Hey all,
I've been trying to connect (unsuccessfully) my Android 5.1 radio to a 4g LTE modem using PPP Widget. I've purchased two separate modems in hopes that one would be compatible with PPP Widget.
I'm finally throwing in the towel and wanting to purchase something that is natively supported. My carrier is Verizon (US).
Any recommendations? I'm not too worried on the price, but I'd like to keep is reasonable if possible.
no one?

I can't seem to find this in the forums at all. I recently bought the T-Mobile HTC One (Model PN07130) and changed it to a Google Play edition (S-Off, SuperCID, flashed 4.2.2 RUU.zip and OTA updated to 4.3)
My questions are that:
Is the 1700mhz band still enabled on my phone?
Will flashing the latest T-Mobile Radio enable it?
Is it HBOOT/ROM dependent?
Is there anyway to check the Bands used/enabled?
Will changing the radio block OTA updates? (I'm pretty sure this is a yes)
Best APN settings?
I would like people who have done this to respond, or those that have an idea of how this all works. I'm giving this phone as a gift and would like the recipient to have great coverage with uninterrupted updates.
Thanks
Hello all!
I am going to be traveling internationally for an extended period and am looking to get a new phone. I currently use a Samsung Galaxy S3 on the AT&T LTE network.
I am looking for some advice on what to get, here is some of the things I would like:
Dual SIM support
Work on the USA AT&T network as well as being a global GSM phone
Android custom ROM compatible
Normal bells/whistles: GPS, Wireless, Bluetooth, Camera
Thanks for any insite that you might be able to provide. I have looked through the various China wholesale type sites and there are just SO many phones to choose from its a bit daunting.

Anyone have any recommendations?
So, I have an NVIDIA Shield, and am very interested in the LTE version of the upcoming NVIDIA Shield Tablet, but I need to know something. I intend on buying the LTE variant for data. I have no reason to have voice, but I want to use data. I am under the impression it is a GSM device, and is for T-Mobile or AT&T, I want to use my Verizon LTE data. The question breaks down to whether I can pop my Verizon SIM in and use it on the LTE-only bands? I know the Nexus 7 had a LTE radio, but I am under the impression it was somewhat carrier specific. Anyways, if somebody has the answer, that'd be great.
Thanks in advance.
My father is likely to give me his Verizon Note 4, I know I can simply pop in my Tmobile SIM and voice works and then add in the Tmobile APN for LTE access...
But I was wondering what would be the limitations and ramifications of flashing the stock Verizon 4.4.4 Android with the Tmobile version... Is it possible and what issues could I expect when this happens?
The main reason I ask is Tmobile android phones have the Wifi Calling feature and with Verizon software I do not have this feature... interested if swapping carrier versions of Android is possible and if it would give me access to the Wifi Calling feature as if the phone was Tmobile stock.
I purchased a Tab S3 thinking it would be a WiFi model. Turns out it is a SM-T827 (US Cellular) version. I never plan on using a mobile plan with it. Are there any problems if I use ROMs for the 820 or 825 models?
It will not work, they use different roms as they have different internals and also has an imei being a celluar version.
That is too bad. I hate Samsung's UI and slow version of Android.
This isn't an answer to your question, but...
I'm curious how much bloatware they put on the US Cellular variant. I've seen where people flash Verizon firmware successfully onto the US Cellular version, but haven't discussed doing that in the other direction and am tempted to try it.
The Verizon version of Pie has a ton of junk on it.
Thanks
