Hi.
I'm fighting for some time with the Sony E2303 (Xperia M4 Aqua) where the manufacturer has applied (horror of horrors!) only 8GB of memory...
Unfortunately for the user is available less than 2GB which is absurd nowadays!
I tried to use Adaptive storage on my micro sd card but 1) apps run very slowly (facebook) and 2) few apps can be moved like this.
To get each MB of memory I reflect on the performance of the root to remove the software preinstalled by Sony. It is not even branded to the operator because the soft installed is Central Europe.
It's about removing applications that do not use, and which occupy a lot of space (the effect of AR, spotify, playstation, etc). Root would allow me I think to uninstall such software.
However, after uninstalling the applications I would go back to the situation before the root account by doing unroot.
I think the root of this model is mainly based on the change the recovery. Is it possible to return to the stock recovery without full flashing?
Thanks in advance,
BR, Michael.
No, I am afraid that's not possible. There's no way to do it without having to flash the firmware. However, try using the Xperia Companoin or move to sd card feature to make a backup.

You can unroot by flashing stock boot.img, but TWRP will stay there. So you would only lose SuperSU.
And if u use Sony Companion, make sure to relock bootloader before repairing software or you may brick your device.
Hello.
Can anybody will help me to unlock the bootloader?
I have the possibility to do this:

but when I try to do this by fastboot then the command is not executed:
I tried on three different machines with Windows 10/Windows 7 and MacOS without success. Always is the same.
I'll be very graceful for help.

Hi.
Thanks for interest.
This option is ON as debugging USB.
I tried with the manual from Sony but still I can't execute this command
Case solved.
I reflash the phone using flashtool and Central Europe 1 firmware.
After that I could execute the command oem unlock but only without "-i 0x0fce".
All done.
Thanks.

Hello there,
I'm trying to remove ROOT.
My device is BootLoader UnLocked.
My device is rooted.
My device is running the 14.4.A.0.108 FirmWare.
Searching for help doesn't help me at all http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/help/flashtool-error-parsing-settingsprefs-js-t2805196
My issue is this one:
When I am opening FlashTool64.exe, I get this error:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

My computer is running Windows 8.1 Pro (updated) on an MSI Z77A-GD65 with a 840 EVO SSD (everything is up-to-date).
I used the disable driver signature enforcement.
I installed a lot of drivers for the Z Ultra in the Flashtool-drivers.exe.
And... I get this error...
What can I do to remove this red text ?
Or... Can I unroot with this error ?
(Because I give up by installing a custom rom, I'm reading, searching everything on the internet, and nobody offers me a link where everything is well explained, I remember how that was easy with the first galaxy note, now it's very uncomprehensible)...
I have the same issues
nevermind...
I'm gonna remove the unlocking, I have restored the DRM KEYS & I will try to update my device with Sony Companion and unroot

If it say "allowed" that should be correct.
Yes, if it says "Allowed" then it's locked, but you're allowed to unlock it (again). If it says "Unlocked: Yes", then it's unlocked.
What exactly are you trying to achieve here? No recovery/No root/Locked BL? For what purpose?

Basically, I'm trying to launch a fully operational software without error, I might forgot a step during the installation protocol, and, I have an error...

I guess that is just an error in firefox's prefs file (flashtool looking for web proxy) so is nothing to worry about - just a guess though

so this error is just for a proxy issue ? :highfive:
blueether is right. Just install Firefox and open it, which creates the missing file. The error is gone. :good:

back up your TA partition
then unlock your bootloader
start using custom roms like CM, AOKP, Paranoid etc...
I did the unlock the bootloader and installed the ROM Aur ver 3.7...
I heard it can make the superior auto mode runs on 20mpix.... how to do it... thanks

You can accomplish this under any ROM as long as you have the Xposed framework installed. Search for the module "20MP SuperiorAuto", install and enable it and then reboot.

I just posted in this thread. the 20mp auto (enabled through the xposed mod) is not better quality than the 20mp manual.

If you want the 20mp, set it to manual, centre weighted exposure. Auto white balance is pretty good for most situations.
If you just rooted the phone and haven't jumped to a non-stock ROM, then there's a small laundry list I did:
-Install F-Droid and Adaway
-Install Xposed framework
-Install Greenify
-Install Titanium Backup
-Use Titanium Backup to backup and uninstall bloat system apps (like "What's New")
Root opens up a lot more freedom for the phone. Xposed in particular is fantastic for changing just about anything.
Newbies should know, you don't need to unlock your bootloader to have fun. Root and try the xposed mods.
Sent from my D6503 using XDA Free mobile app
Yep it's unlocking the bootloader that voids your warranty, and unless you wish to install a custom kernel based rom is unnecessary.
One of the reasons I used to root ( not anymore, I'm kinda bored) was to install Dsploit and wifikill to have some fun with unsecured WiFi networks.
Add adblock, titanium backup. Bloat freeze (Sony phones have the least).
Have some themes.

I hope you did a TA backup before you unlocked your bootloader otherwise you have lost your DRM keys which is not reversible.
Beyond that I hope you enjoy your new Z2!

