Battery life... - Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 Questions & Answers

I have been using my redmi note 3 since October and been satisfied with every aspect of the phone but now a days my battery isn't cutting the mark. I usually used to get 8 to 9 hours of screen on time but now it had decreased to 6 to 7 hours . I had miui 8.1.4.0 global stable rooted and battery was rooted and then it started to degrade installed fresh lineage os on dual boot and still the same. Using radon kernel 4.0 on both lineage and miui . I saw a screenshot of aosip it had freaking 4hr 45 mins of screen on time and battery left was 75%!!!!!!!!
What can I do to get back my battery again??????

upgrade the radon kernel to 4.0, im using it and its pretty good..right now im on 30% 7h12m SOT rr r5.8.2

I think there something and btw i have radon kernel l 4.0 installed but still it does not give the battery life i expect

If you have a backup of the original kernel then restore it and install radon kernel again. Or dirty flash the ROM if not.
P.S: It's weird this happens to you, on the first full charge i've seen increased my battery life in 2-3h+ of SOT with Radon 4.0.

i ask here my doubts. i have RR rom 5.8.1 but i don't understand if the kernel of this rom is "stock"...but what kind of stock? a slightly optimized stock kernel?
what's the difference between using a custom kernel with the modded governors behaviours, if i ALSO use L-speed app or gov-tuner flashable zip? do they interfere each others?

By "stock" I mean the kernel that was before you flashed radon. You can flash the ROM again with only wiping cache and dalvik cache to restore it.

(Help) Getting 2% Battery Drop Bug

Hi guys,
I am using R.R 5.7.4 Last Build with Agni Kernel v5 The latest one but i m still getting that 2% battery drop bug which is present in this Rom. Also this is present in Lineage Os 13 too with agni kernel. now i don't want to change my Rom and kernel beqcuase it take too much time to setup the rom again and again...so any fix for that ? I like Agni kernel because of its performance its pretty good. So please if some knows how to fix it please help.
Thanks

Will this solve the problem or it will remain ? As on Many ROMs and kernels thread i saw that every body recommend flashing a custom kernel solves this problem
What twrp do you use ? I think it may be a problem . Try to another twrp

Zcx twrp... I use always
my problem is bug -2% on latest stock rom MIUI but it is ok if im using custom rom like RR N or Lineage 14.1.
what I can do now is by flashing latest Radon kernel, it fixed for temporary. Means if I update using OTA, the problem will comes again.

Short battery backup

Hey, I've a very short battery backup, on an average one percent lasts 3 minutes with less than 1/4 brightness, I'm running MIUI developer ROM(global beta/ weekly).
I'm running stock kernel.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks :good:
Try Nitrogen OS + Radon laterst kernel for custom roms

Nitrogen os stable build + radon 4.0V is best combination so far. I havent faced any major fc's except on camera and flash light which will be fixed only when xiaomi release their source code for nougat kernel which in my opinion is not happening anytime soon

Radon v.4.0 is also available for Miui

I've installed nitrogen os with the stock kernel and there's a huge improvement. I want to ask that does changing kernels really work?

Yes, gives you alot of options to tweak. Also it fix some issues with the goodix fp.
I got 14h SoT yesterday on NOS
By the way, you should use stock kernel with it...it has all tweaks you need

I've got the 6h too, I'm gonna test Pixel 3 with Franco kernel. I'm thinking on installing MIUI 10 when it comes out later.

What Custom Kernel Are You Using?

So, there are some custom kernels available for the Poco and I just want to ask the community which of them are you using and why?
Franco kernel.. ever since its 1st release up.to thw latest r17 release.. simply smooth.. fluid for gaming..no hangs or lags or hiccups what so ever.. even though it doesnt give you a high antutu score. Only about 275-280k.. this kernel is stable. And battery friendly without hogging too much battery
Derp Kernel, simply, clean, great battery life and overall feels really smooth I can tell.
I'm coming from FrancoKernel too, and I was getting worse battery life, besides, when I flashed Derp Kernel I felt the device smoother than before with FK, maybe this is a placebo effect, maybe, everyone should give it a try.
Derp or sphinx???
Shadow is good but most of the kernels for poco are

I actually don't flashed any kernel but With my current daily driver Nitrogen OS I got NitroKernel + which gives me actually better battery than Stock kernel when using thermal mode in Nitrogen os settings that help me greatly. I will say try this nitrogen rom with its own kernel and I'll say you'll never need to look for any othe kernel.

+1 for Nitrogen and Nitro Kernel. Stable rom, great kernel. I used sphinx before, also stable and great battery life. But after last update, I'm too lazy to flash another kernel.

Best rom for battery life

What is the best rom for battery life and good performance. And are miui based roms better than aosp based roms ?
i've tried LOS , PE , global Beta and Miui.eu Betas and i'd say LOS gives the best battery life of the bunch...
if you pair LOS with a kernel like franco and do some underclocking , u should be able to achieve superb battery life and very long SoT... i personaly achieved 12+ hours consistently on LOS and that was with some gaming...
miui.eu is a pretty close second in my experience and the worst of the bunch was PE
