Hi Cbtc,
First of all, thank you for your work.
I am about to flash your fenix rom on my sm-t580 and if I understand the above quote well, this means by flashing your kernel I don't need to flash the base rom that you are providing in your other thread in order to install your custom rom to get wifi working.
Am I getting this right ?
Cheers

1- This kernel is only for SM-T550
2- If you want flash fenix ROM for SM-T580 you need:
- Flash base ROM using odin ( https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/87975/T580XXU1APG1_T580PHE1APH1_PHE/ )
- Flash TWRP
- Format data and full wipes
-Flash Fenix ROM ( https://mega.nz/#!DMtCWAiQ!O0YEV8e3VKdAuWVe2_dbbtiYf4OAvgNIU4FkkfgL82I )
- Enjoy it!

I'm having an issue second flash around. Reverted to stock, flashed TWRP, wiped system, data, cache, dalvik/ART. Aroma installer for Fenix seems to fail out at "Setting some symlinks failed." I thought it was an issue with internal storage. I reflashed stock and TWRP after full nand erase in Odin and reflash I tried adb sideload because setting the aroma installer to "hard wipe" freezes TWRP if the ROM is on the sdcard. This time flash success, but stuck in recovery loop on reboot due to it needing to nuke internal storage without failure.
So currently on stock and going to flash SuperSU and busybox, possibly because symlinking needs the root access and the restored ROM is not rooted yet when it tries. SuperSU is complaining about "Systemless install, boot image support required", but suceeds. I will give the ROM and kernel another shot as soon as I've rooted the stock ROM. Question is, do I allow TWRP system access when it asks?

[KERNEL][M] ODS Kernel r3

Hello all.
Today I am proud to bring you ODS Kernel for Android 6.0, based off FrancoKernel r33.
The purpose of this kernel is to build off of the amazing base that is FrancoKernel, and add a variety of passive patches, as well as some minimal features.
Features:
- Uses a Ramdisk based off of ChainFire's new SE Policy, meaning that we are able to leave SE Linux Enforcing, and retain Root
- Adds Kexec-HardBoot Flags to default build
- Disables some security check to allow (hopefully) for a full Kexec bringup in the near future (I'll be making an attempt at it, please PM me if you are interested in helping)
- Edits Ramdisk for additional MultiROM compatibility
- Built with custom ARM-EABI-4.6
- Adds partial ability to load kernel modules (in prep for aforementioned Kexec Module bringup)
- Everything included in FrancoKernel
To be implemented:
- Make use of ChainFire's new non-system altering root setup
- Allow for Wake gesture
- Allow for screen off gestures
- Add several binaries to ramdisk
Changelog:
- 8/31 - Happy Halloween!!!
Initial Release
Only setting that should be enabled by default is Charging LED, which can be disabled through any variety of Kernel Configuration apps.
I strongly recommend grabbing the FrancoKernel Updater app from the Play Store to support FrancoKernel's developer! If you want a free alternative, I recommend Kernel Adiutor (Not a misspelling).
To try the kernel, you can just "fastboot boot boo.img" To flash the image, you can use: TWRP Image Flash Option, "fastboot flash boot boot.img", or good ole' dd.

Flashed multiple times on Pure Nexus rom and couldn't ever get it to boot. Flashed from Franco kernel.. Anyone got this to boot? I installed through twrp and flashify and no go. Even tried Chainfire's boot image then su 2.52 then this kernel and no go. Bootlooped every time.
Maybe I need to do a full wipe and install that way?

ROM shouldn't have to be clean flashed. Clearing current kernel settings is always a good idea.

Like I said above, apologies, the one on git is broken.
Also, FYI, I test the kernel on both stock and PureNexus. It works beautifully on the 10/30 build of PureNexus, and even allows for Enforcing SE Linux, whereas Bean's kernel opts for Permissive.

Thank you sir. I redownloaded kernel from link in op as you said and boot image flashed fine in twrp.
Any plans to add Francos color control in? Like the presets like he has in FKU? I immediately missed that feature. Going to give her a run a few days and see what happens. Thanks for sharing!

