back up your TA partition
then unlock your bootloader
start using custom roms like CM, AOKP, Paranoid etc...
I did the unlock the bootloader and installed the ROM Aur ver 3.7...
I heard it can make the superior auto mode runs on 20mpix.... how to do it... thanks

You can accomplish this under any ROM as long as you have the Xposed framework installed. Search for the module "20MP SuperiorAuto", install and enable it and then reboot.

I just posted in this thread. the 20mp auto (enabled through the xposed mod) is not better quality than the 20mp manual.

If you want the 20mp, set it to manual, centre weighted exposure. Auto white balance is pretty good for most situations.
If you just rooted the phone and haven't jumped to a non-stock ROM, then there's a small laundry list I did:
-Install F-Droid and Adaway
-Install Xposed framework
-Install Greenify
-Install Titanium Backup
-Use Titanium Backup to backup and uninstall bloat system apps (like "What's New")
Root opens up a lot more freedom for the phone. Xposed in particular is fantastic for changing just about anything.
Newbies should know, you don't need to unlock your bootloader to have fun. Root and try the xposed mods.
Sent from my D6503 using XDA Free mobile app
Yep it's unlocking the bootloader that voids your warranty, and unless you wish to install a custom kernel based rom is unnecessary.
One of the reasons I used to root ( not anymore, I'm kinda bored) was to install Dsploit and wifikill to have some fun with unsecured WiFi networks.
Add adblock, titanium backup. Bloat freeze (Sony phones have the least).
Have some themes.

I hope you did a TA backup before you unlocked your bootloader otherwise you have lost your DRM keys which is not reversible.
Beyond that I hope you enjoy your new Z2!

Hi,
Total noob here. Just came from Blackberry 2 days ago and my head is about to explode with all i have learned about rooting, bootloaders etc.
I Got a Galaxy S4-VRUAME7. Rooted it last night.
I am trying to find an app that will allow me to control permissions given to installed apps.
I have tried a few out with not so great results.
LBE reboots my phone (known problem with Jelly-bean)
and a few others i tried that froze (cant remember which)
Is the best option to use a translated chinese version of LBE? like this?
And if so then do i need to install from my desktop following instructions such as these
or is this a better route:
PDroid Privacy Protection which needs a patch. What would I need to know about using this one with my rooted droid?
or....?
Thanks for any suggestions/guidance.
Xposed framework with xprivacy is what u need.. No hassle of patching framework like pdroid but got the same function, probably even more powerful.

thanks! But now my head is really spinning.
Is this my required reading for the night:?
430 pages here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1574401
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2320783
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=biz.bokhorst.xprivacy.pro

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=43892381&postcount=1703&nocache=1&z=9436779862769084
I would pay a good amount if i was able to just install one app. but i guess that would mean i would have to find something else to do tonight.
Just read xprivacy thread. Reading first page is enough I think. Usually first page of any thread is full of info on howto do things right. Basically what u need to do is root your phone, install xposed installer then install xprivacy.
Ok, I installed the Xprivacy Installer and now I am at this point:

}
When I click the "Download/install Xposed" link I am taken to this post.
From here do I just click on the "....latest.apk" link and it installs?
Do I need to install any other patches? What are the chances of getting into a "boot loop" as i did with LBE ?
I would like to help out however possible so I would buy whatever I can to support this developer. In this case would i install the "XPrivacy Pro enabler" and then also get Xprivacy Pro ? or are they the same thing.
Try asking in xprivacy thread. I haven't got enough experience using xprivacy to guide u through it but asking actual people who actually using it on its dedicated thread would be better.

will do. thanks for the help.
I got XPrivacy Pro Installed and working ! Now i can install worthless aps like facebook on my phone and limit the permissions.
I thought when I left Blackberry 3 days ago that i was done monkeying around to get stuff onto my phone! I was wrong.
If I had posting rights (i think i need to do 10 posts before I can hyperlink) I would write up a description of all it took to do the install. Definitely not easy for a noob to do. The installation consisted of multiple parts/components and instructions were not clear to a noob like me and they were not all on one page.
But it was all a good learning experience which will help with my next hackadroid venture.
thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.
Glad to hear that u nailed it at last. Enjoy your secured droid. Probably more secured than berries now

Of course you can, root access just allow you to install mod or edit system files. There are no conflict between unlocked bootloader and root access

You need the unlock code from Sony.
http://developer.sonymobile.com/unlockbootloader/
Use the blu (bootloader unlock) function from flashtool.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=920746
Edit....it wipes everything so back up what you want to save, and a nandroid made before unlocking will relock. Use an app like titanium backup or mybackup pro.

