[Q] Dell Venue 3830 - Internal memory is broken. How fix it? - Dell Venue

Hello! I have dell venue 3830 with a broken internal memory. Current status - dead. No adb, fastboot or even booting. Previous state - tablet hangs when trying to work with the internal memory (erase, write, etc.).
Through to other people found out:
NAND chip marked as KINGSTON 2400096-001.a00g
Chip is BGA. So it is difficult to repair (need reballing)
Question - how can I fix it? Is it possible to boot an operating system from an external storage device? Or locate bad sectors and somehow isolate them?
I hope you can help me, because the problem arose in many people, and I have seen a many records of the unexpected death of dell venue 7/8 (before that observed unexpected hang and rebooting).
PS: sorry for my bad english

[Q] Is there any way to ignore the internal SD memory in Samsung GT-I9003?

Hi everyone,
First things first, sorry if this was covered somewhere else in the forums, I really didn't find this question anywhere so I "had" to post this.
I got my Samsung GT-I9003 4GB a month ago, and everything was working perfectly until 3 days ago. It starts showing an "Internal SD card unexpectedly removed" error whenever the phone goes standby, then it forces me to terminate processes one after another, and finally it shuts down. I hadn't done any kind of ROM flashing nor rooting the device until the problems arose, so I don't know where the problem comes from.
I've tried to re-flash froyo 2.2.1 in my device, but the problem keeps showing up.
I found in this forums this thread (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1088474) covering the possibility of swapping both internal memory and external SD. It works great, but I still had problems with the "external SD card" being "unexpectedly removed"...
It crossed my mind if it was possible to modify the vold.fstab file further to only detect the external SD card as the internal memory and ignore the internal memory, as if it wasn't even on the phone. I don't know if that's even possible (since I don't know much about file systems nor Android), but I'd appreciate your thoughts on the matter.

Was having the exact same problem with a further twist, the issue occured almost every half an hour at office and very rarely at home. Tried a factory reset and also GB update via Kies. Problem was still present, so have given it to samsung service and the service rep informed me that it was most likely a motherboard issue.
Recently one of my friends had the same issue. Samsung service center replaced the motheboard and the issue seems to be resolved.

[Q] 16GB folio 100 - need to fix partition table (maybe)

So, I recently recovered a brick folio 100, and used foliomod 1.4 for a few days. Then I tried installing cm9, but it simply will not work. So, I contacted a forum poster who created a thread to recover bricked folios (the solution I had used) and we tried to fix the issue. The problem is that his solution was devised for 8gb devices, mine is a 16. I was able to install honeycomb, but it seems something is messed up with the storage. The SD Card, for one, is mounted (in Astro File Manager) as USB). The Storage page shows:
MICROSD
Total 12.55GB
Available 5.66GB
INTERNAL STORAGE
Total 0.98GB
Media 6.88GB
Applications -7149256704.00B
Available 777MB
So, something must be messed up somewhere. Can anyone help, or point me in the right direction?
Bump - anyone have any pointers for this??

Internal memory problem

Hello guys. I have a huge problem with my internal and external memory on my tablet. I cant install nothing because my tablet cant mount my memory. All commants from AdB doesn't work. Recovery boot or restore to factory settings doesn't work too because my tablet stuck. And my tablet doesn't have volume butons. I have tried anything from vold.fstab without solution. Please guys help me and sorry for my bad english.
My tablet is MID model but i dont know more.

Bricked ED88

Hi,
I have a MTK6575 tablet which is now bricked after trying to resize the data partition with Meos app. Its name is ED88 and it has 512mb ram and 4gb of internal storage.
Essentially I can enter in recovery console but there is not much I can really do there... I tried to restore the user data backup I took before resizing but it does not help, I guess that's not supposed to help with the partition problems. Just wondering is there some sort of tool that would help me to redo the partitioning... or any other way to fix that...
The USB connector is broken but I was able to solder the power pins, just good enough to charge the battery. So, I am looking for a solution based on microSD flashing.
Many thanks for any suggestion.
Sorry for the bump...
Anyone can tell what options I have to repair the data partition by injecting a ZIP'd script on microSD?
Thanks.

[Q] MemTest86+ -like program for i9100 or android general?

Hi all,
My i9100 seems to suffer from some memory corruption problems, in either the internal flash, or the internal memory. Sometimes it'll reset, and part, or all of my accounts are gone. It does this regardless of with software I have installed on it, and I tried the whole range of stock, CM11 Mx, and now on CM12. So I was wondering if there was some program (or module for CWM perhaps) which can check the RAM and/or internal SD for issues. Don't quite know where to begin looking though, so I thought this was a nice place to start.
Thanks in advance!
Hans
