I loaded the P7510 root files on it (BAD IDEA for anyone reading).
I tried to "re-stock" it with the P7500 stuff and it wouldn't work. (when I get home I will try to find the right .pit file and try it again)
I tried to push a new rom with ADB and flash it and so far no joy.
If anyone has any ideas I am open to them.
if anyone has the t-mobile 10.1 tab.... CWM recovery seems to work. I need a full system backup to restore my tab. If anyone can help it would be appreciated.

What version of the CWM do you have? I found that 4.x and 5.x versions create different file types for the nandroid backup and they are not compatible.
I can create a backup for you tomorrow for any of the CWM, just tell me which one you need.
[EDIT]
I have a unbranded 10.1 3G and the backup would be from a modded Overcome ROM, but at least you would get the tab back to work.
[/EDIT]
I think it needs to be the T-Mobile ROM. I can flash stock roms for the P7500 if they are the same. Anyone else try any roms on the t-mobile tab?

Didn't the T-Mobile just release? Your the first post I have seen for it. What the model? P7500 or something else?
Also, FYI or not, this does not belong in the Dev section. Please read the rules for posting.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/announcement.php?f=1053
It was meant as a combined warning and cry for help I figured since this is where everyone comes for info on root... the warning should be here too. The model number is SGH-T859
you may need some one else to do a t-mobile rom dump, and reflash either through cwm or odin. Did you check the samsung firmware site for a recovery image? As a last resort, you could exchange it for a new one. And of course make a good backup in the future to go off of.
BTW, that is odd that your model number is so different from the normal gt-7xxx. Just to be sure, this is a galaxytab 10.1 or 8.9, right?
Yeah it is a 10.1 .... t-mobile always has a new number but it does surprise me that the p7500 stuff isn't working... I will try again tonight. If anyone has the T-Mobile 10.1 tab please send me a system backup

Not surprised the model number is different considering the LTE from Verzion is different as well.
ok so I got it to work with the 002001-Overcome_CWM_Recovery_v5.1.2.3.tar here
I am making a backup. I couldn't get the "re-stocking" part to work. It looks like we need a .pit file. But if you want the CWM recovery that should work.
So far my wifi hasn't come back :'(
I am going to try a few more things and report back
Wish I'd seen you're posts sooner. I pretty much followed you right off the same cliff. I was hoping that an easy solution was at hand. I'm much more a noob at this stuff, and am having trouble communicating with the tablet at all, much less doing anything to problem solve it. I do have CWM v4.0.1.4 working and would be happy just getting the stock kernal back on it. Guess I have a lot of reading and learning to do this week.
If anyone can help, I'd (we) would really appreciate it. I have a long hospital stay coming up on the 14th and this tablet was going to make it a bit more bearable. Is there a way to remove CWM so I could do a return to T-Mobile? Just a thought...
Thanks for any input.
Hmmm this is for the new 10.1 4G model? I have a stock one I had been waiting to root til I could find out if existing methods worked or not

Yeah, don't root it yet. The current root methods don't support it. Man, if you could provide pershoot with an image and/or me with a nandroid backup that would be fantastic. I don't mind waiting for the excellent developers here on XDA to do their stuff (it's always worth it), but I've got about a week to get mine up and running again.
Thanks for whatever you can do.
I got mine to root just fine, using the process in the stickie. I used odin and then cwm to install root. Stayed on stock rom and used Ti backup to uninstall bloatware. I am happy as can be

That's the model number in the about phone screen? What about on the label under the battery?
EDIT: I see, after a quick google search, it is yet another variant. Most common in Japan, where you are. I was unable to find out what SoC/chipset this phone uses, so do NOT use just any Galaxy S2 root method randomly. Especially don't use any from this forum for the I9100. Chances are very good that will brick your phone. Sorry I don't have any better answers for you.
Here is the chip set on it I got from quadrant score....sooooo out looks like we can't do anything with this phone begging to be unleashed?....the info is in the pic below

Is that supported for Mac though?

