Bluetooth Priority? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have several bluetooth devices that are connected to my phone at various times.
- A home phone base station
- Bluetooth headset
- Samsung Gear S3
- and my car.
I want ensure that either my car, bluetooth headset or home phone base station always have priority for answering phone calls to my watch. Which should still receive phone calls if it is the only device connected at any given time.
Any thoughts on how to accomplish this?

No answer for this? How is this so overlooked?

BT GPS feature on a BT HEADSET.

i have a BT-Q818 and one cool feature it has is that it goes on stand by mode once there is no connection. this is the case when i step out of the car. and whenever i start driving again, i seem to have had no pairing issue.
question is, is this FEATURE available on any BLUETOOTH HEADSET? reason being is that i only use my BT HEADSET when i drive and im getting tired with my current HS810 where its a hit and miss. sometimes it would pair and sometimes it would not.
thanks for any input guys.
Upon disconnection, the Nokia HS12-w displays "disconnected". Pressing the play button for a couple of seconds causes it to reconnect (I suspect to the last device it was connected with, but am not sure about that - I can test it if you like).
But even if you switch it off and back on, there is no need to pair again: it just starts searching for paired devices and connects with one of them (alas, no choice regarding what device it connects with, but it does seem to prefer Nokia devices over HTC ones).
The first connection it makes is as a headset (only calls are routed throught it, other sounds still come from the HTC). After pressing another button it also connect as an A2DP device and all sounds from the HTC are routed to it.

Bluetooth in car with two devices

I have two bluetooth devices in my car.
1) the factory bluetooth hands free set for phone calls
2) blackberry gateway stereo that connects to media to stream whatever im playing through my aux connection
I had a droid incredible and it would auto connect to both devices when I turned bluetooth on, it was beautiful.
Now with the Razr it only connects to the phone audio and I have to go into the bluetooth settings and click the stereo gateway for it to connect to it as well.
This is a pain, does anyone know of anyway whatsoever to have the bluetooth connect to both devices automatically when I switch bluetooth on. I do have the tasker app if that helps, but I have read that the app cannot physically connect a device.
Smart actions are worthless in this situation. The only reason I know this is possible is because I did it with a phone over 2 years old for all 2 years I had it.

Android-to-Android Bluetooth Profiles

Hi everyone,
I am an owner of the GSIII I747M and the ASUS Transformer, both running ICS. I recently had this idea (fantasy?) where I mount the Transformer in my car, hook it up to the car speakers and basically use it as my in-car infotainment system instead of the headunit that's in there. Nothing wrong with my in-car headunit (except the fact that I can't get bluetooth to work with my GSIII), but the tablet will give me tons more features. When I enter the car, I want the tablet to automatically tether to my phone via wi-fi and via bluetooth. Wi-fi is for internet access and it works just fine. The bluetooth is for the hands-free profile, so that when I receive a call, the music/navigation/whatever gets interrupted and I can take the call. I also want to be able to dial from the tablet.
When I connect the two devices via bluetooth, I don't have a hands-free profile; indeed I have no useful profiles at all. My question is simple: is there an app for that? Any suggestions? Has anyone done this? Thanks!

[Q] Making/receiving calls using tablet connected to car bluetooth

Hi,
I have a 2012 Mazda6 that doesn't have a navigation system. I regularly use my phone (Droid Maxx) for waze/music/phone calls through the car's built in bluetooth. I'm interested in mounting my tablet in my car basically because it has a much larger screen (LG G Pad 8.3). However, I'm pretty sure my car's bluetooth can only be connected to one device at a time, so if my tablet was connected to the car bluetooth I wouldn't be able to receive calls.
I'm planning on using my phone as a wifi hotspot for my tablet to transfer data, but I was wondering if there was a way to:
1) Switch the bluetooth connection from the tablet to my phone when I receive a call. OR
-I'm fairly handy with tasker so this might be a possibility?
2) Use an app to take/make calls from my tablet.
-Tablet talk (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.apdroid.tabtalk) may be a solution, but does anyone know that if I prompt to make a call through the buttons on the steering wheel that it will be able to make a call from tablet-> phone?
There was some discussion here, but the thread has been inactive for over a year: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1097219&page=3
Any help/advice would be appreciated! Thank you in advance!!

Mate 10 Pro - Bluetooth woes

It's a long post - sorry please bear with it..........thanks
Performed a firmware update couple of weeks ago see thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-10/help/mirrorshare-stopped-t3731964 and all seem well until 2 days ago.
All revolves around bluetooth:
Background:
I have 3 devices which I use regularly for BT connections
Huawei Watch 2 (came with phone )
Car (phone calls only)
BT Headset (Sony SBH52) - used for Music only (my car will not play music over BT so I have my BT headset connect to the AUX port)
Limitation:
A phone can only connect to 2 BT devices at once (as far as I know/have witnessed)
Scenario
Phone is always connected to watch
Get in car - phone auto connects to car BT.
I manually connect phone to BT headset - it drops connection to watch so now my phone is connected to car for phone calls and headset for playing music.
GREAT This works for me and all is OK...and has been working OK for last couple weeks. (I used to use this method with my Nexus 6P and had no issues - I didn't have the smartwatch2 then)
Up until 2 days ago
Phone kept losing connection to BT headset - it would connect and then immediately drop
I couldn't do anything in BT settings on my phone (such as disconnect or forget).
Did all the normal stuff - BT on/off : headset on/off - no change.
"Forgot" BT connection for car.
Headset still had same issue.
Finally removed connection for headset.....reconnected to car BT.
Car BT then started dropping
Finally 'forgot' BT connection for car
Watch appears connected OK however it used to display in the drop down menu what BT device I was connected to - now it doesn't.
The BT symbol also used to have little marks at the side of it to show it was connected to a device - now it doesn't
When I look in BT settings on phone I see my device listed however I am unable to "forget device" or tell if it is connected - only way I can tell if connect is check on the settings on watch which say that it is paired and connected - plus I do get all the alerts on my watch so it's definitely connected and working.
I have factory reset watch, phone, car system and BT headset - still have the issue
Any ideas?

Was it a bundle? Or how did you get the watch?

It was a bundle with Vodafone UK - first 1000 customers to order phone on a monthly contract received HW2
Further testing/info
After another factory reset of the phone and a 'disconnect & reset' of the HW2 and seem to have got it working'ish....
So -
Car BT connects fine and displays in BT settings on the phone as connected
Sony SBH52 headset - connects fine and displays in BT settings on the phone as connected
HW2 - although it connects it does not show in BT settings on the phone as connected - also unable to do anything on the settings for it :|
I'm not convinced that the disconnect & reset is actually performing a factory reset of the watch.
Perhaps this needs posting in the HW2 forum - is there one?
hi guys. came to this site because of the same problem.
Found a fix - reset network settings.
after going into settings menu and resetting network settings,
connect to your bluetooth device again and it should work (at least for me)!
