In screenshot I see lineage kernel but no mention in credits...
also isn't lineage based on aosp too? for example NULL kernel that is for aosp based rom works on lineage...
I'm not getting the difference.
maybe
This rom is using device specific code from lineage(anik) and base system from aosp(google)

Lineage based on AOSP? AOSP-CAF.
Don't get headache from "lineage" kernel version as the kernel is compiled from the same source as LineageOS kernel tree. Also, we could boot kernel compiled from LineageOS kernel tree on AOSP based ROMs (just try boot NULL kernel with this ROM).

That's why I supposed that lineage wass also aosp based, now googling aosp-caf
EDIT: lokking for aosp-caf found this in changelog of cypherOS 3.6:
Complete rebase on AOSP/CAF 7.0 (HAL)
so to me looks like really close to lineage, aoscp not based on lineage but both based on aosp/caf and both with same kernel.

On the beginning, cypher was lineage based, but now is aosp-caf based...
Thats why "the rebase on AOSP/CAF"
I think you could use NULL Kernel here, just try

Or try the zpx kernel with this rom, really good ?

Just because we have commits from cyanogen / lineage doesn't mean we're based on them. Every ROM shares code with each other. Lineage has some commits from AICP, does that mean they're based on AICP? This is an unofficial build with unofficial device sources. That has nothing to do with the ROM and what it's based on. I've compiled other ROMs with lineage kernels, that doesn't mean they're based on lineage.
Lineage is based on AOSP/CAF 7.1.1. We use AOSP as a base with CAF 7.0 HALs, just as well as many other AOSP ROMs. To be based on lineage you must be something like AICP or CrDroid or RR. They get all of their updates from lineage instead of upstream AOSP. When security patches or new Android releases come out, they have to wait for Lineage to merge them so they can. AOSP ROMs don't. We can merge it right from AOSP and be fine with it.

Thank's I've asked because of my ignorance about the differences from an aosp based rom and lineage based.
I didn't mean that this is based on lineage I just saw lineage mentioned in the kernel and not in the credits and this made me think that it is an aosp based on lineage like RR or AICP at first (also because I've read somewhere that aosp was discontinued and CM was the only one from where all the other roms were based).
Then I've found the changelog and discovered that AOSP is just one part and found out CAF stuff and now I learned also a new thing that the CAF in lineage is different from the one you are using.
So thankyou all for clarifications and sorry if my post were written in a way that could be misunderstood. :highfive:
EDIT: Uh, sorry but I've another question now...
if this rom is based on CAF 7.0 why in the title there is [7.1.1] are those different things?

We merged in Android 7.1.1, therefore were based on Android (AOSP) 7.1.1. I think you need to do some research on exactly what CAF is just to get the best possible understanding. CAF isn't Android in itself.
CAF is a Qualcomm framework that is used to get devices other than Nexus or Pixel running Android. Without CAF, your device and no other Qualcomm device would be able to run Android or any ROMs for that matter and if you could it would be super buggy and laggy or probably wouldn't even boot

It's really minimal tbh, doesn't really have much feature, and doesn't lag like the cyanogen camera, I don't take photos much so it's perfect for me, if you want a camera with nice manual functions then I guess you won't like it

Hi Bacon Community!
Let's keep this short and simple...
I will be regularly building and uploading OmniRom 6.0 and Slim6 builds to this thread.
OmniRom is built with stock Omni trees.
Slim6 is built with Sultanxda's CAF based trees.
Optimized with JustArchi's ArchiDroid Optimizations V4.1 - Unleash the power!
READ BELOW
When reporting bugs, please state which ROM it is, the build date, and what GApps!

I recommend using OpenGApps or SlimGApps. Other GApps are untested by me so check the thread before complaining about bootloops!
I will probably be adding small features like Viper4Android, SnapdragonCamera, etc. in future builds, but don't ask when because you won't get an answer!

The very first Omni build is up! This one uses completely stock sources with no modifications at all. Sadly, I will not be able to provide changelogs for every build at the moment because it will just take waaay too long. Once I get things going and the changelog script working, then I will start posting them. Happy flashing!

I'm positive that it uses oppo camera libraries because of the shared proprietary vendor.
Eagerly awaiting the slim builds! Right now on Sultans ROM, but need slim features ?

The ROM is very, very fast and the ColorOS camera k2 works great ?
Tnx @YoshiShaPow ??
Any chance getting the gesture typing work with omni builds? I never install GAPPS, but with slim 5 gesture typing worked fine. Sometimes the solution was to copy approriate ljn_latinimegoogle.so file into /system/lib folder, but it doesn't help with omni 6.
What to do? Typing without gesture typing is really slow. Installing privacy pervasive GAPPS is out of question, nor installing any apks.
Thank you already in advance!

What GApps are you using?
I have read the full OP, and I know that you're currently building unmodified Omni source. Does this mean that at this stage, your build, and herna's are the same? Do you plan to add your own modifications, or just continue to build from source? Sorry for the newbie question. I hate to pollute development threads.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Herna's source is slightly modified (I know he builds SnapdragonCamera rather than the stock camera app). Other than that, it's pretty much the same. I will be adding things later on.