I don't know. I've never used it. Look it up.
rooted.
I have had this phone for about a month. Just to say that I rooted it the day i got it.
I just used an old microSD card and rooted from this link. (The link to the .zp file is gone, but i found another way - see second link. Should also work fine)

Anyway, its great because I managed to get rid of a lot of AU bloatware. Now trying to figure out how to replace the horrible AU mail programs (SMS/MMS - they both suck so badly) with GO SMS PRO. No idea what the MMS settings for KDDI are though. SMS works fine through GO SMS PRO.
What I would ultimately like to do is to flash this with a better optimized rom. i feel there is so much potential for this phone, but AU (like most other carriers) has filled it with junk....
sooooo...if google translate is correct ( when is ever) I'm suppose to download the recovery.zip to sd card...install it...reboot...then install the root.zip from sd card and reboot and that should give me root for this phone?? any chance of me bricking it????
screw it ill give it a try...lol....balls to the ways...by the way i'm looking into the APN/MMS settings for KDDI...you know your AU address...
THis worked outstanding...except it wouldn't read the sd card when i tried the root.zip install....but all i did was used file manager...copied it to the internal sd...reboot into recovery and installed the root.zip....i shall make a new thread with this information from you....i know there are more of the SGS2 Wimax users....let the root madness begin...
EDIT: I put together a small guide on How To Root SG2 Wimax here, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1576000 ...let me know if you guys have any questions and I'll try to answer them the best I can....
I've had this inexpensive phone for about a month now, and the only reason I'd want root access is to install Titanium Backup or a firewall to freeze/block access to a certain Chinese Android Market app. The app in question sends out a notification to feature new Chinese apps everytime the phone is given internet access and there are no options to disable it within the app itself. And since it came with the phone, it cannot be uninstalled, and of course, it restarts immediately if stopped.
One-clicks do not work-- they all result in directory/permission errors. For example, superoneclick will hang on step 7 and doomlord's method would reboot the phone without making any changes.
It would seem my only resort would be to use a different ROM, but there are no ROMs for this phone. Of course there are methods using similar MTK 6573 phones which are usually just clones in different casings, but I've read that using non-specific ROMs will result in a brick as there are slight differences.
So how should I go about rooting this phone? What are the risks of using a non-specific ROM? Should I give up?

Maybe it isn't possible ;/
After pushing my Googling abilities to their upper limits, I finally found out how to root this phone. It turns out there was a Russian community that archives lots of information on Chinese phones (china-iphone.ru). I can't believe I managed to follow 35 pages of hints via Google Translate. It also turns out that the only way to root this phone is by flashing a recovery image, not by one-clicks. I was able to find a recovery image specific to this phone (STAR I9100) and everything worked out.
I was about to submit a guide on how I went about rooting it, but I can't share links. Oh well. I'm just glad I'll be able to finally be able to do something about the Chinese bloatware.

"doomlord's method would reboot the phone without making any changes."
just a tip: I experienced the same problem when i tried to root my i9001. The problem was, there were not the necessary files on my HDD after I extracted the doomlord's packet. I totally forgot about my virus protection, and because I blocked the notification from that program, the virus scanner automatically deleted the earlier mentioned files. That's why my phone was rebooted several times without making any changes using SuperOneClick and Doomlord too.

Thanks for the reply, but I don't use any real-time anti-virus because I browse the web and run untrusted programs in a sandboxed environment (and of course the one-clicks were ran outside of the sandbox). And I'm not sure which brand your phone is (or if it's even a China phone), but I know that some 2.3.6 China phones could be rooted using one-clicks and some of the same China phones have had 2.3.4 installed which can be rooted easily. It's just that the latest Chinese-branded STAR i9100 (at the time) came with 2.3.6 and could not make use of the one-clicks.

It's probably different then. Even though they are clones based from the same phone, they are slightly different when it comes to the hardware positioning and features. For example, 9mm earphone jacks can be seen in different places and screen size varies between 4.1-4.3" even though they are based off the sgs2. There are even some with and without GPSs.
For those of you with different brands like the HDC or GT i9100, try browsing the china-phone.ru MTK65x3 forums. You might be in luck if it turns out there's a thread dedicated towards your specific model. I'd try to be more specific, but I can't post links due to insufficient forum privileges.

Hey man, was wondering if you have any idea about adding new languages or even another rom on this phone. "Stock" rom is horrible, and if there is a way to add a simple basic google stock rom on it, with no extra apps and with a slim launcher it would make this phone a bit faster.
Have to say, good screen tho.

Good Morning,
I have searched around these forums as well as other websites and have not had much luck with a root kit being available.
Phone Info:
Samsung Galaxy SIII Progre
Model: SCL21
Droid Version: 4.0.4
Build Number: IMM76D.SCL21KDALJD
Carrier: Au/KDDI
I have found one other thread about this on these forums, but not much help in that thread.

