I am newbie and am learning the tricks. I have an Alcatel Fierce 2 (7040n) as my "lab" phone. I find its a decent phone with bad ROM. Anyway, I ~soft~bricked the phone and cant find any updates with the proper "signature" or "footer" to do a Update from the phones Recover bootloader. I want if there is a way to hack in using the adb sideload command?

Hey all,
So I successfully rooted my phone, and then I was going to go into recovery reboot mode to install a downloaded rom. I'm not sure what did it, but on that restart I got LG Security error. I first attempted on three different computers to do LG Mobile Support Tool. It stopped everytime when it was going to begin downloading the files. I'm pretty sure if I still had the Security Error image, I would be fine, because I now know of ways to bypass the LG Support Tool, and edit the host file, and then get it downloading.
Either way, in my research after no success with LG Mobile Support Tool, I came across Fastboot. So I got fastboot, I got the drivers installed, but I'm pretty sure my problem was, on the command prompt screen when Fastboot asks' you questions I said yes on them. I believe this is what caused my phone to have the black screen. It will not go into S/W upgrade mode now. It will not do anything, just black screen. I found a tutorial over on Android Forums, and with using Fastboot, I was able to sucessfully flash "p4_769.img" According to that tutorial, after doing that I should have a dead android guy logo, and then just be able to hard reset... but that didn't change anything. Still have the black screen. Still won't go into S/W Upgrade mode.
Now according to what I've read, the next step would be to flash KDZ Afresh...I've looked for this, whatever it is, specific to my model phone, but I can't find anything. If anyone else has any ideas, I would love to hear. I'm so frustrated at this point. Very much appreciate any help. Thank you.
It sounds like now what I have to do is, using how I flashed that recovery img, I first should flash the x and uboot.bin files to my phone. Then I will be able to get into S/W mode, and then restore from there. I just have to find these bin files. I don't have a friend or anyone nearby with the same phone as mine that can:
adb shell su -c busybox dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0p2 of=/sdcard/external_sd/p2.bin
with theres.
Hi dlipford370, you could try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=51206080
Cheers. Good luck.

Hey guys!
Just got my new phone. A Alcatel One Touch T'pop 4010X. Great phone, not much space though. Lots of Alcatel bloatware on it. There is a custom ROM and a way to root it, but I cant seem to get ADB to work. It is enabled in the phone, but when plugged in, it doesn't detect anything. Also, when I run
Code:
adb devices
I get
Code:
List of devices attached
???????????? no permissions
Can anyone help me? I really need to root it!
Thanks,
Will.

I just purchased the Alcatel OneTouch Pop 7 LTE (9015W) from T-Mobile and I was wondering if there is a method for obtaining the boot.img and the recovery.img so that a custom recovery and root can be created. I looked at this guide (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1801690) and it mentioned that I needed root in order to get those two. Is there a temporary root method I could use so I can obtain those img files? It is running Android 6.0.1 if that is an issue or not. The stock recovery information is listed as:
Code:
TCL/9015W/Pixi4-7_4G_TMO
6.0.1/MMB29M/vBC3-0
user/release-keys
in the same boat
Like the original poster i have the same device and tried every (literally) way to try and root this device with no success at all.
If anyone has the key I would be in your debt.
I did come across recovery and stock rom and worried because they are one year old. BUT, I am ready to try anything.
Same here. I'm trying to use this tablet for my cars dash, i figured it'd be sick for all my car functions to be in a tablet with LTE. But most of the cool functions need the device to be rooted. Desperately trying to figure this out.
Same
I have the same one, been trying to find a rom whether its rooted or not, or custom, its stuck in a boot loop, i can get it power off and get into recovery, but factory reset is a no go. If i had an image i can flash it and pray i can salvage it.
Yes it'll be nice to be able to make this tablet useful, use internal micro SD as ram, remove google bloat ware and sightly over clock.
Got this device for free but if I can't root it then it might become a Christmas gift. LOL

Hi.. In the same boat as you.. There is a temporary root method for 6.0.1. Install the latest kingroot on your pc and on the 7 lte. First try to root it from your pc( it will not be able to root it) then use the kingroot on your tab. Voila you have your temporary root. You might have to try it more than once. I personally use it for adaway for changing the hosts file and the root goes away if I restart the tab.
Best of luck man hope you can get us that permanent root and custom recovery!
Possible temporary rooting method found!