Everything works fine, Camera., Apps, Android os is 5.0.2 kernel 3.10.49, everything is smooth, but there is anoying message "You have crash artifacts to upload" all the time!? I believe that sticker talks for itself and my advice would be not to be so open about this transaction.
In any case unless you have an EMMA account with relevant privileges you can't do much.
If you are lucky enough and Sony enables OTA updates for customer acceptance firmware applicable to the variant you have then at least you might get a firmware update in the future. But if you have as you say the crash handling app installed then probably you have an quite old FW which might not get any OTA.
Is there any way to instal new firmware without OTA? I think for z4 actual android official version is 5.11? If i kill process com.sonymobile.crashmonitor.system and com.sonymobile.crashmonitor.ui anoying message "You have crash artifacts to upload" is gone. Z4 is alredy long time on the market, so stickers now dont have much point anymore?

The last part is something you need to discuss with Sony but I don't believe a prototype unit on the loose is something they don't take seriously.
If I were you I'd ask the seller to take it back and refund you because as I wrote the only option for updates you have is either EMMA access with the proper permissions to download customer acceptance firmwares, someone with such access to give you the firmware or sony to enable OTA for customer acceptance firmware. The latter happens some times.
With the current firmware you have you can of course kill as you said some processes to get rid of the crash monitor app and notifications but there are still other debug bits enabled. If the firmware has root access enabled - there are such debug firmwares and you can check that from adb shell with su - you can clean it up a bit more.
That is all I can provide as info.
Solution is very simple. I download latest firmware 28.0.A.8.260 with XperiFirm and flash with flashtool and everything works perfect! No anoying messages anymore, nothing..

Prototypes have a different bootloader so you can't flash retail firmware on it and vice versa.
Up to Z3 tablet this was valid also for tablets, if they changed that in Z4 then you are lucky.
My Phone Storage is supposed to be 16 GB & it is supposed to be free because I just got it a few days ago yet it's full & you can't even know where the data is distributed
there is more than 8 GB that's missing in air
I tried most of the known apps to clean or to remove cache & nothing happened
there is an app that I installed once & didn't start up saying that the phone is rooted
so I downloaded root checker & it said that it'sn't rooted properly
then I used Storage Space app & it said that the phone is only 8 GB
& all the apps say that the phone is only 1 GB Ram
What do I do is the phone rooted or not or is it rooted non properly or is it damaged in storage or what
It's Huawei G9 LTE it's read in many apps U2 or Honor something
here is pics of every information about it

It looks like you got a fake clone phone, not an authentic Huawei G9 LTE. Your firmware / build number is not authentic Huawei firmware.

now the phone is dead and gives me errors when I try to flash it or format it
what can I do
can I do anything custom that can make that phone work again
I have android studio and lots of apps used to develop android programs can I use any to make it alive again

Flashing a ROM when your phone is rooted is generally a bad idea.
Wish I could help you but clone phones are a huge pain in the butt to work with. I've seen them with corrupted recovery etc, no way to format the phone, limited fastboot commands, etc....
You probably won't get a lot of help on XDA for a clone phone but you can try the "Chinese Models & Cloned Phones" forum over at GSMHosting, it seems active with lots of topics / information
Its a forum specifically for clone phone software etc.

Hi,
I have a big problem.
My brother tried to root my Xtrons Px6 rk3399 gs. with Su user. He updated superuser. Now the radio is in the boot loop and it won't start. He then tried a new firmware to bottles which does not work either, the radio only shows the logo. I get into recovery. I just do not know how to go on:-(
it's the Xtrons PQ80UNV
Sorry for my english.

TF? Why would you want to root that?
Did you try factory resetting?
He said it would be better. then you have more options. Because of some sound patch, I don't know much about it. Factory reset? I pressed Restet button but no change. It doesn't just start the boot logo from Vw.
I don't even get to the Adroid. Only in recovery.
Did a wipe, but it still doesn't start.
You chose wipe cache partition. I meant "Wipe data/factory reset"
Try choosing it.
If your brother is the one who did this as you say, if it's me I'd force him to fix it or at least pay for it.
I tried that too. I also tried the original firmware here, but always the same.

Yes, that's right, he's currently doing assembly work. I'm really desperate :-(
What I noticed is that with every firmware I install it is always the same recovery version.

Do you have unlocked bootloader? You may need to flash the stock ROM if you can find it.

the UNIT you have, looks almost the same as ICE/HU/PBX89UNV ( except mine has android 9 ) XTRONS ? 64GB -4GB ?
correction- there are multiple versions of this exact same unit. (even one with a qualcomn)
yours has the HDMI out pigtail ?
firmware link -
word instruction -
codes to ENABLE DEVELOPER OPTIONS
To start debugging, enter adbon in the factory settings input password box
if you want to change the factory settings, boot image, etc,, enter 126 in the factory settings input password box.
may i ask fellow members , to root this ,
unlock boot-loader,
flash updated BOOT.img (magisk patched)
-- because this is android 9, do i need a BLANK VBMETA flash?
funny fact--- this unit, will BOOTLOOP if you put a 512GB micro SD card in the slot, it boot loop cycles..
(anything above 128GB causes issues )
the micro SD slot for MAP/GPS , --- can we use this for anything else ?
and does anyone know of there are any custom roms and or TWRP already built for this > (this should share similar/same across a few brands ?)