Hi, thank you. I did it about 5 hours ago [emoji5]

Hi everyone
I managed to root my android phone yesterday (I checked with 2 root-checker apps). Now I'm having trouble removing pre-installed apps like Twitter and Yellow Pages which I never use. I tried few uninstall apps, and after granting them permission from SuperUS, they perform an uninstall (some apps do it forcefully) and give a message that the apps were deleted. The apps are not removed from my application list but when I click on it to run, they give an error message. But when I restart my phone, those apps I deleted start working again as if nothing happened.
What I'm I doing wrong? My phone is HTC One M8, android.
Thank you for any help

Yes, I did that before I rooted it.
I also tried using a File Explorer (rooted version) to uninstall those system app but couldn't find System files. I found a file called Root, but nothing is in the file.

I just tried it now but same problem. I select twitter to delete. It gives me a message that uninstall was successful. I check to see if it's listed on my home page, and it is although when I click on it, it gives an error message. However after restarting the phone, twitter somehow recovers and works again!!! Really strange. It's as if it wasn't uninstalled to begin with.
Does anyone know? I still can't solve it

You need to remove read / write protection. You can do this most easily by flashing a modded kernel (boot.img) through fastboot. Alternatively, there's custom roms that have this already or you can mod a kernel module. There's a guide in the General section of your phone's forum. If you go that route, make sure that the module is compatible with the update you're on as the guide might be outdated.

For Gapps, if I remember correctly you need to flash them (Android 5.1.1)

Can anyone help me PLEASE
I've looked and searched everywhere on how to either factory reset my Smartisan U3 or bypass lockscreen pattern. In Smartisan recovery mode ,by holding power+vol up at start up, their is no factory reset/erase data option! And adb can't get it to work on windows... { Just to give you piece of mind; it's not blacklisted etc so it's not stolen. Won it w/ 4 other phones as a lot, from a online police/govt auction site so it hasn't even been used in over a yr atleast }
.....anyone have a solution please please please help? I greatly appreciate any help at all. Someone must know how.
In Smartisan recovery mode(Pwr+Vol up) it lists:
Reboot system now
Reboot to bootloader( Selecting this just resets the phone to lockscreen)
Apply update from adb
Apply update from SD card( I tried loading files to add card and than putting back in the U3 but I can't find the file. When you select this option it opens up a long list of files. Even if no SD card is inserted)
Wipe cache partition
View recovery logs
Poweroff
I don't know if anything is changed in quality but you can now change the video quality to 4k directly in the video settings (you don't have to go to the 4k mode)
IF IT DOESN'T INSTALL, THEN USE APK EDITOR TO EDIT THE APK INSIDE 'COMMON' MODE AND MAKE SURE IT'S SELECTED AS INTERNAL. IF IT STILL DOESN'T WORK YOU NEED TO DISABLE YOUR PHONE'S SIGNATURE VERIFICATION (google it, I'm not allowed to post the method on xda)
Please leave a thank if it works for you

Never. Looks like Sony uses some sort of e-fuse (comparable to Knox on Samsung phones) on their XA2 series. Once unlocked, it cannot be closed. You can only hide root with several magisk tricks.
Of course ! The users of sony it is himself who speaks.
Why allow unlocking the bootloader, and not allow relocking. So they urge customers to lose the security and warranty of their devices.
I use ROM Sony
-AOSP 8.1 (H4113) (unofficial), I tried according to your instructions and is not an app install.
Maybe another solution? thank you
4.02.2019.
-tried with 50.1.A.13.83, can not be installed.
