Hello
I just got my x820 but the system is popping ads all the time, I want to update to official rom but there is no system update option,
What is the easiest way to update to official 21s ?
1. Go to http://bbs.le.com//zt/eui/le_max2.html and download the latest 020s ROM.
2. Once downloaded, rename the zip as update.zip
3. Put the zip in the root folder of Internal Memory on the phone.
4. Turn off the phone.
5. Keep pressed Vol up button and press Power button to power it up into Recovery.
6. Check the boxes "Start Update" and "Clear data" and it will start flashing the newest official ROM. (the stock recovery wording may be different as I don't remember it very well since I'm using TWRP for over 6 months)

I have a US version of the M7 that is s-off and rooted, but otherwise stock and running 4.4.2 w/Sense 5.5. I would like to install the Sense 6. I had been running TWRP and reverted to stock recovery (took several attempts as I had several version). I was able to download the OTA, and tried having the system just do the update, but it failed. After failing, the update file disappeared from the file system. I redownload the file, and moved it into the root of the SD, rebooted into stock recovery and attempted the update manually by selecting "apply from phone storage." The process began, but got stuck on:
Code:
Warning: No file_contextsVerifying current system...
"/system/app/CIMEXT9.apk" has unexpected contents.
Installation aborted.
I've attached a snapshot of the error on the screen.
It appears that I may have inadvertently updated a system file somewhere along the way. What's the path of least resistance in getting passed this? I would prefer to not have to wipe.

Follow these steps for manual OTA update, I found them on the net sometime ago but remember the author.
1. Make sure you have the stock (original) recovery flashed on your device (You can extract the stock recovery out of the OTA zip file)
2. Make sure you’re running a completely unmodified operating system. Additional files like Superuser.apk or su binary are allowed, you just can’t have any system files changed or removed (due to the MD5 check)
3. Make sure you have a reasonable amount of battery charge remaining
4. Make sure the OTA update you’re about to install matches the software version on your device (The file name will have both the old version number and the new version number. If the old doesn't match then the OTA will fail.)
5. Copy the OTA update.zip package to your device (internal storage preferred)
6. Turn OFF the device (make sure fastboot mode is disabled in settings)
7. Hold your volume down and power keys until the bootloader starts up
8. Using the volume keys, navigate down to RECOVERY and press power
9. You are now in stock recovery mode. You should see nothing more than a (sometimes spinning) Android with the red exclamation mark above it (an empty black screen is also possible). Wait for a few seconds
10. First hold volume up, then (with volume up held down) press power button to enter the main recovery menu. This keys combination may vary from device to device. Try different keys combination if the above one doesn’t work (might be all three keys altogether too) Tip: Press VOLUME UP and DOWN, then press POWER, release POWER when keys start to blink.
11. Navigate down to “apply from phone storage” text and press power to confirm
12. Navigate to the location where you copied the OTA update.zip package and press power to confirm
13. Wait (sometimes you might need to follow further instructions on the screen) until the update process is finished
14. Once system is booted you should see a confirmation about the successfully flashed update.

Thanks for this, but I was pretty sure that I'd followed this in doing the update. It's possible that the recovery I was using was not the stock one, but the OTA.zip extraction is a good idea and I will try that.
It seems clear that some of my system files may have changed, but it's not clear to me how to change them back to get past this problem.
For example, "/system/app/CIMEXT9.apk" has unexpected contents." is clearly telling me that the CIMEXT9.apk has been modified, but what would I do to replace it with an unmodified version. I have googled that file with no clear answer.

It looks like you will need a nandroid of the stock rom, if you didn't make one prior to rooting and installing a custom recovery it might be difficult to find. If you can find one, you can pull the rom out of it and flash it. Failing that you will have to go the wipe route. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Just got my Le X829 last week and found out the EUI version is 5.8.016S. I've been trying to update to 019S. I've downloaded the file from http://forum.le.com/in/eui_detail.html?euiid=209 , and followed the instruction of but unable to find the SYSTEM UPDATE on my phone menu.
Just wondering what did I do wrong?
Rename the downloaded file to update.zip and put it to the root directory. Then power off the device. When off, keep the Vol up button pressed and then press the Power button to enter recovery. Once you see "RECOVERY" on the screen, release the two buttons. In Recovery, click Start update. The recovery will search for update.zip and will start to change the ROM to 019s.
Good luck!