I was wondering if there might be a forum/development for this model of S3. Any information would be greatly appreciated!
Has that model the same specs as the SC-06D from docomo? If yes, try that rooting method.
Edit:
Just checked it! Should be the same phone. all specs are the same.
So try this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1895737
It should work.
But if not, dont blame me!
Cheers

I'm having the same issue. with the AU SCL21. I did find that you can flash with the team epic CWM recovery method. or the Mskip toolkit method.
(i would have provide links. but I have to adhere to the policy here). feel free to msg me.
Once I flash, however it won't boot into recovery. the SGSIII logo appears upside down, and just hangs. Sometimes, it will boot into normal mode after it hangs a bit. but it's never booted into recovery. I've flashed 23 times now, and used several good micro usb cables. If anybody could help with this, Man i'd be so happy.
Messaging App missing?
Would you happen to know where the native android messaging application is on this device? I'm running 4.0.4 on the SLC21 and I ONLY have the AU SMS service (which makes me want to die a little inside). I've tried using secondary messaging services but they all work off of the database from the native android "Messaging" app. My phone does not have that application apparently and I can't seem to find it anywhere. My Kanji is non-existent so if they hid it somewhere and are calling it something else I can't find it. Any ideas? I want my SMS's to migrate to a different messaging service because I'm texting US numbers as well through TextPlus.

Dunno if you ever found a solution to this, but in case you haven't then it's your lucky day. Not however that neither of these lets to text US numbers for free.
You can't "migrate" your SMS to a different service, but you can access them with a different app. I found out today that if you are a Facebook user then Facebook Messenger works for both FB Chat and SMS. Download the program, login, then getting into the apps settings and turn on SMS texting. It will capture your texts and thread them into a conversation.
If you happen to not use Facebook for whatever reason, then Go SMS Pro also does a fine job. Whichever method you choose, make sure to disable the AU SMS in the Application Management section of the phones settings so that you don't get dual notifications. Hope that helps.
Are you able to do the unlocking

I'm sorry once you root your phone, it will be considered as Out of warranty and to fix it will cost. We do not provide any downloads you need to bear the charges for repair and mail the device to us.

Rachel said19:51:37 12-11-2014)
I'm sorry is the phone is locked with the password?
You said19:52:42 12-11-2014)
No I would just like it to be GSM free so that I may use it with any carrier I choose
Rachel said19:53:04 12-11-2014)
We apologise you need to contact your servcie provider for network unlock code.
You said19:55:09 12-11-2014)
I take it you are not familiar with any programming code.as there is multiple calculators that I've already calculated imie codes.I thought it would be more convenient to contact the manufacturer and ask thim directly.
Rachel said19:56:37 12-11-2014)
We are being the manufacturer we do not provide any unlock codes to the cutomers. we are through the service providers and we manufacture devices, according to the service provider's request.
Rachel said19:57:34 12-11-2014)
Regarding the unlock code its related to service provider, who may provide you the network unlock code, only in case if you request them to get unlocked, hence please do contact your service on this and have a check.

Bit of an off topic question here.. but I'm looking for a user of the android set concord 2 to let me do some remote control testing of my web app. I've got a customer who has a problem on that specific phone and I can't reproduce it.
Thanks.
Help! Plz
I am rooted. Flohawks awesome asec.bat file. I was wondering if i could change the recovery.img and edit the asec.bat file to install twrp instead of cwm? Cwm is unable to mount my ext sd. I have never had any problems w/ twrp and also want to try out the new colors they have.
Has anyone found a way to root the ZTE concord without a computer.??? I had kingroot work just for about five mins than it says when it needs authorization it kicks back saying it's not rooted anymore. So I can't flash supersu zip. I'm not sure what to do. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks so much!
bricked Z730 (did not root it, I think), looking for toolkit to fix
- using Z730 the cell phone for work (e-mail, calendar, phone), always worked reasonably well,
- somehow deleted/disabled the wrong apps: result: could not get work e-mail and calendar to function any more nor could the help desk. (tried to delete account and re-install, did that many times successfully in the past, can't connect to server any more; phone/web works, google account works, server works from all other devices tried)
- The phone seems somewhat messed up (e.g. camera app missing [also not under 'disabled apps'])
- not sure what I am saying here, but I thought it would be a good idea to use a 'toolkit' and fix the OS (Android 4.3)
- where do I find the right toolkit with reasonably foolproof instructions?
Thanks for any help