Guide for the best battery life:
1. Install Greenify and enable it for all apps (this is the best option, but if you want notifications to come up without delay just don't apply it to app)
2. Open Developer options and disable logging
3. Install forcedoze app and configure it
4. Try not to use the highest brightness settings ;p
5. Youtube loves battery juice so better don't watch it frequently
6. Enjoy best battery life
Guide for the best performance:
1. Install Blackscreen kernel
2. Change governor to wheatley (OFC you can use other governors, for me Interactive gets the job done)
3. Open Developer options and disable logging
4. Make throttling temperature higher so that CPU won't drop mhz
5. Enjoy the best performance
If you want to report bug better bring logcat with you
When there is no OTA just don't scream I have private life too Ota can be canceled becouse of various reasons
But normally OTA will be at Saturdays
Enjoy one of the best ROMs you have ever seen

Android Ice Cold ProjectUnoffical Note 9 by OpenSauce9810
What is this?
This is the Android Ice Cold Project compiled for the Exynos Note 9. This is my daily driver as it's probably the smoothest oreo AOSP rom so far. I recommend enabling the android P animations in the settings.,
What's working?
Mostly everything, including dual speaker, home button, MTP.
What's not working?
Powering off - if you power off your phone completely the rom won't boot. You need to go to trwp and reboot to system to get back in. (I think)
Padding on status bar may be a bit close to the edges.
Let me know of any other issues.
Instructions:
Make sure TWRP has been installed and functional.
Download the latest build linked below
Reboot to recovery
Wipe data and cache (required if you switch from other ROMs). Even better if you have nothing to loose and wipe system, data, cache, storage etc
Flash the latest build (and gapps). GAPPS ARE NOT INCLUDED use opengapps 8.1.
Reboot and enjoy
Changelog:
25.10.2018 Initial Release
26.10.2018: Status bar padding fixed. Latest sources synced. General smoothness / performance improved (butter smooth now).
29.10.2018: High Touch Sensitivity Added, Adaptive Backlight Improvements, Sunlight Enhancement, Vibrator HW Improvement, Display Mode Control added to Display Settings.
08.11.2018: Synced to latest sources, S-Pen "rotation aware" fixed. Fixed an issue that was causing the phone to reboot 4 times before starting the ROM when flashing. (Unfortunately I forgot to fix the status bar padding so this is close to the edges again, will patch ASAP)
09.11.2018: Tweaked some default settings to improve experience, custom winter edition wallpaper, new boot logo. Status Bar padding won't seem to fix and idk why now. But it's not too bad on the note 9 anyway.

If you know a way to add this into AOSP Based ROMs I'll be happy to do so. But unfortunately I wouldn't know where to start I'm afraid. ?*
I asked you because it is the same as with crDroid. It is there. At least when you do a search in settings. But if you click on it it's not where it should be. see screenshot.
Btw very nice ROM. Thank you.

Flash vendor before you flash rom. If you flash Magisk you shouldn't need to flash noverity.

Hi, is the "gesture" option in the Navigation settings something like the Android pie gesture? Or it's something else?

GAPPS
First time installing crDroid to your Moto G4play, or coming from another ROM:
** Make sure you're running the latest TWRP Recovery
1) Copy crDroid zip, gapps zip to your device
2) Boot into Recovery
3) Wipe cache, system, & data (or just cache & system for a dirty flash).
4) Flash ROM
8) Flash gapps
9) Boot up
For root, AFTER you boot into the ROM, you can go back to recovery and install Magisk XX.x (whatever is most recent).
Upgrading from earlier version of crDroid:
The only difference between clean flash as above and upgrading is you just wipe system & cache, leaving data. Everything else is the same. ***Remember to always clean flash before reporting problems. Clean flashing is always the best method of ROM install.
Don't expect any support if you:
- are not running the included kernel
- have installed any mods such as Xposed!
- have modified system files

xt 1607 using the crDroidAndroid-9.0-20190113-harpia, clean wipe of system data cache. Will not install, I have installed several other custom roms on this phone via the latest TWRP. Gives the following error
Warning: no file contexts
E3004: This package is for device: harpia.harpia_retail: this device is .
Updater process ended with ERROR: 7
Error installing zip file /external_sd/crDroidAndroid-9.0-20190113-harpia-v5.0.zip
I reflashed the HARPIA_NPOS26.48-43-2.zip stock to make sure the device was stock as possible (minus unlocked bootloader and TWRP) error still occurred.
I redownloaded the zip file to make sure it was not corrupt, error still occurs.
Desperately wanted to try Pie on my Harpia with this ROM. Please help!

