I have my Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon 3/32 for 6 months. I remember that in the beginning there was an offical global dev rom installed and it was running perfectly with SoT 9-11 hours.
Newest official MIUI gives only 5-7 hours. Same with xiaomi.eu.
Is there any ROM with better SoT? I have tried installing Radon Kernel but it gives me high temperatures on balanced settings and higher battery drain.
Resurrection Remix Rom, 10-11 hrs SOT, Everything stock, I suggest 6-2-2017 and 3-3-2017 build. I am still rocking 6-2 build.
Also camera doesn't work properly. But I use my go pro so if u r not camera dependent, try it. Hell of customizations..
Installing other camera app doesn't make it work?

From my own experience:
Nitrogen is pretty good even with stock kernel, there are some changes like DrunkSauce as governor profile, so you don't have to tinker with it tbh. CitrusCAF is also nice, but stable build is like 2 months old (experimental is from 1st March though, everything works fine on it). You can also try AICP/SlimROM, but i'd say on these ROMs SOT is still comparably high, so it's just all about what else you expect from a rom.
Any Android 7.x-based ROM will not have proper camera control due to Xiaomi not releasing the sources for 7.x, no camera app solves this issue. In my own experience, I found about 50-60% of the time, camera apps crash when opening them, and when they do work, most of the hardware functions, like autofocus, seem to not work.
The solution to this issue is to use a ROM based on Android 6.x, personally I've been using LOS 13 from this thread and everything has been working fine, hardware-wise, on my note 3 (kate), and the other day I played Plants vs Zombies on it for about 7 hours, and still had over 60% battery left, and I've never seen that kind of SoT before. I'm also using the Radon kernel, which probably also helps a lot. Using the balanced profile, and original colours, not sure if using the other profiles or enhanced colours would impact SoT negatively, though.

Im using global dev 7.2.9 and radon kernel v4.0
Sot up to 10h-11h when set to low freq cpu 400-1100Mhz little and 400-1100Mhz Big. So far, peformance down but for using low-mid intensive user very enough. I love radon kernel cause fast charge, with Qualcomm QC3.0 charger certified.

Sorry for that many posts, but
I have been looking around and people say these 3 Roms are the best.
What is the best of them? I am on Bootleggers+AGNi right now and the performance in Pubg is great and I am getting around 6 hours SOT.
What is the most stable of them with best SOT and performance? (With AGNi or any other kernels?)

Development of Elexir OS has been stopped since they don't have access to their files due to copyright issue. Developer of NOS have sold his kenzo an started using another phone, so don't expect active bug fixes and developments other than security updates. Choose rom with future. cheers

Yup, but stability of oreo isnot good as compared to nougat. As legends are leaving this device and MM bolbs may cause trouble in future, It will hardly see a stable android p build. For now NoS is good. Can you tell me why are you using agni instead of stock ?

well...depends on your use. I will recommend it, the only thing I don't like is the battery in every other aspect works good. I don't root it yet, I plan to do it, to install apps for improve battery like L-Speed or Helix Engine

depends on your use I mean, do you have an agressive use of social networks, play games, etc...better a Xiaomi, if it's for regular use works good. The fast charger is a pro, with half an hour you have a decent amount of energy to continue until the night

well if it's in that way maybe better a Xiaomi for the well balanced battery. I read that the Redmi Note 4 gets 6 hours of SOT. I know that other models of LeEco have 4.000 mah battery but I don't know how is the optimization
It doesn't has microsd card slot.So 32 gb storage can not be expanded.QSD 820 still rocks in most of the heavy games, despite of being 2 years old and way better than QSD 808 of op2's.Your choice.

yes one of the reasons I want to change is the processor and the screen
if battery is not a problem go for it... i usually get 4-5 of SOT (sometimes less it depends on your usage) and gaming like pubg literally kills the battery 25% per pubg match...
Heyyo, yes I would say it's worth it. I had a Nexus 6P which had the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 which isn't good for battery life and performance isn't too great either in 3D games. The LeEco Le Max 2 with Oreo custom ROMs works great in 3D games. :good:
I would also look for deals on devices with SnapDragon 835 as they have also come down in price (albeit nowhere near as low as the Le Max 2) as you never know, might find one worth the price difference.
So yeah, if you're into 3d games or want a device with a higher density screen? The Le Max 2 is worth the upgrade.
We do lack SDcard and NFC though, so if those are important to you? Unfortunately you'll have to look for a different device...
Also, the camera on the Le Max 2 is really darn good. Only downside is the OIS isn't super effective compared to other OIS devices and we only get 1080P 30fps (and 4K UHD 30fps). I'm guessing it was a budget cut on the Sony Exmor RS IMX230 we got in order to keep the prices low... But damn, this camera with Google Camera Mod? It is impressive what it can do!

