Ya, I don't believe that for a second. Never heard of that website and there are bigger sites like androidauthority.com and androidpolice.com that would've reported this. Until I see it on there I highly doubt this is true.

I really hope you are right. It would not make sense for this relatively new phone not to get it.

Man chill out, those are fake news. It is 100% sure that our V10 will get nougat update. You just have to wait after G6 goes to sale.

I have had lg phones for awhile but the V10 will be my last lg product. The lg g3 an LG G2 were both very good down hill from there although I love the V10 it just isn't supported by devs or lg.

Don't they use CB radios to chat in the South?

"When asked by an XDA member regarding the availability of the OS for the 2015 flagships, the rep said that there won’t be a Nougat release for these phones in South Korea."
I'm pretty sure all of us here outside of South Korea are safe and will get the update in due time.

Hope

Was really hoping for the V10 to be updated to nougat

I just saw a post on Reddit that was as legit and as clear as possible that yes 7.0 is coming to the V10.

When it comes to update , don't trust them unless it has been officially announced.
Hope you read about what happened in Estonia recently .!
I don't see a big reason to jump from 4.1.2 to 4.3 ! It would have been better , much better if it were Kitkat.

DUDE you have to be Positive
this is straight from AT&T they said that the update is Done and they are testing it for bugs
first 4.3 Then 4.4
I highly doubt about OG updated to 4.4 !! Considering the LG update policy.
SOmehow I find it hard to believe or rather say "trust" in the support agents.
But if this is true , and is on it's way soon . Then its good.

Well I guess we'll find out by next Spring if they were lying.
Some random CS agent on a chat is hardly surefire proof that there will be an update for this device. It's dead as far as ATT is concerned. They've already forgotten about the people who bought the G2, which is 2 generations newer than this device. Just hang out here, use the awesome ROMs that our devs bust their ass to build, and enjoy a device that is better than ATT could ever make it.

If there's news about G2 getting updates , but no news about OG , then it's probably the End.

But if its real, then it would be great!
It has been almost 2 months since the original post and there is still no sign that LG Optimus G will be updated to KitKat. Doesn't matter, I already did my own update to 4.4.2 a month ago and it has been running smooooothly.

I dont care if the carrier releases it(it would be nice tho) just as long as an official LG optimus G rom is out there I will put it on my phone. I just love the LG UI. I am using a cm11 which is pretty good
Actually, E970 should get Kit Kat earlier than the other variants
LG has already updated the User Agent Profile on its official website:
Old http://gsm.lge.com/html/gsm/E970-M6-D1.xml
New http://gsm.lge.com/html/gsm/E970-M10-D1-KK.xml
G Pro now has a similar profile and it has been updated recently:
http://gsm.lge.com/html/gsm/E980-M10-D1-KK.xml
You can try to put different numbers instead of "970" and check corresponding UAPs

Basically, these links detail backend support details about the system for the official E970 KitKat ROM. It doesn't really contain anything particularly useful per se, but the fact that it exists shows that official KitKat Does exist for the E970.

Yeah, I don't expect this at all, with how bad LG is with updating their phones, plus AT&T pushing an update out on a phone this old. I really hope they do, but I have no hope they will.
Still no news about the update for e970. :/
But the official kitkat port is really smooth and stable. I'm grateful that we have such awesome developers working for our device.
im having trouble with messaging threads on Paulicat's but other than that and wifi shutting off every once and a while the rom is better than an lg/att release of it. Their release would have too much bloatware.

[Q] Any install the new G3 update?

I saw that there was a software update for the G3. I saw it at gsmarena but I am unable to post a link.
I downloaded the LG Support Tool, but my Sprint G3 cannot connect because the tool does not have drivers for the LGLS990. It is supposed to improve battery life and speed up the UI, basically getting rid of any perceived lag.

LS990ZVC in the works

OK, unless they're rolling back the version machine this is just a shell. But it does tell us something in the works.
device.sprintpcs.com/LG/LS990-SPRINT/LS990ZVC.rdf
Now, 2 possibilities: Some sort of urgent fix for both the G3 and G4 (since they both now have one in the oven) is one.
Second one is that the fluffy stuff - already reported on LG's own site as in the works - is coming.
Don yer tinfoil hats folks and speculate away!

Could you please elaborate on the fluffy stuff? BTW the ZVC.rdf has been out there for a long time, almost as long as the last update for the lg g3. See the following http://device.sprintpcs.com/LG/LS990-SPRINT/latest still no release though.
P.S. I'm hoping that it has something to do with boost mobile hopefully adding the g3 to the approved devices list.
I'll just stick to speculating it's the monthly security updates LG said it would start doing. Shame Sprint will drag their feet so it won't really be current. Oh and Monthly or so updates are gonna be darn annoying dealing with rerooting and all that jazz.

The ZVC RDF was posted around the 17th of October. Almost 3 weeks ago, so it's not am old RDF. They have not changed barely anything in the RDF since the initial release, and ZVB was listed the same way, and it was still 5.0.1. The only important thing the RDF shows is that someone at Sprint is working on an update. Who knows what version the actual update will be.

It's not the G3 but it is 6.0. Being that the current firmware for the G3 is ZVB let's assume that 4.4.2 listed on ZVC is just because they haven't fully updated the rdf page. I don't see why they would release 5.1 instead of just skipping it for 6.0.

Lots of self supporting going on there. I wouldn't be so confident. But, you, know more than I, clearly, about some stuff.
the readme in the source says download 5.0.1_r1 source and merge. thats the same as zva said, i believe. and the ZVB Build is using build LRX21Y which is somewhere between 5.0.0_r7 and 5.0.1_r1. hmmm

I probably average at least one rom flash every month anyway, so I guess I do get monthly updates. There's probably nothing in the monthly updates I worry about anyway.
Android needs a better way to get updates universal instead of device dependant.

Not just device dependant either. Some phones only get updates from the carriers and that can be pathetic. Carriers are quick to mark a phone "end of life" and when that happens forget any updates. Smartphone manufacturers are also beholden to cell phone carriers, who can delay updates by months on their networks. Also, Android can be a bit of a mess since any manufacturer can make a smartphone or tablet, throw Android on it, and release it. So, the things that make Android so great are also some of the same things that hold it back in some areas.
