1) Enter Fastboot mode and issued: Fastboot erase boot, recovery and system -- All went fine
2) Then tried flash individual recovery/boot/system into its partition, same error msg as above
I thought i am toast for sure, but upon rebooting, i still have TWRP and Thank God i had a Full Backup stored on my external SD card, I just did a restore and everyone is back to where i left off..
thanks for your quick response

BTW: Reason I need to flash the Stock Rom is because my One Max has this weird charging problem, where once the phone is turned on, it only charges to 35-37% and it stops, however if I leave it powered off and charge, it charges to 100% all the way. It must be a software issue and since I am using it on AT&T, Verizon CS and retail store doesn't even want to offer at help. So, i am kinda stuck with fixing the issue myself.

Are you unlocked? Because remote not allowed word indicates you are not. Can you confirm?
If your kernel is what got hosed you always flash my boot.IMG using the app flashify from the market from a booted rooted rom....assuming you are unlocked. Otherwise you will have create a flashable 0p3img.zip file and flash your kernels from hboot.

Flash boot.img from SDcard, everything went fine, just rebooted the phone, no issues. Now, how do i flash the System.IMG, which is the key to hopfully solve the battery charing issue? thanks
It should be via fastboot...but your fast boot install doesn't seem to like flashing anything to your phone. Do you have any other pcs you can try and can you see if your charging issue was fixed before proceeding ?

Wow, i am amazed, just flashing the boot.img and my phone starts chargin pass 37% now while the phone is powered on. Maybe i don't need to flash system.img after all. You rocks dude, thanks so much. Keep up the good work !!!
for what its worth, ive never been able to fastboot flash system system.img ive always gotten that space error.
ive just skimmed thru this, but the easiest way7 for you guys to flash this is to just open the radio zip and add the other images to it. then you can use those directions(oem rebootRUU,etc) and flash them all in one shot.
i could work with you guys to dump the relevant images that usually come in an ruu if you want to make up a full(unsigned) ruu.
I also had the charging issue.(wouldn't charge past 37%....Switched charger and the issue is no more.

Got Fastboot up and running, got myself an unlocked bootloader, got myself the latest TWRP image, and no matter WHAT I DO, I can not get TWRP to flash to my device, and it is driving me absolutely INSANE. Below is what i am getting from command prompt. Any help is GREATLY appreciated.
Code:
C:\Users\saltam\Downloads\TWRP>fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
sending 'recovery' (13186 KB)...
FAILED (command write failed (Invalid argument))
finished. total time: 0.000s
I am pulling what little hair I have out over here, and I am no beginner when it comes to this stuff. Please help if you can.
Only a couple of things I can think, which I'm sure you've already done. Have you re-downloaded the image file and you have renamed it recovery.img?
Edit, is your bootloader unlocked?

Boot loader is unlocked, tried everything besides a different computer. Tried different cord, different USB port, everything. It's like once I unlocked the boot loader the tablet stopped communicating with fast boot. Anything I try to do hangs until I hit reboot fast boot then it fails. Irritating the hell out of me...
have you tired using the wugs Nexus root toolkit? http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-9/development/toolkit-wugs-nexus-root-toolkit-v1-9-8-t2945451
I was having some trouble TWRP installing as well., and it was able to install TWRP just fine
Close any other running programs, especially Chrome. Then if still not doing it, install CWM Recovery instead, and if you still want TWRP flash it from CWM Recovery.
My N5 won't let me have TWRP, so if you just want the functions of a recovery, try a different one.

I'm at my end right now, because I want to remove all this dumb Google bloatware so badly. Was thinking about trying to flash stock image, or relock and unlock boot loader again to see if that does anything, but I'm very nervous that those options might not work because of the fact that fast boot commands aren't working. Certainly don't want to end up with a $400 paperweight...

I assume you're on 5.0.1. Flash the boot or recovery image from the factory image in fastboot. See if that works. That might rule out a fastboot issue. If it flashed it won't do anything negative to your device

Going to give this a shot now..
Worth mentioning, I ran an OEM Lock command, and successfully relocked the bootloader, so it appears fastboot is at least partially working. Going to attempt to flash the bootloader in the image from Google, because that is all there is. Just bootloader and image, no recovery image. I will post results here. I don't know why fastboot commands are broken after unlocking bootloader, but there is one thing that seems odd to me:
When I run fastboot devices, it returns the following (has been like this from the beginning):
Code:
C:\Users\saltam\Downloads\TWRP>fastboot devices
???????????? fastboot
Thoughts?