Heyyo, for ROM updates? There is some from LeEco yes... But they're still Marshmallow and they don't really bother updating security level which has been on January 1, 2017 for quite a while...
For custom ROMs? Pretty much any Oreo ROM. They're all really darn good and almost all of them still get constant updates.
I'd recommend searching the ROM development thread and see which one has the most recent comments to your linking. :good:
I myself am the Le Max 2 maintainer for LineageOS 15.1 and tbh I haven't really tried any other Oreo ROMs so I can't comment on how their balance of performance, battery life and features are but yeah there's a lot to choose from and you can't really go wrong.

is there no issue with fast charge
how is the battery consumption
is there a kernel for battery optimization like balanced or power saving mode

HDR works fine with any camera app. For Oreo ROMs though it is recommended to use Tolyan009 builds as they are stable for us.
Quick Charge 3.0 works fine for me yeah. Some users report charging issues if the battery goes above 40°c and that is something I will be looking into.
Battery idle consumption is pretty good... But screen on time isn't due to mainly the QHD screen and not massive battery to compensate. I tend to get about 5 hours SoT and I don't 3D game or such. Mainly web browsing, Telegram, XDA and VNC Remote PC control.
Like others have said, screen on time for the Le Max 2 isn't so good... But it can be improved with some sacrifices to performance. LineageOS tends to lean a slight bit more towards performance than a balance between performance and battery life.
For kernels? There is bs kernel and the GalaticStryder kernel (found in the LineageOS "Pro" thread) which both have threads in the ROM development forum section.
Resurrection Remix Power Saver is the ROM that comes to mind for battery life over performance. Afaik it doesn't have an active thread on XDA so they use a telegram channel for updates, downloads and discussion.

been using the phone for 3 days now
flashed lineage rom and got 3:50 hrs sot with normal usage
also got 156000 points on antutu which still impressive
charging takes 1 hour and 20 minutes to 100% using 5.2v 2A lenovo adapter
so overall yes it worth buying and would have been great if the company released nougat at least
I am a Mate10Pro user and i bought very cheap the LeEcoMax 2 from Ebay. I just want to test it but now it replaced my Mate10Pro completly. The device is now 2 years old but running very fast and i have flashed AEX Official v.5.7 based on 8.1 and it's a real good combination . I also flashed LOS on it and it's also a good rom in combination with the phone. I am using a Gcam mod and the pics are awesome, the portrait mode is working great. I have to admit that the battery life is not that good compared to the M10Pro and also some apps are not opening such fast but these are things i can live with. Cheers

best kernels

Lineage and stock
Stock is of course the most stable, but the beta builds always have bugs they always remove settings add settings fix something break something.

It doesn't have the app cloning and battery life is a lot better if you manage the background apps strictly but you still have to install it and test it yourself.

There is no best rom or best kernel, it all comes down to personal preference...
Lineage Pie with Franco kernel.
..and go with pixel experience only if u r into very stock version which I think is overrated given its customization limitations.
I have always hated chinese ROMs or apps, take MIUI for example they have like hundreds of apps injected into core system (miui security, miui contacts, miui dialer, miui messaging, miui this that and what not...)

Hi fellow Flip! Yeah I went with Ambasidii rom based on stock MIUI since I need the cloned app feature for ROM (Slave priest). It's rooted and has derp kernel. Battery life is quite a lot better. I was redownloading all my apps overnight and it only drained about 7% of battery life which is 1% more than full stock on idle without WiFi.
By the way, do you do a battery recalibration once you switch roms? Standby time is fantastic on mine but it seems to drain a little harder while playing ROM compared to stock.