No the upgrade to the latest TWRP worked like a champ. ROM is booted and working great. Only issue I had was some irregularity with the camera but a restart seems to have cured the error.

Hi! Just wanna share with you Android 11 ROM builded for Sony Xperia X (will never die)
Many Thanks for development @Cubbins
I'm not responsible for any damage caused with your device after flashing this ROM. Flash only on your own risk.
This ROM bring us Treble support ( ARM64 A/B ) structure for all GSI images based on 11 Android. Just flash any GSI at System partition after it.
How to Install:
1) Copy ROM to SD card and flash with recovery
2) Download SW_BINARIES_FOR_XPERIA_ANDROID_9.0_2.3.2_V9_LOIRE.ZIP, unzip and copy image to sdcard too
3) Flash Binaries with recovery to OEM/ODM partition
4) reboot
5) After reboot we need to flash/format userdata partition. So, download it and flash with ADB: fastboot flash userdata userdata.img or fastboot erase userdata
6) reboot.
Warning:
We use /cache partition at thid ROM as a /vendor, so if you format /cache partition on recovery - you'll catch a bootloop.

Nice work dude. I am yet to flash but I appreciate your efforts. But I am using a custom rom already. Do I need to reflash stock rom before flashing your rom ? Is there any way to flash without sd card by using adb?

No, you don't. You can try flash from internal storage, but you can't flash rom with adb

Tomorrow I will build a new version with a fix, latest sources and kernel security patch.
Updated.
Changelog:
1) Fixed Calling
2) Fixed Music Playing
3) Fixed recovery (bug with AOSP recovery installing after reboot)
4) Latest Sources and security patch
Awesome work dude, never thought android R making it's way to xperia X..
Amazing, I never thought I will ever experience android 11 on this device. Thank you
Good job guys! Thank you!
I would be coming from Q TWRP 3.3.1, but selecting the zip to install gives E1001: failed to update system image. Is there something I am forgetting? (it already has the ODM partition flashed for Q)
You can try TWRP 3.4. It works fine for me.

Thank you it works with that.
Which gapps do you recommend? I tried NikGapps full but fingerprint unlock seems to be missing, also I couldn't encrypt the phone. It fails to mount userdata on next boot, and causes a bootloop on zygote. Also I have noticed a changed behavior with the new ODM partition, if the charger is connected it comes up on reboot in some factory flashing mode (just reports android in usb descriptor, and there is no fastboot or adb, and nothing on the screen)
Update: Fingerprint just works slightly differently, but works OK. Encrypt is the next to tackle.
Update2: So interestingly fingerprint unlock works, but use biometry option is missing from the apps. Is it related the device not being encrypted?

What do you think about everyday usage and battery drain?
I ask that because switching from Omnirom 7 to 8, battery sucking was a disaster.
Will this update solve my recovery 3.3.1 error 1 problem?
Twrp 3.4 doesn't work for me, I guess because I bought my device with Android 7 and the bootloader from 8 is required?
Or to put it another way: Will installing stock android 8 first solve my problem?

It's not a SODP-based ROM, it's a clean AOSP build. Any another custom ROM on this forum based on SODP or on the Stock fw, thats why it's a unical ROM with low battery consumption (like on a stock 8.0, maybe 5-15% more becouse of Android version and more optimisation by Sony's developers)

Yep, next update of this ROM will be compatible with old versions of TWRP recovery, becouse Pavel @Cubbins did a trick with symlinking new bootloader location with "ln" command to old bootloader path: /dev/block/bootdevice/by-name.

Yes you right. For any new ROM (begining from 9 Android) you need new bootloader on your device. It will be automaticaly update if you flash a stock 8.0 ROM with Emma or FlashTool

Hello @lubik1 . Does your rom suffer from the kernel panics that cause the random reboot problems or since it's pure Aosp it doesn't have it?
Thanks for your hard work!

Sometimes you can get kernel panic when you turn on the device. But while using android, I didn't observe kernel panic, but I have not run any stability tests yet, so everything is possible. I'm working on it.
