Hey, I just got the LG G5. I noticed the chin is really sharp, and there are just sharp edges throughout the whole phone on the sides, but not as bad as the chin. I noticed on the bottom right near the chin my lcd was slightly lifted off and could see the backlight. I pushed it in and it hasn't popped back out yet, but I am guessing it's going to do the same thing later. The sharp edges I am talking about are where the metal strip is, not the LCD so I don't think that has anything to do with this.
I also have an LG g2 and that phone and is extremely smooth and nice to hold. Is this normal for the LG G5 to be so sharp?

No it's not normal, could you take a pic of it and show us?

I might be exaggerating, but it just feels odd to me an expensive device like this isn't completely flush.
With the flash on, the seam appears bigger than in real life, but it does help show what I am talking about:
Also, I bought the phone from ebay claiming it was new and sealed. I bought the titan variant of this phone, does yours also have a sticker on the back like mine with the serial and imei info? There was also a 32gb microsd card from Kingston in here, but I do not recall this phone advertising it came with a microsd card.

Clove sells a universal cut-to-fit mirrored screen protector from Echo, for £6 gbp. As if our HD's weren't sexy enough already. I'm going to try one of these. I think I'll just stick the full sheet on, then trim it with an exacto knife. But I'm worried about trimming the small receiver speaker hole. Any suggestions?
with a scalpel?a pointed one...
why not use the original screen protector as a template?
although i would imagine you will need a sharp blade, a good eye and a steady hand to not make it look like a pile of poop
i would think these protectors are meant for those screens that are recessed rather than full frontal (oo eerrr) like the HD is

I bought one of these on ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Mirror-Screen-P...h=item220335185106&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262
Fit is perfect (no camera hole), but the colours on screen are a bit weird and screen seems darker. Took it off after a week or so.
Ebay...

whats the screen like when backlit? is it clear? what about texture when scrolling and using stylus?
I had this installed on my HD 2 weeks back. looks nice and shiny, but thats all to it. (bought from ebay)
Drawbacks:
1. The mirror coating is not smooth all over, if u see the above pics, u will see distortion in image on the upper right corner.
2. Very Very bad under the SUN! i really have to cover it totally with my hand, or take it in under a shade to see the screen. (u win some, u lose some!) Good for a few days as a fancy, but then now i am going to remove it off and put a normal clear one again. Had it running all the time on Full brightness - load on battery too! Its good enough indoors with full brightness only, cant use the Auto Brightness control.
I have this on my wife's iphone too, which i got from Javoedge - very good quality that is, and no distortions, but it is a bit thick!

I really like the look of the blue case. Cheers for showing us these.
Looks like from doing a bit of research on google they are roughly a good $15-20 to buy so not too bad (that's Aussie dollars)

amazing... where i am buy in indonesia ?
Great case (I have one) although it doesnt cover much of the front of the phone ie front edges or buttons when lying face down on a surface and the camera/mic area is also exposed when lying down on a surface - otherwise excellent case.
Oh yea the right hand side of mine pops off and the case moves slightly back and forth over the phone causing scratches - the movement is solved with sticky tape between the back of the phone and the inside of the case.
I have incidentally since bought a Krusell case which is far far superior in many ways (see post) but does increase the size of the phone a lot more than this slim fitting profile Imak case.
P.S - dust/dirt getting between the back of the phone and the case can cause a sandpaper scratching effect between the hard surfaces and I used some sticky tape to stop the slight movement as the case moved over the phone to also stop the scratching (and the movement).
I have noticed recently that the paint on my HTC Radar is peeling off. I look after my phone, have no marks or scratches, but the paint has nearly all worn/peeled off on the front looking terrible. The phone is only 4 months old.
Here are a couple of pics of the paint wear...

The phone is kept in a jacket pocket (soft interior). The paint loss seems to be radiating from the screen, working its way further out.
I contacted HTC Support and got this response:
I’m sorry to hear that you are experiencing difficulties with the paint peeling from your phone.
My apologies, James, however this type of damage it likely not covered by the warranty as we do not cover wear & tear, meaning if this was put in for a repair you would most likely be charged.
I would suggest speaking to your insurance company or network provider to see if they can provide an alternative.

If this is how an HTC phone stands up to "wear and tear" - and is seen to be ok by HTC - then it will be the first and last one I ever own. My Nokia E71 went 3.5 years under heavy use and abuse without a mark to be found on the whole thing and is still going. My Radar is struggling to survive 3.5 months...
Has anyone else experienced this?
weird, I have the white Radar and never had any paint peel like that
that does give me an idea though, take some super super fine sandpaper and rub off the rest of the paint around the aluminum bits and polish it up, the shiny aluminum combined with the dark plastic would look awesome
The only little scratches I have come from a drop in the street..... But I don't expect anyone to match Nokia hardware.... Am I the only one who thinks this?
I have only experience this with my HTC Radar cases but not the phone itself. I have the White HTC Radar tho... looks like underneath the grey it really a white HTC radar painted grey.
Did you ever had it in contact with rubbing alcohol or heavy moisture area (that how one of my cases colour peeled off)?

Why is the upper right corner of the front protector cut off? To not cover the Nokia logo? I just dont see the point.

That pic does not represent what the actual zag looks like. I have the maximum body protector and it fits very well. I'll try to take a pic and post but I have no complaints on how the zagg is designed.
More likely there is a fold top right, but there's not enough detail to see it.
Here's the corner that you questioned. It's not cutoff like your pic illustrated. Zagg is holding up great so far.
Thanks for the replies guys. Bought Zaggs for front+back, and a kit from Martin Fields aswell to protect entire camera section on the back. Worried though as my Lumia 920 is White and apparently, Zaggs on White phones gets a blue tint from being in pockets (blue jeans) and in general wont appear "as white" as if its not on.

That's the reason why my phone is running around naked, now.

Put it on front and bought this for the back. But right now im replacing my phone (see this thread) so thats a nice waste of money, heh. Did however just get my martin fields, so that means I'll have a new screen protector plus protection for metallic Nokia logo+lens.
I just changed my Black 32gb to white. Much easier than I thought! I guess I'm on the only one with a white 32gb ?.
I ordered all the parts on eBay. Rear housing, white fingerprint scanner, and white SIM tray.

Nice! 6P got awful repairablilty scores but it's really not bad at all. I think most people are just scared to heat it up enough to soften the glue and they wind up shattering the camera glass prying on it. I changed mine from aluminum to black. I left the aluminum fingerprint sensor though. Edit- Looks like we use the same cheapo Stanley heat gun too.

Lol yup, I think we do. I was nervous too due to the repair scores. I watched a few videos and it seemed pretty easy. Changing the fingerprint scanner was super easy to. It did help I had a screen separator tool too. I'm really happy with the white!

nicely done, one day i will get a replacement so i can keep for any repairs after my nexus protect expires.
I picked up the graphite because I didn't want to spring for the 64gb to get white.. I'm happy with it.. But that is one creative way to get white on a 32gb, well done!!
