Hello, I have run into a problem with titanium backup. It seems to stop the multi profile setting ok apps from working every now and then. E.g I have Facebook and messenger using multi profile (users for me and my partner) and sometimes when I switch the profile using the multi user button it will only switch one of the apps or neither. I'm really hoping this problem is fixable thanks.

Jumping from rom to rom the app reinstall process becomes something of a pain.
What do you guys do to speed this up?

There is an option that google can sync all your apps. But I don't use that.
I use titanium backup PRO (non pro version does not work too well in this case). It's not about installing needed apps faster but also I keep my data, for example highscores

You have to be a little careful in ny experience in reinstalling all apps and data using titanium. After a few reinstalls you can get issues with memory / slowing, particularly if you are changing between different versions android.
I use Mybackup Pro to back up call logs and sms. I use app2zip to save a cwm flashable version of all my apps (to save reinstalling them all). I use a titanium backup to restore the datavto a few critical apps. That way, the installs are as clean as possible.

Do you keep highscores or game achievements that way? I play some games where I really don't want to loose my progress, unlocked content ...
I use GO BACKUP it works great for getting my applications and data back. Had no problems at all with it.
Go with titanium back up pro. Only back up user apps and user app data. Otherwise you'll have issues.
To the poster that warned you about being careful restoring apps don't listen. You won't have any problems if you restore user apps and data, only system apps and data will cause issues. I have yet to experience any issues restoring user apps and data and I've switched roms, switched android versions (gb to ics) switched devices (multiple times) and have never had issue restoring user apps and data
And why you want the pro paid version is it has a batch operation. If you don't have the pro version you have to sit there and press "install" for each app it restores with the pro version its automatic so no need to confirm every time a app is restored

thanks guys for the useful advice! although i think ill try the free app2zip before paying for ti pro key.
Here is the problem. I've been using custom ROMs since they became available on S3. Most of this ROMs recommend doing a WIPE prior to flashing via CWM for a clean install. It was ok but then I noticed that my Facebook App, Messenger and even inlcuding the built-in Email app doesn't give me any notfications whatsoever. But if check the said apps, new messages and alerts are there, the only difference is there are no LED Notifications and No Tones and No Alerts even at the Pull Down Notification Screen. I have checked the app's settings regarding sync and everything is ok. I tried both this methods, restoring apps from Titanium Backup and restoring the app's apk files which I managed to save thanks to Android Assistant. I even tried uninstalling those apps then downloading them again from PlayStore, only to encounter the said issues.
What can I do about this? Since then I was forced to just directly flash the ROMs without any Wipe.
System settings?
So does that mean you have checked the system settings as well?
Yes I did

Yes. I've checked everything. Quite strange actually
Yeah I came across this problem as well, but my email notifications and everything all show up except facebook. Whenever I get a notification for facebook, it is only through email and not through the actual app itself. It doesn't bother me that much but would be great if someone had an idea how to fix.
Any updates on this?
I have an original SGS, but always go through the same problem whenever I clean install a new ROM.
I've found out that if:
- I restore app+data from Titanium Backup -> No notifications
- I install app from Play Store, then restore data from TB -> No notifications
- Complete fresh install of app from Play Store -> Notifications work.
Such a pain having to follow this method, and makes me wonder if something is going wrong when TB is restoring.. food for thought anyways, hope this helps!

Data from another rom can mess apps up, if you restore data via titanium its probably from a different rom so that could be messing things up. Or the data in titanium could be corrupt download all apps from play store, and delete the titanium the backup folder and re backup see if that fixes it.

That certainly makes sense, cheers for the heads up!
Another question, something that probably won't work but makes me curious.
You know when you update nightlies, and it gives you that screen when you boot saying 'updating apps'? What is that process doing, and would that correct the data in any way?
On iphone you can enable notifications for an app by jist going in settings- notification
but in android we need to go in each to enable them
why ? isnthere a way to enable all notifications without going in the app?

As far as I know, each app individually controls the notifications it can send - in some cases you even can't enable/disable them. On the other hand, you can disable the sync of certain accounts which, in turn, could disable most notifications of the corresponding apps, but there's no way to batch enable all notifications.
why? Good Question

its because android has a fully open source operating systems, so the app and game developers have to use there own notification settings, so you have to enable or disable the notifications in the app itselfs, there is no app that works perfectly that can switch them all on or off.
i hope i helped you, by the way try out FoxHound Rising 1.9 s3 rom because its mind blowingly awesome

mate use titanium backup and backup your app data and settings then copy your titanium backup data to a safe place then install your new rom and then install your apps including titanium backup and then place your titanium backup data back into the original location and restore the data for the apps you have installed that you have backups for, this will save you alot of time
thats what i do
i make a titanium backup and then restore the user apps with data
but still you need to atleast start that app once to recieve notifications
for example : Whatsapp or drippler or facebook
unless you are talking about backing up some system apps too using titanium backup that are responsible on notification settings

i know what you mean... but most apps you need to log in atleast once just to activate the app such as log in account details or get past the tutorial, but saying that i have not had a problem using titanium backup it remembers all the settings and log in info if you backup correctly
well yeah but i dont get notifications for other apps either like Crickbuzz and apps does not requires login or anything
i do a full backup/restore for all user apps only with data using titanium backup

True. Apps saved via Titanium Backup keep most settings stored - such as login data, notification settings, ringtones settings.
I keep my backups on the external SD, so when I factory reset I can restore the apps just as easily. It would take one big time effort to configure each app, but after that you shouldnt need to do it again... ever.

well said my friend
Does anyone know of an application which can be used to change the loaded profile for an app the same as Titanium does. For example If im using a particular app at home and need it set differently elsewhere I can change the functionality on the fly like possible in Titanium
So I have to switch phones I have smart switch to back up all other data but noticed it does not back up my apps and their preferences etc. So I am stuck having to rebuild my podcast library and re-enter notifications for all my medications... and yes... rebuild my clan village .
So without Root anyone have any suggestions on the best app to do this?
Also not extremely important but it'd be nice if it transfered over the app icon layout I had on the home screens
Thanks!
You can normally backup your user data with adb. Check the XDA forums to find tutorials.
You can also use Helium which works without root AFAIR.
