Have you wondered about ChromeOS and all these new Chromebooks out? Want to see if it can handle your day to day needs? Well if you have an old PC/laptop you can run CloudReady, which is based on ChromiumOS for free off of a usb memory stick. If you decide you want to use it as your daily, it allows you to install it from there. It is great at bringing and older device that can hardly run windows back to life. Allow you to run a very fast desktop-class browser.

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I777 using XDA App
Wow congrats, if you are brave enough, you can try to root the tablet using flash-able CWM SD card to see if the boot-loader is locked down on the new tablet or not.
Anyways congrats, lets us know your first impression.

Nope, NT is unlocked and SD-bootable like NC We need just compile CM7 for the new hardware.
great, but before we go to CM7, let see if we can at-least root it first. Having root will be a good first step, and should be much easier to achieve.
I'm going to get one the second I get off work haha. Leaving as early as i can.

The NC bootable SD images won't work on the NT. We'll have to rebuild everything for OMAP4 and the right configurations. Hopefully BN will release the source soon.

How do you know it's SD bootable?

I also just got my Nook Tablet (about 5 minutes ago). Eager to get this thing into a fully functional tablet.
NK IS bootable from SD, but we don't have the IMAGES that it will boot from.
Fill your heart with patience, people =)
Yup, got mine too. The B&N store near my area had 9 left when I picked up one. Waiting for CM7 to come in!
I will be grabbing one of these the first week of december personally which gives the devs time to root it and for them to begin work on porting either CM7 or CM9 to it as well.
Just brought home our reserved Nook Tablet. The local B&N had about 40 behind the counter for those who signed the reserve list... no 'spare' NT units in plain sight, so we just bought one. (I'm waiting for root status and image development to ramp up before I get one - this one's for my wife.)
First impressions: Compared to the stock Nook Color, it *screams*. Compared to my overclocked / nootered NC, very fast.
Very fast processor, very responsive toggling between screens. Wireless was only tested in store, so it'll be interesting to see what speeds we get on the n-wireless network at home. Slightly lighter than the NC, but it feels the same otherwise.
Seems to have some of the functionality of a nootered tablet, but with a slightly more user-friendly home screen than the NC. Apps screen integrated into the Library... I think they did some thoughtful development on this one.
Already have some HD video ready to test, but it's charging at the moment.
Even though I am very happy with the Stock camera app, I want to know if anybody is using something different. Advantages and disadvantages to a aftermarket App. Thanks!
Someone just posted their finding on what they use ... i cant remember where but if I come across it i'll link.
Im using stock and it is ok for me. I don't use it alot but its nice having it there.

I've seen a lot of people suggest LG Camera. It does seem to take pictures a bit quicker (at least, there's no slow, laggy animation when saving the photo) and there are some additional quality options...but not all of the options work, and geotagging doesn't seem to be functional. I keep going back to the stock app.
Morning all. I've had so many problems with 5.0 on my GPe that I was finally able to get Google to replace it under warranty. Now that I have my replacement, I figured I should wait to update till the new release came out. The biggest problem with that, is that my GWatch is now on 5.0 and so now I'm having problems with its integration and compatibility! So, do I deal with the funky watch, or update to 5.0??? I just don't know anymore...
Sorry but this is not development. I have moved this thread to q&a.
Having said this, if you are having integration issues, I would update to lollipop. It is lot that bad if you have a locked bootloader...
There are two rules in life for being successful:
1. Never reveal everything you know;
2.
5.1 i guess is next

I didnt have problems with GPE port and G Watch btw.
Afternoon X'ers, is there any chance that someone is working on a Kernel with sound enhancement? We only have one kernel available atm and the dev won't add it Trust me, I've looked into doing it myself, but I'm afraid it's beyond me. Can anyone help?
If you want to improve sound qsuliry use an equilizer such as V4A. If low latency us what your looking for, I'm not sure how practical it would be. Typically quality is most altered via the audio libraries themselves and not the kernel

Oh and the dev won't add something like thatu because it affects the entire system occasionally causing instability
If you have rooted your devices and installed custom recovery, just flash lolliviper. zip, and enjoy the amazing sound..
thanks for your replies, it's more for gain increasing... I'll have a look for lolliviper.zip though, thanks!
I debloated the latest build and tweaked a couple tiny things. It seems a ton smoother than stock. I still play with it from time to time to make it smoother. If there is any interest, I can refine it a bit more and upload it for you guys.
I'd be interested in a debloated build for sure.
Yes i would be interested in a debloated rom. The stock one is a battery drainer.
I'm still working on it to make it much lighter and smoother. I took out all of the fit apps. Why do we need ASUS fit apps AND Google fit apps? I don't use these things, but they can be added from the PlayStore if you want. I find that a lot of things are much quicker without all the added bloat. Debloating a watch is much different than debloating a phone. Hopefully one of these days I'll feel that it's ready to push to you guys and see what you think.
I would LOVE that as well!
more interested...
Definitely interested
I'd be interested.
Me too!
I finally uploaded something! Let me know what you think. https://forum.xda-developers.com/zenwatch-2/development/sparrow7-1-1debloat-rom-t3800067
I am also very interested. Could you write a tutorial on how to install the ROM? That would be great.
Did you follow the link in the post just before yours? It has all the commands listed, just follow them in order.
Don't know if you are still interested in this watch. If yes and it is not too much work could you please implement the build.prop patch to disable wake on touch? Living in a rainy area and watch is always on when clothes get wet. Very annoying. Maybe you can show me and others to change buildprop without being referred every reboot... But your debloated image with this patch would be stellar. ?
Still like this watch very much....
