Hello,
Why there is no threat or forum for the US992 version of the LG g5 (us cellular) ?
Not enough users? Would a rom for at&t version work in the us cellular version ? (since they seem to be very similar)
Thanks.

I'm also wondering this myself. I am looking to use this phone on a gsm network since it is both cdma and gsm capable.

US Cellular G5 LGUS992 here also, on Nougat bone stock.
Flash Not Supported By This Device.
Battery short lived, but swift to charge.
Phone powers off and won't power back on at random low battery percentages 4-20 (not zero) until plugged in to power, whereupon battery level is clearly displayed; well above zero.
US Cellular does NOT (and will not) enable the WiFi SMS/MMS this device.
Fingerprints generally NOT working; must PIN.
Guess I'll search one by one.

I am only guessing, but based on what I know about the Moto x, and all moto phones seem to follow the same rules now days, but the bands were what they advertised only. There was no way to add any other ones.
I get that... I think the same radio is in the "Verizon" version as the "Retail Unlocked" version...
Just a matter of Firmware activating the additional bands..

Radio's don't unlock bands as far as I know. The phone usually has the bands or it doesn't. Some phones may have some bands that aren't active, and can be "unlocked", but I'm not sure Moto does this.
But radios, that can be flashed, don't affect which bands are available. Neither does which carriers firmware you flash. If you even can without having severe issues. (again, talking moto here. Other manufacturers can be different) Afaik
Hi g8x have a wifi calling?
Yes, my US version does.
Just recently got the unlocked version with the dual screen bundle (LM-G850QM). I'm using it on Verizon and the Wi-Fi calling is working! Just FYI as Wi-Fi calling never works on Verizon with unlocked phone that didn't come from Verizon. I did already have a Verizon SIM.....
No such option on the Canadian model.
Not even VoLTE.
I'm on the Rogers network, btw.

Wi-Fi Calling (and other features such as VoLTE) are supported by the LG G8X so long as your carrier has enabled them.

I find it odd that you don't have the option fir VoLTE Or VoWi-Fi... Rogers (at least last time I checked) supported all the IMS features, being VoLTE, ViLTE, VoWi-Fi, and ViWi-Fi. Is your phone purchased from Rogers?

Mine has it on Bell.
True, Rogers support all the services, but they seem to operate on a white-listing model. If the device is not in their allow list, those features will not work.
Another example is the OnePlus phones, same thing.
But usually I see the option but it just wouldn't work. On my phone, it doesn't show at all. Unless LG software hides it automatically, I'd say its not there in the firmware.
This is an unlocked carrier-free Canadian model, not a Rogers phone. Rogers don't actually offer it at all.

Aaahhh.... That makes sense. I tried porting a HTC 10 from Bell to Rogers and had the same issue. They told me it was because the phone wasn't on their whitelist of allowed devices, even though I had the service working under Bell. I'd be willing to bet that the IMS Config file indicates that its to hide VoLTE and VoWi-Fi unless the network supports it. You can try using *#546368#*850# and see if it gives you options for VoLTE in the hidden menus. Likely under IMS Settings.
I can vouch for the G8X on Telus. It does support VoLTE and VoWi-Fi.
When the LG G8X was released Rogers did not carry it, I don't think the carry G8 either, that's how much the LG brand fell, it's only fanboys or people like who gave LG another chance to do better but as you can see they are not doing better, just going on the expectation if they build it suckers will buy it.
Hello, I bought an LG G8X from USA (model # LM-G850UM) which has the Sprint firmware on it. Is it possible to convert it to the Canadian firmware and lock the bootloader after flashing it? The goal is to be able to use Wifi calling from Freedom Mobile which is not available with the current firmware. Furthermore, I want to be able to use Google Pay and Netflix if at all possible.
I did not find any links on the net to download the Canadian firmware.
I have the LMG850EMW variant in India and am facing severe issues with JIO on LTE. The network indicator keeps flipping between LTE and LTE+. I have not seen an update since March 24th. This phone has given me the worst experience so far. Unfortunately this guide seems to only work for single SIM variants.

Do u have sprint firmware in kdz format or tot? I really need it
Hi, wondering if anyone has converted any of the carrier models to the US Retail model. If so can you please share the instructions.
Also wondering can the International ROM be flashed and the SIM Card tray changed to make the US Moto G Power to a dual sim model?
I used this guide to flash from the Google Fi ROM to the Retail ROM and then the Verizon ROM. Verizon doesn't seem to like the phone unless it is their ROM. Otherwise I would have left it on the Retail/RETUS ROM.

After flashing the retail version XT2041-4 mine still stays the same on carrier version XT2041-6 (Consumer Cellular).
My bootloader is unlocked and flash was successful but still not change on carrier version.

So you have the retail US Moto G Power xt2041-4 and was able to successfully flash the Verizon Moto G Power firmware on it?
Do you now have WiFi calling and Visual Voicemail on your Moto G Power?
I'm asking because I have the unlocked retail xt2041-4 and am using it on Verizon but all the Verizon features don't work on the retail model so I am thinking of flashing the Verizon firmware on it.
Btw, thanks for the Reddit link.

I had the Google Fi edition, which is also fully unlocked. However it didn't play well with Verizon until I flashed the Verizon ROM. I can confirm wifi calling worked, but I didn't check visual voicemail before giving it to someone else.

Okay great. Thanks.
What about the Consumer Cellular Moto G Power? After Consumer Cellular unlocks it after 30 days on one of their plans. Will it then work on all carriers including VZW?
Because right now at CC it's $150 + 1 month service to get it unlocked.
i.e. can they be cross-flashed 100%?
do they have the same hardware band support?
To answer your question, the various versions of V60 are architecture-wise same but NOT band-wise. They are custom catered to the operating bands of various cellular companies. Cross-flashing is restricted by the firmware. But even if you are able to, your phone may not work reliably (or at all) due to bands difference.
Thanks! I'm seeing that people have done great work in getting these rooted so I was curious if the modem firmware is interchangeable.
According to GSM Arena, they aren't all the same hardware as the Verizon version is 5g heavier than the international version.

A difference of 5 gram comes from an imposition by Verizon. Architecture-wise all V60 are identical.
