Update (4/12/17) I am doing my best to mark paid users with **. The confirmation numbers being listed in the thread are different than what the received payment confirmation numbers I am being provided. Kind of confusing but doing my best. If you don't put your username down in the notes when sending payment, it is difficult to confirm who you are. I have names first name and last initials on my payment list. If you paid and are not marked with **, private message me you first name and last initial. Thanks
Update (4/8/17) I can confirm that stereo speakers are now working on a LOS based ROM I tested.
Bounty payments should be made to @DrakenFX
He has a button to donate a cup of tea. (Please include your XDA username in the Note section so proper Thanks can be given to donators) @DrakenFX will in turn forward said tea to our Anonymous savior. Over the next couple of days, I will be private messaging all those that pledged to donate. A big thank you to everyone who is donating, everyone that did the dirty work and a special thanks to Anonymous, whoever you are.
Update (4/7/17) Tentatively we have a claim for bounty. Once provided and tested. I will be private messaging a friendly reminder to those who pledged to please pay.

I would like to start a bounty for anyone who can provide the code for getting both channels.(left and right) with the front facing speakers on Axon 7 working on custom Roms (LOS, RR... maybe this will be a question born of ignorance since I've never built a rom before, but isn't everything necessary to make audio work just as it does on stock contained within the stock rom? i mean, last time i briefly tried LOS which admittedly was over a month ago, i did notice for instance that the audio related configuration files normally located in places like /etc and /vendor/etc (among others) were simply not there. not that that's the cause of the issue but they are important, they affect things like output pathing and when the hifi dac can be used and what format/sampling rates are available for what output sinks etc...
i may make a telegram room for this. so anyone who wants to help out can come kick ideas around

Yeah it's an issue with all non stock based roms, not just LOS or RR.
Badboyz rom for example has as good as stock audio since it is stock based.
I wish you the best of luck in finding out how to make speakers work properly.

just for clarification this isn't simply an issue with the phones onboard speakers only doing mono vs stereo right it was my understanding that there are underlying issues with audio quality in general, likely relating to the custom roms not having a system in place to take advantage of the ak4461
I'll add $15 to the bounty as well.
Teen bucks if it will work like stock Dolby or better.
I'll throw in $15 for this.
It looks like /drivers/soundwire/* and /sound/soc/codecs/wcd9335.c is the magical controller in ZTE's public kernel.
My current LineageOS build machine is an ancient laptop that's slow and doesn't have an IDE yet. I can compile but I'm nowhere near ready to edit.
$10 from me to someone who is able to fix speakers problems on LOS based ROMs.
I'm willing to put in $20.

Nah. Im willing to add 15$ dollars!
8 Euros from Europe
$50 US Dollars
from the US
20$ from Germany

For people that expressed interested in donation can still donate, but the funds will go directly to the NT development team, as either reserve for another donation developer device, or as funding for the celebratory party for when the bootloader is finally broken and we can get custom rom into our beloved NT
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi my fellow Nook Tablet tinkers and enthusiast, adamoutler has expressed interested in helping us developing for NT, he has extensive experience breaking bootloader for hardware locked devices. I want to see if we can get enough interested from the forum to poll together $280 - $300 dollar to cover the cost for the NT and shipping.
What you guys think of the idea? If we can get enough interest, I am in for $10.
Here is adamoutler own input on the topic

I've been sitting back watching this thread for a while now. It's time to stop this foolishness. First off, the first post was started with absolutely no information.. basically 'you know what would be cool?'.. then the rest of the discussion has been a bunch of randomness. Why has not a single person mentioned the datasheets for the processor or memory? Why has Boone posted a memory dump of IROM? This thread contains nothing useful.
UnBrickable mod is the way to go. Put a device in my hands and ill enable it to boot from USB or sdcard. The device uses a hardware initiates boot chain. This chain can be broken at the hardware level.
This is an omap4430 device right?
Give me a device. Rebellos and I will locate the boot mode 5 pin which unlocks the boot from one NAND. We will then require an interceptor bootloader which is where Rebellos specializes. Once we hardware unlock the device and the interceptor bootloader is in place, the device will accept an insecure bootloader flash.