Yes, recently updated it via the minimalist fastboot/adb tool. This is REALLY irritating the hell out of me at this point... Been trying to get recovery on this stupid tablet all damn day...
I am starting to think this is a read/write error.. It is getting the error whenever it tries to write to the tablet... (sending boot.img results in the error every time)... Anyone know of fastboot/adb commands to check/fix read and write errors
**EDIT**
So, much to my chagrin, it appears to just be my computer... Tried on a different laptop, and was able to get it rooted.. For some odd reason though, I don't think TWRP is installing correctly ??
I am going to try and boot into recovery, but every time i try to flash it with fastboot flash recovery recovery.img it says it was successful, but a boot into recovery mode comes up as the dreaded NO COMMAND laying down Android icon. Super frustrating..
**EDIT 2**
So after much trying of different methods, I was able to successfully flash TWRP with Flashify. Not sure why I couldn't do it manually through fastboot but I'm good now. Thanks for all the replies and suggestions. This can be marked as closed or solved. Thanks!

To your first edit, twrp is probably working correctly. Lollipop forces the stock recovery. There are two files, one in /system and one in /system/bin that force the stock recovery upon boot. You can remove those files or first
fastboot boot twrp.img
Then flash supersu in twrp, then
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img

Kind of mystified with your response... Had nothing to do with the USB drivers. Found out afterward that the problem was the security that my company had setup on my laptop (was using my company thinkpad). Switching laptops solved the problem.
I have the castor windy version 16gb SGP511. I was previously rooted but not unlocked. I unlocked the boot loader. Installed the twrp image on the pac man thread which i think was dual recovery cause Philz,Cwm came out, so I can install lollipop version of the rom. Made a backup of the stock rom. Followed this instructions - Install the Lollipop ROM + GApps+SuperSU using whatever Recovery you have.
- Turn off device completely.
- Press <Volume Up> and plug USB cable.
- LED should turn blue.
- Send command: "fastboot erase recovery"
- Send command for Castor_Windy: "fastboot flash recovery TWRP_Castor_Windy.img"
- Send command for Castor: "fastboot flash recovery TWRP_Castor.img"
- Unplug USB cable.
- Device will reboot.
- When LED turns pink press <Volume Up> and <Volume Down> several times.
- You should now see TWRP
I wasnt fast enough so stock rom booted. I used Adb reboot recovery to access recovery and did as the above mentioned. Wiped i tried to install the rom which failed. Rebooted back to system and got stuck in Sony boot up screen. I can access fastboot. Read though the forums I have to find a ftf or a system image file and use a flash tool. What ftf file or system image my I use use which will let me root my device again.
Thanks Steve

Try this Xperia downloader tool. Should let you see which versions are which. If you want an easy root, then stay away from the KitKat builds, unless you want to unlock bootloader.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...xperifirm-xperia-firmware-downloader-t2834142
Use Flashtool to flash your downloaded ftf file. Just make sure your device is charged.

I believe flashtool will even install the drivers for your 511
Thanks for the reply. Flashed ftf file and my tablet is up an running. Do I have to unlock my bootloader again or is it unlocked already?

Well, now this depends.
If you previously had KK running, and flashed a original version JellyBean ROM, then it probably locked the bootloader again.
If you flashed the same version as you had previously installed, then it didn't lock it again.

fastboot flash recovery recovery.img all of them(CWM,TWRP,PHILZ). The process goes smoothly but when I access recovery the old recovery comes up. What seems to be problem? I cant change my recovery or even upgrade it. I never have had this problem before some insight needed before i take a wrong turn. LOL.

You mean the "factory" recovery comes up.
Well, just for info, you don't need to run the fastboot "erase" command when installing a recovery. Not necessary as the new image file will overwrite the existing.
Also, you don't exactly need to flash a recovery either. You can connect via USB, boot to bootloader, and run the "fastboot boot recovery.img (or whatever you named it) as long as your custom recovery is in the same folder as the fastboot.exe. This will just the custom recovery without installing it, thus allowing you to flash stuff.
As to why your fastboot flash isn't sticking, I'm new to the Sony tab, so haven't learned all the quirks yet as compared to Acer tabs.