What is AOKP?
AOKP stands for Android Open Kang Project. It is a custom ROM distribution for several high-end Android devices. The name is a play on the word kang and AOSP (Android Open Source Project). The name was sort of a joke, but it just stuck, just like our infatuation with unicorns.
We fork the source code of Android that Google puts out in the open with every major version release, and we then add the magical unicorn bytes (read: we add some of the coolest features that are both useful and make your ROM awesome).
With AOKP, you can generally do a lot more with your device than what you could do with the original firmware that came installed on it.
Why AOKP ?
We were waiting for when you’d ask this.
There are a variety of reasons why a hilly billy Android user, on a bright sunny day, would suddenly start using AOKP and loving it.
For one, AOKP is lightweight. Most OEMs provide a heavy UI layer over Android and have loads of bloatware (i.e. apps that not everyone use every day, but you cannot remove because they’re “baked in” by default). Since AOKP is built upon vanilla Android source, it has neither of the above.
Also AOKP has features that you will not find on your stock firmware. You can have a multitude of toggles to quickly flip a lot of your phone’s settings right at your fingertips, or you can launch apps quickly from any screen using our Ribbons.
You can change almost each and every aspect of the OS, from its looks to the way it functions, with total freedom. And did we tell you, AOKP helps you make tacos?

I'm a bit confused reading the title:

What does this stand for? At a first glance, it seems to be a "normal" kernel without any tweaking options.

Exactly the opposite: I picked the LOS kernel, added with all ElementalX optimizations and features and some commit from Team-M8.
Here explained the title (hope!). If you can wait some hour for next build (http://build.aokp.co/dibs/) it will have all the latest upgrades and updates.
You can take a look in detail here: https://github.com/AOKP/kernel_htc_msm8974/commits/nougat

Here explained the title (hope!). If you can wait some hour for next build (http://build.aokp.co/dibs/) it will have all the latest upgrades and updates.
You can take a look in detail here: https://github.com/AOKP/kernel_htc_msm8974/commits/nougat

Can I use the img in any other rom?
I see now that the movement requirement for DT2W is gone!
It's so awesome!

That one is missing in almost all nougat roms...

On next build S2W is enabled, together with other features. I'll do a list in OP.

Have some doubt about usability of mine kernel img on other rom... but you can try on other LOS based.
Yep, I hate HTC movement require. Now no more needed, thanks elementalX.

AOKP didn't remove SU. We like open source stuff.

Nice ROM, very smooth, thanks. But I miss normal night mode (with scheduler as in cypherOS) instead LiveDisplay and Selinux permissive support in kernel (for ARISE modules using, e.g. AM3D).

[8.1.0][SANDERS][ROM] Resurrection Remix v6.2.1 (UNOFFICIAL)

This is a lightly customized variant of Resurrection Remix for the Moto G5S Plus (sanders). I aim to build at least once a month, ideally soon after each monthly security update is merged into the RR tree.
On top of the official version of Resurrection Remix for sanders (which is already great!), there's a handful of tweaks I've made:
Lightly-customized kernel based on RR stock
Power-efficient workqueues
NVIDIA's "relaxed" power-optimized functions
Bringup to 3.18.124
TurboPower charger support
ARCore smart selection model files
Slightly improved APK read performance
GSS garbage collection for ART
Zopfli-compressed APKs conserve space on system partition without incurring additional performance overhead
Enabled use of SIMD instructions (armv8 NEON) in aac/amrwb/h264 codecs
Tweaked some OpenGL ES wrapper methods from regular JNI to fast JNI, which should reduce JNI overhead
ScrollView tweaked for responsiveness
JNI, DisplayService, Vulkan, and OpenGL built with -O3 (yes, this may or may not be a gimmick - figured it was worth a shot)
ROM DownloadPatcher Download (all tweaks used on top of official RR)
Instructions
If coming from a ROM other than Resurrection Remix, you should factory reset before flashing this ROM. Otherwise, you are advised to wipe system, cache, and Dalvik cache partitions before continuing, although a dirty flash without any wiping will probably work too.
If you're coming from official Resurrection Remix, you should probably be able to dirty flash from the latest official version at all times.
After flashing, flash Gapps/Magisk other mods that you want to use; this ROM does not include any of those things.
FAQ
Does this ROM support VOLTE?
If the official release has it, this should too; I did not (and don't know how to) make any changes regarding VOLTE. It did disappear for a short while at the end of the 6.0.0 versions, for some reason, but it seems that it's been added back. Of course, VOLTE support is dependent on your network connectivity/regional availability and your carrier.
Does this ROM support WiFi calling?
Yes. Check in the dialer settings. Again, this feature is dependent on your carrier. Not all carriers that claim to support WiFi calling on your device may work with this ROM.
Does this ROM have GApps? Magisk?
No and no. Flash them yourself if you want to use them.
Yes, this post is kind of ugly. I might make it better later, but everything you need to know is more or less here.

I'm not sure what you're referring to, so I think the answer is probably no. If you could link me to what you're talking about, that would be appreciated.

