I sent a mail to Xiaomi customer service asking this question, but they haven't replied! So, here I am asking you guys whether my warranty will be void if I flash a custom ROM. F.y.i. I'm in India, using the snapdragon version of the note 4. Thanks :good:
It has been almost 2 months, you got any reply from support? or info from other sources?

Thank you for looking at my post.
I'm getting my S4 unlocked tomorrow from a shop which I have paid £30 for and after the unlock I want to install the Stock S4 ROM for the UK for SIM Free version I guess, I was wondering, once the phone has been unlocked and I have changed the ROM will I lose my unlock? I'm getting the phone factory unlocked not by a ROM. The phone is currently locked on Orange. I live the UK if that helps so it's a AT&T or Verizon S4 or anything.
My S4 is the GT-I9505 version.

You may want to post this in the 9505 forum instead. In a double blind research study, it has been proven that one is more apt to receive answers relevant to their GT-I9505 if the question is posted in its forum versus the SCH-I545 forum.

Hi.
After having a ****ty customer experience with my S4, I decided to look elsewhere for a new phone.
I am definitely interested of rooting the phone I'll buy to debloat it and customize it to my needs, so to cut to the chase...
Do you know any manufacturer who's phones can be rooted without having warranty issues afterwards? I mean after flashing stock firmware, unrooting the device etc.
Thank you!
P.S. Developer edition phones are excluded because we don't have those in Greece.
Only phones from this site can be bought:

Nope. All companies pretty much have the same warranty. Rooted= out of warranty

With proper research and experience you'll find that just about any premium device (HTC One, etc) that can be rooted can be returned to stock for warranty issues. Be careful, take your time, read read read, ask questions have fun and you'll be fine!

Will do. Thank you!
I have my T-mobile Galaxy S5 that I love, but my buddy offered me his Sprint Note 3 for $175. It's in flawless condition. Now, I can root and install a custom recovery myself. The phone is bone stock right now. Will that unlock it so I can use it on T-mobile? I'm pretty sure it will.

That's what I have heard. You also need to have had it active on Sprint for a year, and the phone has to be physically in the US when they unlock it.
help
I have a Note 3 from sprint and its already unlocked... the. Problem is my 3g or h conection in some places is very slow... what i have to do to speed up? I need to flash something?
Im from mexico can you help me??
Hello everyone, i was thinking since both redmi note 4 indian varient and 4x are basically the same phones and the only major difference is lte bands then it should be possible to unlock more bands in Indian version of redmi note 4.
Have anyone tried changing the name to 4x in build.prop ?
Or unlocking via qpst ..?
Or flashing modem of 4x on 4 (flashing should have not effect since both have same roms, but who knows i havd not tried that)
There should be a software tweak since xiaomi might have some legal issues enabling more bands in India or have not considered enabling more since they were not needed for Indian market.
If anyone have tried this or any other method please post the solution in the comments.
Thank you
4G frequencies supported by phone are decided by baseband (hardware), you cant mod it.
Take a look at this post, when they are present in the baseband but still blocked by the company to force users to buy new phone !!

Just check the available Bands before buying the phone!
Nobody forces you to buy a new phone - you just didn't do your homework and now you blame the manufactor for your mistake.

If you are not intrested in unlocking the full power of the phone then just mind your own business, no one forced you to comment on any thread but you still did !!
1. Did you read this?

You can find a lot threads about unlocking bands. But noboby managed to unlock bands (some say they have but there is no evidence so I don't trust those guys).
2. My phone has all bands I need. I checked before I bought it.
3. I can post whatever I want - As long as I follow the rules. It is up to you to ignore my posts if you don't like them.
4. The thread you referred to is already closed. Read the closing post and you possibly understand.
You can do whatever you want with your phone, hack it, brick it, burn it. But it is simply a bad habit to blame someone else for your own mistakes. Just my 5 cents...
On red mi note 4 global version, the baseband version is same as on Indian unit. So, it it's the same as Indian one and has all bands as n note 4x. Any hope for bands unlock ?

Looks similar. But what does that mean? Is it a Hardware or a Software Version?
Has it ever been possible to activate Bands on any phone?

Yes

It's OEM Fault that they don't launch Proper Supported Band in specific Regions. When in India, They need Band 1, 3, 5 and 40, But F*** they Didn't provided Band 1 and our **** Government, don't know **** about this. Without anything, they approve any ****s to sell in India..
AnyOne with Redmi note 4x backup Ur QCN, I will restore in Note 4 and check in India. Because same worked for Redmi 3s.