As to why your fastboot flash isn't sticking, I'm new to the Sony tab, so haven't learned all the quirks yet as compared to Acer tabs.

I mean cwm recovery v6.0.4.6 comes up the one I installed Doomlords thread with the advanced kernel. I ran fastboot erase recovery command to see if the new recoverys would stick and replace it but it didn't. I have done your instructions before hand thats how I am accessing the bootloader. "fastboot boot recovery.img all add this command to see If the new recovery would pop up. Thanks for the reply.

Well, here's what I think is going on.
1. You installed Doomlords kernel. Note that this is a foto-kernel, which means the kernel itself has a partition that contains a recovery. What this means, is that as long a the fota-kernel was not replaced, then that specific recovery will be there.
2. You flashed a normal recovery. Now, I think this is there, but because of the fota-kernel, the fota-kernel is taking precedence.
Like I said, I don't know a lot about this Sony tab and the different partitions,as they are different from other tablets I am familiar with.
What puzzles me, is that if you flash a new "ftf" without changing any options in Flashtool, it "should" rewrite "every" partition on the tab, and install Stock recovery.
Now, based on my experience with Acer A500x and A700x tablets, I can say there are times when your issue happens. Rare, but it does happen. Things say they flash ok, but the old stuff still remains. The only option at that point, was to go back to a totally original version of the firmware.
Not sure I'm helping you on this. But the good thing, is that you can Fastboot Boot Recovery.

I started from zero again flashed ftf Firmware SGP511_17.1.1.A.0.402. Verfied that i was bootloader unlocked I still was. Used fastboot to flash Dooms Kernel, without a problem used cwm revovery to flash Supersu. Tried to upgrade my firmware with the prerooted rooms in thread flashed with out a problem but no difference was provided. Verified in settings and initial firmware stands (SGP511_17.1.1.A.0.402). Tried to flash CM12 got stuck on a bootloop. Fastboot flashed the boot img provided didn't work for me so I flahed Teslas rom Followed instructions provided
1. Make sure you have CWM installed and a working nandroid backup
2. Download the ROM.
3. Place the ROM on your SD-Card.
4.Extract boot.img included in zip and fastboot flash it via Flashtool or CMD
5. Reboot to recovery.
6. Wipe data-factory reset/cache partition/dalvik cache
7. Flash the ROM.
Flash went through but when I try to access recovery through the rom or adb recovery doesnt come up. The tablet just stays black on recovery screen and the tablets led turns yellow. I have adb access so went to access fastboot flashed different recoverys. None of them (flashed without a problem), work but if a flashed Dooms I have access to recovery again, but loose functionality of the rom it gets stuck on sony screen. I have to do the steps all over again without a working recovery. This has being a learning experience I am HTC guy so the process with sony products is new to me as well. So where do you think I should go on from here; flash a newer ftf or lock and unlock my bootloader again to see if something happens or just move on jajajajj . Anyways thanks a lot for your help.