I may have found a simple way to achieve at least temporary root. By accident really lol...
I was playing around with hidden menus and found an app available on the Play store called "Hidden Menus"
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.freespirit.hms&hl=en
For tablet users, this is a perfect way to access some of androids secret menus typically only accessible through a dialer. As tablets generally have the dialer excluded from their systems, this is an awesome workaround.
On the Pop 7 Tablet (9015W/9015B) there will be a selection near the top of the list labeled "com.jrdcom.user2root"
and its selection will show .User2RootReceiver. Click this and then press yes when asked if you are sure if you want to run it.
running this option will bring you to another screen that will have "com.jrdcom.user2root.JrdUser2Root" at the top and then underneath will have two buttons labeled "Root" and "User". These two buttons will change your default user for ADB.
If you press "Root" you will see a message flash at the bottom of the screen that says "Update to Root Success"
Thats it!
Plug your Alcatel Pop 7 Tablet (9015W/9015B) into your computer with your usb cable (Make sure to enable USB Debugging mode first! If you don't know how, just search Enable USB Debugging on xda. Enabling this feature is beyond the scope of my post for today.
Open command prompt and type "adb shell" (Without quotes of course)
you should see the prompt change to something like the following for example:
Code:
[email protected]_4G_Telus:/ #
All Done!
Just be aware that rebooting the device seems to force it to default back to user mode. If you see this:
Code:
[email protected]_4G_Telus:/ $
then you are in user mode.
Hope this helps!
The user2root tool doesn't seem available on my T-Mobile branded version of this device.
Amazing!!! Worked for me too
Alcatel Pop7 LTE 9015B from Virgin canada (Bell)
Not a permanent root, but at least I was able to get rid of facebook bloat (com.facebook.appmanager, com.facebook.system)
These packages were impossible to deactivate and were using background data
Hey guys,
So my LG G3 finally took a dump on me and I decided I'm done spending 600+ dollars USD on cell phones , so I picked up this Alcatel One-Touch Allura for around 120$.
There doesn't seem to really be any information about the device online, or even any reviews. I've been trying to root it on my own but am having no luck.
None of the "one-click-roots" work that I tried (surprise surprise). ADB doesn't run as root. For some reason ADB only works while the phone is on, and not in recovery, for the most part... I've installed the USB drivers that you can find on the phone under the CD USB option, I've tried universal Android USB drivers, I've tried updating my Intel USB drivers, but still nothing. ADB will not work while in recovery. The phone goes --start adb-- and then nothing, it just sits there. I AM able to use ADB when I hit "apply update from ADB" so I can kind of get ADB to work in recovery, just not where it says --start adb--, that still doesn't work even after I come out of the adb update menu. I tried to load a few things through sideloading but they all fail because of failing signature verifications.
Anyway, I can get it into recovery but I can't get into the bootloader, and the "allow oem unlock" option doesn't seem to really do much from what I can tell, since I can't even get into fastboot. This seems like a pretty solid device and I like the specs/aesthetics, but I would really love it rooted. I've never really done much with android before so please excuse any terms I may have used incorrectly.
Of course I will be more than happy to try any suggestions/answer any questions I can about the device. I would post a pic of the recovery screen but I need to boost my post count first..
Turns out kingo root works.

Have you been able to find a working recovery for this phone? I picked up one tonight for $89 after shattering the screen on my Nexus. I'd appreciate your input.
Yes Kingo Root works, and I used supersume to use supersu instead of kingos superuser. Now does anyone know if there is a custom recovery or custom rom for Marshmallow?
Well out of all the years I have bought, rooted and modded android devices I have never asked a help question here on xda. I tried everything first and usually that led me to where I wanted to be. Well Alcatel has made it nearly impossible for me to get much further without seeking out those who may know more. So here's the dilemma. I own the Alcatel A621BL also known as the One Touch Pixi Glory. I can not gain access to fastboot using adb nor button combos on this device. Button Combos that are common just cause device to reboot. ADB commands for rebooting to bootloader cause nothing more than a device reboot. Using fastboot and its commands just give a waiting for devices message and that's it. I have correct drivers installed on PC. adb detects device fine but cant reboot to fastboot. Cant figure out a workable root method on the device without access to bootloader. Because this device checks for changes upon reboot and just deletes them after using apps like kingroot, etc. Can not edit the boot image and flash it or anything else without access to fastboot. In developer options there is the option to oem inlock but ticking it on or rather allowing unlock seems to make no difference. I did speak with others who suggest the MSM8909 chipset may be the reason for lack of fastboot access. Seems Alcatel is going in a direction which will cause them to lose some sales due to this policy. Anyone got any suggestions, ideas or anything else on this issue?
I've got the 5041 Tetra which run on a mediatek chipset and have used fastboot on several msm8909 devices. My Tetra's fastboot was locked down via ota update. I believe it is the phone service providers locking us out.
Not sure if you ever found what you were looking for on this device, but if you are still with it, the AIO thread is the place to start.