Well, you don't have to root to install TWRP. Seems like this will be the way as stock recovery won't do the trick.
Install TWRP and then install the 019s.
When the ROM has finished installation, reboot in recovery and before reboot back to system, allow disable custom recovery. This way you are completely stock and you can receive OTA updates.
I recently changed my stock recovery to twrp recovery because I want to flash a custom rom for my scc u21 when i flashed the custom rom I forgot to make a back up for my stock rom. So now I want to go back from my stock rom. Can someone upload the stock rom for huawei y6 scc u21 please.

If you have stock recovery, use this method:
1. Download the .zip file. http://download-c1.huawei.com/download/downloadCenter?downloadId=83446&version=327553&sit
2. Unzip/extract it. Copy the dload folder to your SD card’s root directory.
3. Turn off your Huawei. (Make sure your battery has enough power. Charge it if necessary.) Insert the memory card.
4. Press both Volume keys (VOL UP and DOWN) and then the power key until the software upgrade progress bar displays. Then you can release all keys.
5. Wait until the progress bar finishes and the phone restart.

After updating my J5 2017 J530F to the latest Oreo 8.1 I was having trouble getting root and all things working again.
Hours of waiting for installs then something going wrong after applying the CF-Auto-root or trying to install Magisk or something and having to install again, Hours spent waiting..
Trying to install the auto-root would cause a verification error and force a system erase but not work again.
Thought i'd found the solution with the EDOs rom but then realised I had no bluetooth and had problems with mobile data.
After many efforts i found a way by simply installing the excellent Helios PRO kernel and manually installing Magisk after.
So I offer you the way i found to root my phone with Stock Oreo 8.1
A step by step breakdown of the method I used to fully root the fresh stock rom install.
First download the needed stuff

Note if you are not installing from fresh stock roms Helios kernel says...
If you have flashed Root through any means other than magisk, Please uninstall it (SuperSU>Full unroot)
Magisk , (All J5 roms kernels i installed that said they had magisk pre-installed never actually worked on my phone)
so I downloaded the files to manually install Magisk.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/apps/magisk/official-magisk-v7-universal-systemless-t3473445
I used the main zip file and the manager apk
https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases/download/v18.1/Magisk-v18.1.zip
https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases/download/manager-v7.0.0/MagiskManager-v7.0.0.apk
Note: developer mode and OEM unlocking need to be enabled for most of these steps but many of the steps undo the settings so will need to be reapllied at various stages.
enable developer mode on phone by going to Settings/About phone/Software settings and keep pressing "Build Number" till developer mode activates then go back to main settings page and select "Developer Options" and make sure developer mode is enabled and USB debugging (i guess) and "OEM Unlock"
Method...
1. unpack Odin software and right click Launcher icon and select properties
Go to Compatibility settings and select Vista (service pack 2) compatibility.
Click okay and launch the Odin program.
2. Install stock ROM
Unpack the Oreo 8.1 files and use the buttons in Odin to load the BL , AP, CP and CSC files into each slot
Put phone into "Download Mode" by powering off and holding volume down - , home, and power buttons together till the screen pops up telling you to now press volume up to go to download mode.
Then plug in USB to computer.
Odin should report "Added" if you have correct samsung drivers on PC.
Then press "Start" in Odin.
Stock roms should all download to phone then it reboots.
3. Flash TWRP
Boot up phone, log into an account and get it all running then enable developer mode again.
Once set copy the Helios pro kernel zip file and the magisk zip and apk files to the phones SD card.
Now power down the phone and put it in download mode again.
Load Odin again and now put only the TWRP installer .tar file into the "AP" slot then select the "Options" tab in Odin and uncheck the auto reboot option. then hit start and flash twrp.
Load TWRP an install helios kernel
After flashing TWRP hold down the phones volume-down, home and power buttons and as soon as the screen goes blank immediately change volume down for volume up while still holding home and power.
then TWRP should load
Go to Wipe and select "Format Data" type yes to proceed , then back to wipe, select advanced wipe and wipe internal storage.
then back to TWRP main page and select "Install", select micro-sd card and point installer to the Helios Kernel zip file and install.
Install Magisk Manager app:
After booting up i still had no root so i installed the Magisk Manager apk using the "My files" app and launching it confirmed still no Magisk installed.
(I cannot recall if i had to go through the "Enable developer mode" again at this point but check if you need to or not)
Last Step, Manually Install Magisk.
Lastly I powered down the phone and held volume up, home and power key to launch TWRP
There i selected Install and installed the Magisk.zip file from SD card.
Finally the system booted, everything was working and i had root via an installed and working Magisk
Hope this helps someone..
