There is a big audio issue with my RN3. Since I installed CM13 official nightly the loud speaker stopped working while using media playbacks. But only the ringtone is working fine, means the loud speaker only works when getting a call but it does't work during a call. I ignored it for a while thinking the next update might solve the issue. Still the problem persists. So, a while back I started using CM 14.0 and 14.1 by santosh. And new isuue came up, now the in speaker (ear) stopped working but the loud speaker is fine during a call. Also the media is all mute, can't hear anything. And yesterday I installed 7.1 rom by abhishek987 same issue. Could someone please explain what might be the problem and help me solve the issue.
Hmm... Did you make clean installs (wipe everything except microsd?)
You could try flashing back MIUI and see if it fixes it, if not im afraid it might be a hw problem
I have (almost) the sam issue.
What i have done: i did a factory reset through twrp and switched from crdroid 7.0 to santosh cm 14.1. All was fine, but yesterday i recognized my mic is not working (phone call, audio recording, Google search etc...). BUT: loudspeaker is working fine, even audio recording via Video.
What i have done:
-restored backup from crdroid 7.0
-restored backup from aicp 12
But my mic is still not working
I also did a full wipe (including /system) and installed aicp 12.1. it does not work
What can i do?

Update: even with my Bluetooth headset with INTEGRATED microphone, i cant make a call or recording...
Must be a Software issue, but why i cant revert via backup?! Seems like Firmware / radio issues for me and that my alka / cofface recovery did not backup these partitions?!

Yeah. This happens from time to time in this phone. Try to clean your mini jack and it should work all fine.

I cleaned my headphone plug and my incall voice is still not working.
If i play music, my loudspeaker is on. Wouldnt, if my redmi would think a headphone is plugged in.

Hi guys, i have a problem with my Redmi note 3 pro Special Edition Kate. When i insert the jack in the hole of my phone, many times the phone reveals the headphone only for few seconds, next the icon in the status bar disappear and the audio comes out the speaker. I have this problem only with headphones without microphone. The problem does not occur if i use headphones with microphone incorporate.
I want change the earpiece jack , but i can't find the replacement for Kate version, does anyone know if it is compatible the earpiece of Kenzo? Thanks.
Hey, my kate‘s got the same problem. I don't think it's a hardware issue. Check out the app SoundAbout. You can force the phone to put out the sound over the 3,5 Jack by setting Media audio to wired headphone. Hope that saves you eine trouble.

Wow you're right, thanks! I just tried your suggestion. So it is a software bug?

If ur on miui it happens with "without mic earphones" if ur in custom rom normal earphone detects, but with mic one doesn't detect but works... its a software issue....
Hi,
I updated to pie on monday.
but when I am using loudspeaker the mic is terribly weak.
it also seems weak when using recorder.
I use line to video call my gf and she can never hear me unless my face is on the mic
it was never like this
if I use headphones it is fine.
anyone have this
I restarted reinstalled line etc.
i also noticed there are 2 Bixby service apps is that normal.
I think the update left old version running because they use different icons i think old and new.
i was thinking both apps could be jumping on the mic or something
I have this problem too when i talk in speaker when in call, the other party can't hear me very well
People not hearing me loud when using loudspeaker in Oreo I solved it by disabling dolby atmos on those calls.
Now on pie I don't have that issue anymore.
I would flash again pie and do a hard reset to ensure it's fully clean

What does Dolby atoms has to do with the mic? Weird
Don't know, but maybe the loud volume it produce makes the mic harder to capture my voice...
Thing is that when speaking with loudspeaker with dolby off was my solution to speak normal and everybody heard me fine.
Now on Pie I don't have to worry anymore if dolby is on or off [emoji2369]

its the mic not noise cancelling right i think if you cover the bottom speaker right next o the mi they can hear better
then take finger off and it goes bad
anyway reset same issue
tried dolby on off no fix

Then it should be Hardware problem, try hitting back of speak, something it works, if not you need to replace the speaker.
I think it's a software issue because games won't start they crash after the splash screen and the mic crashes Google Assistant and sound recorder

Try flashing other custom ROM. Maybe it will solve your problem.
No you Don't get it it's on EVERY custom rom above 6.0.1 also I tried what you said it didn't work
(Crdroid 5.1 was the one that caused the prob btw)
Had this issue on my e 2015,I downloaded one of those speaker tester apps, and once I got to a high enough MHz sound, the speaker started working
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.blackflame.internalspeakertester
Recently, I noticed that the bottom speakers have been going low. Where previously I could watch a YouTube video with just 80% volume clearly but now with even 100% I don't get a better output. It's good and no muffling but the volume is low. Even with notifications alarms ringtones. Has anyone faced similar issues. Bdw i am on miui global 11.0.5 and my phone's a year and 4months old.
Anyone??

Try Twisted and other kernels because Twisted kernel updated audio and other drivers
