huawei sim unlock - Huawei Ascend Mate 2

hey there, I have a question. my brother gave me a huawei mate 2 phone which is locked to consumer cellular. is it possible to switch it to at&t service? consumer cellular is really sucks.
I have tried to unlock it using some free method on xda but it did not work
after doing some research I have found a huawei sim unlocking unlocking service where this phone is supported. just want to make sure before purchase, is anyone from forum members have used this service before? really don't want to spend money for nothing. please advice. thanks.

if the phone was used on CC and the account was in good standing, then they are required by law to provide the sim unlock code to you. If not the guy I used to use on eBay now wants $70.00 but he is the only game in town.

I disagree, the first step I would take is to call CC and be very nice and polite and request the unlock code so you might just be surprised what comes of it.

That thread only discusses how to get an unlock code from a third party/website charging and outrageous amount of money for something that should be free.
Personally I'd like to see the Dev's take on the unlocking rather than depending on a third party that I'd have to pay and get the rooting/unlocking procedure from them.

I called ATT and told them I travel a lot and need the phone unlocked. They told me I can get an Unlock code from them on August 22. The representative said he would give me right away, but when he typed my IMEI on the system that gives the unlock codes, a message showed that I could only get it by August 22.
At least thats something.
just called at&t to unlock for traveling over seas they said not until december.
That is true the only way you might be able to get one if you bought the device with out a discount meaning you paid full price.

Proof of purchase,
Nice might go this route and by the phone retail. Plan on doing that anyway.
Good to know they honor that.
Yeah. I sold my Captivate on eBay for $200 to offset the cost of the new phone. And Walmart's $520 off contract price is the best deal around. That leaves me $320 + tax for the new phone with NO contract extension.
Can be unlocked by AT&T, priceless

My process was a little more painful than yours. Yesterday I was on the phone with Customer Service for an hour, at the end of which they told me I needed to go into a corporate AT&T store with my proof of purchase (faxing was not an option), and they then would complete the request for the unlock code (I, too, travel frequently outside the US). So today I go into the store but unfortunately meet with the same resistance (i.e. "wait 6 months", "proprietary phone", "not our policy", etc.). Essentially it was almost an hour of:
AT&T: not possible
me: not acceptable
AT&T: not possible
me: not acceptable
AT&T: not possible
me: let me speak to your supervisor, please
[ hold ...... ]
AT&T: not possible
me: not acceptable
AT&T: not possible
me: not acceptable
AT&T: not possible
me: not acceptable
AT&T: not possible
me: well let me speak with someone who /can/ do it
[ hold ...... ]
AT&T (same person): Here's your unlock code, sir
Frustrating to say the least.
So, now I have the unlock code, but no instructions on how to enter the code into the phone. Would you, foxbat121, be so kind as to post the procedure so that I can get this thing unlocked? [ Thank you. ]

There are some wackey ways to enter unlock code. But I always keep a foreign SIM card around, even if it no longer works, just for this purpose (both enter unlock code and test if it works). So what I did was put in the foreign SIM card and power up the phone. It will ask you to put in the unlock code right away. See if you can find someone with T-Mobile phones to unlock and test your unlock code.

SIm Unlock T-Mob LG V10 purchased from Partner Purchase Program through Custom ROMs?

If you have gone through the other posts about sim unlock the T-Mobile LG V10, you must have come across users complaining that the Device Unlock app as well as the third party unlockers are not able to sim unlock some LG V10 phones, predominantly the ones that are purchased from the LG Partner Purchase Programs. Just want to check if there is any ROM that can help overcome this or can give the device unlock code popup when tried through the dialer? It's such a disappointment that I couldn't use this beautiful device on my network and struggling to find out a way for this unlocking.
For users who are having the same issue, do you think we need to go through an FCC Complaint for this?
I guess calling T-Mobile is of no help, no way they can add the IMEIs of such devices to the database?
I've been meaning to suggest this for a while. It's a huge longshot, because it seems to be limited to Samsung devices, but this fellow is able to unlock lots of their models by himself. I thought possibly someone could contact him and see if he might know anything about LG devices, or be up to the challenge of maybe tinkering with it. Wish I could be more helpful..

Hmm, I started a PayPal dispute with the seller and he declined mentioning PayPal will not consider buyer's remorse. Also since it was never used on a T-Mobile account, it isn't register in their databases. I am planning of taking a 100$ prepaid account, use it for 3 days, apply for unlock and then escalate the claim to PayPal as hardware issue. Will that work? Did anyone try this way with PayPal?
Did you try activating the phone by buying prepaid card? How did it go? I am facing same issue and looking for solution as well.

Question Unlock Galaxy S23 Ultra locked on Spectrum Network

UPDATE (11-JUN-2023):
sim-unlock.net is SCAM
A member here at xda advised me to try sim-unlock.net as he used their services many times before.
Long story short, I paid them €42 since 2 months and they scammed me. They didn't unlock nor refund me and they stopped replying to my emails.
I advise anyone who see my post to not use this website. It's a SCAM.
------------------------------
I bought a new s23 ultra from ebay but it's locked to Spectrum. I live in Ireland so I can't buy a spectrum sim and use it for 60 days so that spectrum would give me the unlock codes.
Do you know any *trustwothy* website that would unlock it?
Thanks
XDA doesn't allow for recommending or discussing unlock services.
OP if it was paid off in full, the seller should be able to get the unlock codes for you through Spectrum.

Unfortunately that's not always the case. I know from working for tmoible in the past that even if you paid upfront for the device before they would issue the unlock it HAD to be active on tmobile service for 45 days

Really?!! I didn't know about that. Where can I read the rules stating this?
I find that weird because unlocking is legal!
Also, I searched for similar posts before I post this and I see another post 1for a member who offer T-Mobile network unlocks :/

Whoops I misunderstood, unlocking is legal IF the device is paid off, and since XDA doesn't want to investigate everyone who posts about it to verify they aren't using a stolen device they just outright avoid that. it's uder their piracy/warez rules

Then I believe it's fine because I just bought the device brand new and it's even still SEALED!
I don't want to unseal it till I get this unlocking process settled.

Unfortunately that's not always the case. I know from working for tmoible in the past that even if you paid upfront for the device before they would issue the unlock it HAD to be active on tmobile service for 45 days

They can call and request a temporary unlock for travel. Have the seller call Spectrum and request a temporary unlock and say that they are travelling to Ireland for work for 60 days.

So, I can use my non-spectrum in Ireland for the period of those 60 days?
Then what? get locked again with no excuse this time? :/
The other issue is that a vast majority of the Unlock Services out there are scams, and XDA should not support those sites, links to those sites and discussions of those sites.
It's too much of a slippery slope and, honestly, for a Mobile Dev Forum, unlocking is not a subject they should get into.
Now, i am just talking about SIM unlocking.
Spectrum will issue you an unlock code if the device is paid in full. You need to tell them you are moving it to another provider.
My roommate did it just last week.