No worries! My wording is complicated there and I should probably fix it. No, this is not somehow modified from the actual .zip that Resurrection Remix officially distributes. This is built from the Resurrection Remix sources. "From scratch", if you will. This is also not based anyhow off of the official stock Oreo ROM from Motorola (as suggested by the thread that you linked).

Please do. I'm curious if the battery is good, is the ROM stable, and hows the overall experience compared to other ROMs or even the official latest rr.
People seem to want screenshots for some reason. Here's a bunch. Customizations mostly.

Battery us good. The ROM is stable and buttery smooth.
There are many customizations which are not present in the official RR.
With the integration of Alice kernel things have become too much good.

Nothing to worry about. Just a notification that SELinux is permissive. This is part of the new Trust interface that LineageOS has implemented (which has trickled through to RR).
I like this ROM a lot, but I've got a few issues. I have to use Universal Safetynet Fix to pass SafetyNet, otherwise I get a CTS Profile Mismatch error. With USF flashed though, I get a vendor mismatch error on startup (which I can just dismiss). Additionally, on every boot I am asked to select my launcher even if I have saved it.
Possibly better EIS performance? Yes and no xD
Long time ago, some users flash a Magisk Module for MI A1. The module add enable EIS and tweak a little with other lines. Im only take persist line to enable EIS and share a zip to the Sanders Telegram group. Its a parcial solution, tested on 720p/1080p but on 4K not get working. Good work bro and like more that type of thread, no ugly, "minimal" style

First off, this ROM is the best I've used on any device! Shut up and take my MFin money!
Second, sir, how'd you get that transparent theme going there? I'm looking while waiting for a response

Welcome to Team OpenKirin AOSP Project. Our goal is to provide
a overall stable AOSP experience across all Huawei/Honor phones
utilizing a Kirin SoC and EMUI 8.0 - either updated or shipped.
So far most of the bugs have been fixed and the ROMs are fully usable
as daily driver - and fully Kirin optimized.
This is the device support section for: Honor 7X.
Any bugs found on this device(s) can be reported here, please include proper logs if you encounter any issues.
We support 3 ROMs in total as of now - LineageOS (Unofficial), ResurrectionRemix OS (Official from Beta 2+), OmniRom
You can find all needed guides/roms on our official website:
mod edit: link replaced with archive.org one

I installed lineage os beta4 in my honor 7x (BND-AL10) like 1week ago using the same steps you guys mentioned in the openkirin site,I noticed 2major bugs-
1)the screen won't turn on when unlocked like for 10sec,and sometimes I need to reboot my device to unlock my phone that is irritating.
2)serious battery drain, false battery percentage, taking too much time to charge.
I have none of those issues on my BND -L24. Only issue I have found is Bluetooth skipping when streaming over WiFi.
Thanks for the development OpenKirin team! Any hope of portrait mode coming?
Android changed so much in the last oreo update ... you basically now need a stock recovery to have a custom rom ... wow
My question is : Does the rom flash a custom recovery with it ? say for installing Gapps or any flashable zip
EDIT : after some research i discovered that Gapps are included ... at least the play store is which is nice but i still have a question : can i flash this rom using fastboot method BUT having twrp instead of stock recovery ? just to be safe incase someting goes wrong during flash

I don't get why people always ask for VoLTE. If you need that feature enough to ask for it repeatedly, stick with the stock ROM. Since the developers didn't add it, there's obviously a reason they didn't do it, and bugging them for it won't change anything except annoying them more.

I am using stock rom. I crazily dislike the stock rom and wanting to change it, so i am looking for custom roms, and found out that none of the custom roms support volte. I didnt know whether it has been requested repeatedly or developler added it or not as i just started collecting information about root and custom rom stuff.
But your rude behaviour made me stop unlocking my bootloader, as it seems that i womt get any support from xda in future. Thanks for saving my warranty.
Does these AOSP based ROMs support VOLTE Video calling from default dialer?
Can someone tell me why I would want to use the OpenKirin version of RR instead of the [GSI][8.1.0][OFFICIAL] Resurrection Remix O v.6.1.0 [08/18][ARM/ARM64] version posted in the XDA Treble forums? What are the benefits?

Simply because team openkirin builds have hisilicon Kirin chipset based patches which are not present in regular GSI .... & Also, In RR official website, you'll find the Kirin based GSI... Both are maintained by openkirin team. Same build ...

For those who want to try an OpenKirin Pie build, there is one available here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/pr...9-0-0-android-p-pixel-features-kirin-t3833879
Its been so long this device is available and AOSP et.al. is still "beta" on this one...
will 8X better supported than 7X?

What are you talking about? All the GSIs are supported on this device.
Time for the next build?
Any updates to OpenKirin builds? rocking AOSP build but prefer to land a dedicated honor build for 7x when it becomes stable.
How would subsequent updates work? Do they get pushed via OTA or would we have to check back and flash manually? Completely unfamiliar with Treble ROMs and how they work
ould anyone tell me the storage used for the RR build when fully flashed? Looking to ditch stock rom. thanks in advance

Just a quick update, that GSI is out of date and the one who made it is no longer an OpinKirin member. You will probably be better off trying out another Pie GSI in the Treble forums if that's what you're looking for.
