N4F26T = non-Verizon and NUF26N = Verizon Only? I assume that's the case. C'mon Google, label those!
****EDIT****
It is labeled as above on the factory image page, but not the OTA page.

I just got my OTA update.

Yeah you've right
T= non Verizon
N=Verizon only

Wow! Got the notification about installing the march update now, on the same day as the news about is out. That's a first. Usually I have to wait for weeks for it.
Maybe it's something really important with it for Google to push it faster?

Out of curiosity, I bought my 6P thru the play store but use it on Verizon. I assume I need to use VZW only build, but wasn't sure if it was intended for the phone if you bought from VZW.

Correct. You would choose NUF26N for use on the Verizon network.

Has anyone figured out why they need 2 separate builds yet? considering both work on all devices.

I've always been interested in this same question. The only thing I've ever really heard has been related to the fact that the Google dialer has visual vmail embedded in it, and if you're on Verizon u need to flash the Verizon image in order for visual vmail and other call-related features to work properly.

Yeah voicemail doesn't work on non verizon variant

[Q] S4 woes

OK. I am going to provide as much detail as I can for now. Please let me know what additional information will help you help me. Thanks
I have a S4 for Verizon. I have been trying to root it so I can load the Google edition image on it. However, none of the tutorials I have seen seem to work on my device. I bought it brand new direct from Samsung off contract (didn't want to loose my unlimited data) so I don't think I can get a warranty replacement through Verizon (haven't rooted it yet). The furthest I seem to get is that SuperSU gets installed but will not download the binaries. So I cannot continue with the rest if the steps with rooting and re-imaging. Also, most steps have you install a specific kernal version as the first step but not sure if that is happening because my screen don't look the same as the ones in the tutorials.
Phone: SCH-1545
OS ver: 4.3
Kernal: 3.4.0
Build: JSS15J.1545VRUEMJ7
HW ver: 1545.06
Thanks.

Just so you know, the only thing available for MJ7 build is root. Installing a custom recovery or custom ROMs is not possible at this time.

No. Once the phone is updated, there is no way to go back.
As I stated above, all we can do is root. With root we can debloat and use Xposed framework to make some changes.

It's Verizon, they lock down every phone they sell. You have to do research before you buy your phone if you want custom software on Verizon, or switch carriers.

I know Verzon sucks in that regard but the service is awesome. I get full 4G coverage just about everywhere and I've got unlimited data still. Plus, I didn't buy it from them, I payed full price from an online vendor so that I wouldn't have to change my contract.
Oh well, guess I'll just have to keep an eye out for when someone finally cracks it.
I hate waiting....

Android N Developer preview is apparently out.

This is the info right here. Enjoy! http://i.imgur.com/rYMJzB7.png?_utm_source=1-2-2
O boy O boy O boy!!!
It looks like ars pulled that story. You can only see it on Google Cache. Here's the link to the preview but as of right now, I don't see anything there
http://developer.android.com/preview
http://developer.android.com/preview/download.html
Images are now up for download!
"Get over-the-air updates
You can receive over-the-air updates to preview versions of Android by enrolling your compatible device in the Android Beta Program. These updates are automatically downloaded and will update your device just like official system updates.
For more information and to enroll your device, see the Android Beta Program web site. http://www.google.com/android/beta
Warning: If you enroll a device in the Android Beta Program, then later opt-out of receiving updates on the device, all user data on that device will be removed."
OTA link to signup for the beta program is dead for now. Hoping it lights up soon
I'm guessing we flash this via fastboot am I correct?

How do you know new nexus will come in 7-8 months? Thats what everyone thought new android will come and we got surprise by google that it will be relased in summer not in autumn along with android n preview getting released today.
But my point was that theres no point in buying nexus 6p then switching to new nexus with timeline of not even a year which is waste of money.

Yes, usually a new version is out with a new nexus, the same day.
The new LG isn't out yet, it will be the first to ship with native nougat on board.
So if it's really going to hit our phones today, is the first time the new OS comes out before the phone
Yes. So then where is the nexus?
Maybe Google learned after the past two years where everything is spoiled weeks prior to the official announcement of the device. Would make sense if we just got the device out thin air.

The only reason I think it's coming sooner is because of the OS release.
Nexus 6 released with 5.0
Nexus 6p released with 6.0
So then why break the tradition? I think I'm right on that by the way.

Wonder why there was no such VZW exclusion announced with Android 6.X or 7.0? I was ping ponging back and forth between VZW and AT&T with Note 7 and 6P in Sept and 6P was fine with both on 7.0. On a completely different topic, is Android pay working for everyone on 7.1.1 ? It isn't for me :crying:

Verizon is always late to ota pretty much. They are picky with the bootloader on their Android devices. Due to mobile Hotspot reasons.

All of the factory images before this one have been for all carriers. I dont think Ive ever seen them release an "everything but Verizon" image, until now.
