I had a Samsung SD for over a year and one day after doing a nandroid backup with zcx TWRP, I got a backup failed and when booted up I was receiving corrupted SD error and was unable to format. After on my PC it would freeze and say unable to format. I got a new SD card but it was a cheap one from Amazon and now all of a sudden it says corrupted SD and Android fails to fix.
Could it be my Kenzo doing this or just bad luck with SD cards?

I was about to flash a rom so I did a nandroid to external SD. The operation aborted halfway through saying it couldn't backup one of the images. A nandroid to internal memory worked though so I wiped and flashed my rom.
On the next boot I got the "Damaged SD Card" message. Apparently, the card died in the middle of the process and it won't show up in any SD tools on my pc. Now, I do know that SD cards die every once in a while, just wanted to hear if anyone has heard of this happening in CWM before? I've only found this guy http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1950808 who found out that the flashing process on his S3 toasted whatever card was in the reader at the time.

I had the same problem but with 16GB
On SII specification you can read that it supports sdcards up to 32GB
But I'll try to help you
Check SDCard on another computer (if it reads it, make backup on HDD, Pendrive, etc. and then format it on FAT32) or another phone (it's not important on which). If it won't help, I'll think about it
[Q] Micro SD card error: "External card removed, insert new card" Can't mount.
Dear all,
i using mmx chd stock rom 4.2, rooted. my micro sd card Samsung 16gb class 6, not working. giving error: "External card removed, insert new card". In PC: can read, copy from sd card but can;t write, delete. while formatting in pc shows error "device is write protected". still under warranty.
I tried below: sd formatter, HP disk formatter, partition format, gparted, format by CWM,TWRP in recovery mode. can read file by root explorer&recovery mode. I found card is default to read, copy only. I tried changing permission to read, write, copy by root expolorer but all these failed. i think kernel problem. Still can't mount my micro sdcard. Tried all the means, with lost hopes from this group.
I understood its occured moving apps to sdcard via titanium backup. i read in rootwiki website that this happens when apps above 50 in sdcard? i also giving link below where similar problem occurred and given some solutions but didn't try as they are one year old,so couldn;t rely to risk trying those now. I hope you go through it and advise me. i think partition, kernel problem.

Hello again everyone, I have a 4gig sd card that I use with my s2 i9100, but for some reason Philz touch CWM recovery doesn't detect it. Now this happened before and I just formatted it via the storage settings on the phone, I then successfully did a nandroid backup to it. A few days later I planned on installing cm, so in preparation for that i decided to test out that backup just in case. But now the Sd card doesn't show up when I press restore and I cant mount it
.
Things Iv tried:
formatting it via storage settings (what worked last time)
formatting it using windows
doing the above again but this time dragging the copy of the sd card I made prior to the first attempt at formatting onto it
Edit: now the backup on my internal sd has gone missing, really confused about this one)
Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am not comfortable flashing without having a backup on the external sd
I tried using LG Backup over USB to copy the contents of my G5's SD card to another G5's SD card. I left the setup with the sending phone zipping the contents of its card. When I returned, there was a cryptic message saying the backup failed and that the SD card was corrupted. No file manager I tried recognized it.
However, my laptop was able to read the card. I used Acronis to image the card and copy the image to two new SD cards. After that, I was where I had wanted LG Backup to take me.