Well, I'm not sure which route to take.
However, I will tell you what I have learned the other day.
I have the 521 with unlocked bootloader. Rooted with my own boot.img, flashed SuperSU using "flashboot boot recovery.img" (yeah, sometimes it doesn't show on the display, so it takes a few times).
Now, other day I was going to check out the new LyPop pre-rooted. Fastboot flash recovery recovery, img, and it won't boot it to recovery like it should. Like it's not flashed. Tried it a couple times. Now, I didn't install the dual recovery as I'm not sure how that kernel (boot.img) will interact with my current tabs OS. Not to mention I need it for my work until tomorrow. But strangely it sounds like the same issue you have.
This weekend I will investigate it. As for me, I will probably flash the Stock ftf lyPop build, and just root it using a modified boot.img.
One thing I do know, is flashing a custom recovery to the "recovery" partition, doesn't seem to work like it used to work on other devices. It seems the flashing to the "Fota kernel" partition seems to be the only method that works. This is what happens when you flash that dual recovery, or any recovery that has a boot image using "Fota". Probably explains why you can't get rid of it using "fastboot erase recovery". because it's erasing the wrong partition. Only flashing a full ftf gets rid of it, because the ftf has a new FotaKernel it flashes.
Eh, something like that. Will look at it this weekend.
i know there are other threads on this topic. But after going through them I cant find the fix.
I unlocked bootloader and tried to root. Its seems to have worked, but the touchscreen no longer works.
I used lmsa to download the stock rom. installed magisk and ran the boot.img to get the patched boot. Then flashed the patched boot and when i rebooted the device...no touchscreen.
I tried to reflash the original boot.img but that didnt help.
I tried to use LMSA to rescue. but when i connect the phone it says "unable to match firmware. Some key information cannot be read from device."
The original adb fastboot was old. So I did update to the r30 version and tried flashing everything again. but it still boots up and no touchscreen.
Im obviously at a loss here. so any help would be appreciated. Just to even get it back to stock would be fine.
Or do I try to install twrp and throw a custom rom on? would that work. Again, at a loss...
TIA
UPDATE: ive gotten everything sorted. no more bootloop. touchscreen working. connecting to lmsa. and rooted. Thank you for all the responses.
I think what happened is that when i started all this i was not using the latest adb. That seemed to not be an issue for unlocking bootloader, but a major issue for rooting. When i tried to root,i got the no touchscreen. So I followed directions and went to manually flash the stock firmware. I didnt know how to do this and couldnt find instructions for the g power. but did find instructions for the g8 power and assumed it would be the same...its almost the same, but not, so i got the bootloop.
These are the instructions:
fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
fastboot flash bootloader bootloader.img
fastboot flash vbmeta vbmeta.img
fastboot flash radio radio.img
fastboot flash bluetooth BTFM.bin
fastboot flash dsp dspso.bin
fastboot flash logo logo.bin
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot flash dtbo dtbo.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash super super.img_sparsechunk.0
fastboot flash super super.img_sparsechunk.1
fastboot flash super super.img_sparsechunk.2
fastboot flash super super.img_sparsechunk.3
fastboot flash super super.img_sparsechunk.4
fastboot flash super super.img_sparsechunk.5
fastboot flash super super.img_sparsechunk.6
fastboot flash super super.img_sparsechunk.7
fastboot flash super super.img_sparsechunk.8
fastboot flash super super.img_sparsechunk.9
fastboot flash super super.img_sparsechunk.10
fastboot flash super super.img_sparsechunk.11
fastboot flash super super.img_sparsechunk.12
fastboot flash super super.img_sparsechunk.13
fastboot flash super super.img_sparsechunk.14
fastboot flash super super.img_sparsechunk.15
I added fastboot flash super super.img_sparsechunk.15, because the g8 power only has 14 sparsechunks and thats why i kept getting the bootloop. very stupid mistake that was driving me nuts! Once i added that 15th line the phone booted up and touchscreen worked again.
Then i installed magisk manager. Took the boot.img file from my stock rom and put it on my phone. back in magisk i clicked on install a patch file, chose the boot.img and created a magisk_patched.img which i put back into the adb folder i previously used to flash the firmware.
Then went back to fastboot and flashed the magisk_patched.img and the phone is now working and rooted...THANK GOD

I just ran into the same problem and asked you about it in the other thread. Right after, I tried the boot from XT2041-4_SOFIA_RETUS_10_QPMS30.80-51-5_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC and got my touchscreen back.
https ://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/sofia/official/RETUS/
I found out more of what's going on and posted in the other thread:
I just did the same exact thing. LMSA gave me SOFIA_RETAIL_QPMS30.80_51_8. Lost touchscreen with the patched boot. Used the stock 30.80_51_8 boot and didn't fix it. Also tried the older QPMS30.80-51-3, no dice.
Oh and LMSA can't rescue... key information cannot be read from device.
I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.
UPDATE - found the boot from XT2041-4_SOFIA_RETUS_10_QPMS30.80-51-5_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC got the screen working again.
UPDATE 2 - patching -5 still left me no touchscreen. Went back to stock -5 and didn't work. Tried -8 and works again... I'm confused.
UPDATE 3 - when phone booted up, it notified me -8 was just installed... Patched -8 boot again and everything appears to be working fine. Moral of story - LMSA downloads the correct firmware if you give the phone enough time to finish auto-updating before rooting. SMH

ive tried this. i either dont have (and dont know) which is the correct rom. or some other issue. i can get into fastboot mode, no problem. but when i type fastboot reboot fastboot i get that long list of commands, as if im typing in a bad command. and it does not go into fastbootd. i can, however, get into fastbootd through recovery. but every time i try to flash something there, it fails (no file or directory).
And i cant use LMSA cuz when i try to connect, it says the phone has incorrect firmware.