There's no need to recalibrated when switching roms. Recommended calibrating your battery ( each month or every three months )
android phones this days use lithium-ion (Li-ion) or lithium-polymer (Li-po) batteries for Poco F1 . This batteries don’t need to be fully discharged, and come with smart chips that make calibration unnecessary and that's the good thing for us.
Just want to share this method , i do this all the time after switching custom roms.
First, drain your phone’s battery completely. Don’t charge it at any point while it’s draining. Let the phone keep working till it shuts itself off. Once the phone has shut itself off, restart it so it shuts off again. Even though the battery was at 0 percent, it has a few reserves left. Now, while the phone is off, charge it to 100 percent. It’s safe to use quick chargers for this, but make sure you hit 100 percent. Once it’s fully charged, unplug it and boot your phone. Android might not say it’s at 100 percent, and that’s okay. In that case, plug the charger again and let it get to 100 percent. then unplug it. This cycle of full drain and recharging lets the chip calibrate its readings with the battery’s charge cycle.
hope that helps:good:

Hello,
I'm looking for a rom and a good kernel that is very good on battery life. Also I want to try out the debloated MIUI. Where can I find it?
And is it true that the MIUI rom is the best for battery life?
try Xiaomi Eu rom ,with notification mod and restricted every app that you don't need so much. you might wanna clean rom more ,use lucky patcher and cleaned the rom. i did it my self.. trust me much better..
I am myself testing with Pixel Experience and the LKT magisk module. so far 2h of screen on time with only 20% battery drain, so i'd expect 8 to 10 hours of SoT just like that.
I've also heard malakas kernel has superceded Sphynx/FrancoKernel as the most battery friendly kernel you can install, but i have not tested that.
In the past, xiaomi.eu has given me better battery life than lineage/phh-treble in previous devices ( Mi MAX 3 ) so maybe combining xiaomi.eu + malakas kernel + lkt and maybe disabling half of your cores would give you a lot more SoT. I'll definitely post my findings in a few weeks on the SoT thread after i compare my current setup vs what i've just proposed.

I'll definitely post my findings in a few weeks on the SoT thread after i compare my current setup vs what i've just proposed.

I definitely want to read that post. Maybe I will try that later. Seems like this kernel is the best in terms of battery life now, is it?

I will try that, thanks. Is it better than stock MIUI?

At 299 euros, it's cheaper than getting, let's say, the BQ Aquaris X2 or the Zenfone Max Pro M2 for some unholy reason. and as a glorified Discord machine and music player... 2 high perf cores and 2 low perf cores are more than enough. and i get a battery boost on top of that!

There is this app called Naptime from the author of Franco Kernel that forces doze no matter what as soon as your screen goes off. so that should also help with miui rom sleep delays.
as for running themn on a lower frequency, i've found that chrome loves crash (locking the whole system up with it) if i make them go slow enough, so disabling half the cores at the stock speed seems to be doing the trick for me. Maybe both can be done within reason for some extra gains though
i think you should use revo os or miuipro. And uninstall apps magisk module terminal debloater or es file explorer.I am used pocof1 basic debloat.xml import terminal debloater and after other apps opened system apps and priv apps es file explorer andddddd delete folders

Considering deep sleep, would it be beneficial to go with NOS and Malakas kernel for even better battery? I mean there should be less bloatware and deep sleep could be less of a problem.
I have tried some roms in the past, but wasnt really happy with stock camera in the roms or the full screen birghtness when unlocking.
I wonder if there are already roms with 100% of the quality from stock MIUI camera and normal FOD unlock wthout full 100% brightness.
I saw for example dotOS and it looks good, just not sure if camera and FOD are like in stock MIUI.
Someone has advice?
DotOS is a really good ROM. The camera is perfect and there is no problem with the brightness on the lockscreen. The only problem I encountered is the way that the rom don't want to update itself.
TL;DR : Try it !
Okay, it's almost 3 months since last advice, and for now which ROM is the best? Is DotOS still worth installing, or should I choose something newer, like Evolution X 6.0 or DerpFest (which are on A12)?
I am looking for great stability and camera, fast fingerprint sensor, good battery and working SafetyNet. Also, good RAM management would be significant for me, as I get very frustrated, when MIUI is reloading app that was recently opened. It's like c'mon, this phone has 6 GB of RAM, more than some older PC's.
Also, did you hear about ANXCamera? Is it good?

Yeah I still use DotOs, stability is great also fingerprint scanner is fast, Battery is crazy compared with MIU easy 8-9 hour screentime. Which translates for me to 7+ days without charging.
Yes I have ANXCamera installed which is like 95% the same as MIUI camera. Only thing I found was that its says 48MP instead of 64MP, but I never use that mode all other modes are working correct.