+1 on rayman. Great dev.
Any idea on his level of commitment if he were to receive a nook?
I mean I wouldn't want to be like 'HERE IS 250$ BUY A NOOK YOUR HIRED!'
Sure free stuff is nice.. but, it just seems more polite to ask them first..
I think either one would be great. Dalingrin have experience pushing the limit of the NC kernel which has some similarities to the NT kernel. He is also a driving factor for getting CM7 stable on the NC, as well as leading the effort on getting ICS on the NC. I think he can contribute the most in helping us getting a custom and stable CM7 going, even working within the limitation on the NT stock kernel.
I am not too familiar with Rayman's work, but by the sound of the reference from the forum members here, he would be an awesome developer to help support the NT. By the way what is his expertise?
I don't mind we who we donate the NT to, as long as he/she p hehe) can be a great contributor to the NT forum, and help us get custom ROM on the NT sooner. Or even maybe even a custom ICS compatible kernel.
Let see how much interest we can get for a device donation. Once we get the necessary commitment ($260 inc Tax) for a NT, then we can reach out to the developers to see if either one of them is interested.
I'd be in for $10.
Another 10$ from me for sure
I'm in for $10

Hi,
suicideclown managed to get the message to me and here I am
So, yeah, it sounds interesting, BUT:
I'm European so I wouldn't be able to buy one myself
Does the NT even work decently outside of US?
I work on a number of devices, so my spare time is limited
For my previous work, you can checkout at least www.androidroot.mobi
It's mostly directed towards transformer so far, but we have been discussing branching out to other devices, lol. I'm also working on ICS for TF and Notion Ink Adam and I have gotten quite far with that. (including porting to newer kernels)
Disclaimer:
Even if I spent 24/7 on a thing like this, there's no guarantee it's doable. IF I were to get a device I'd certainly spend a considerable amount of time trying to unlock as much as possible, but there's no guarantees ever with things like this.
I realize my response is a bit cryptic, but I just want to make clear how things would work if I were to receive a device in this way (So far, I have bought every single device I've hacked on!)

We could ship you one , It works fine outside the US, you just wouldnt be able to take advantage of the barnes and noble content. .
Would you also need a power converter for europe, or do you have one of these already?
I would donate $10 to getting him a nooktablet.
If he wants, we could have the tablet shipped to me and I can remove the apps that it uses to authenticate to Barnes and noble.

Is there a need for that? I'm in Singapore and I managed to register just fine. If shipping is a concern, I am a big fan of Borderlinx (you will need a Citibank credit card for that). They are an excellent reshipping service and you can usually google up a discount coupon code.
I've got $10 on it
I am wondering if it would be easier to buy it from Amazon reseller and have it ship to Europe, instead of me or someone else handling the shipping.

Note that I can't commit to developing for it!
What I mean is:
I'll spend time (a fair amount of time!) trying to break it open
I'll spend time developing whatever tools I might need to get it done (and release source)
I won't be making custom roms and similar if 1) succeeds.
Developing is a very broad word, and it easily leads to misunderstandings, so just wanna set expectations right

1. Shipping can be handled easily.
2. Yes, the only thing is in order to purchase anything from the Market the Nook would need to have a bank account that is either from the US or Canada. This would be a non issue of course as I doubt you would need anything from the B&N Market, and even if you did you could always load up a giftcard and tie it to a B&N account and make purchases that way.
3. A number of us would greatly appreciate any time that you would be able to devote to this device.

Hi,
I'm looking for a custom rom / app solution for my mother in-law (who is becoming more senile)
It would require the following function
- Limited outbound calls to a set of restricted numbers
- GPS tracking
- Removal of all unnecessary apps
- Removal of e-mail / Facebook / browser functions
Any suggestions ?
I dont really know if there such a rom, but give a try this app, https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=name.kunes.android.launcher.activity , its called BIG LAUNCHER, and helps a lot to the elderly .

I'm taking care of my 82 yr old grandpa and also looking into ways to get technology into it to make it easier.I urge all developers to give this some thought and make some stuff now when you have the ability and make some stuff for yourself 10,20,or 50 years down the road .
I am thinking something like Siri or cortana (goodmorning Bill here is your paper, its cold outside so put on some pants if you plan on going out.)

I'm looking for the same thing, I dumpster dive and I found this same awesome touchscreen display running Android. I haven't had any luck installing any apps, and the only thing I can do is go through the very limited setting menu. Any help would be awesome
Have you guys had any luck with this? The unit doesn't even recognize apk files, much less give me the option to install them.
It looks like some other people have found Amiibo kiosks and want to hack them. I've got one too. The information posted in the OP is what I know so far. It would be cool to be able to install some other apps or even get a custom version of Android running on these things. I'm sure other people are looking for information on them. Since the Nintendo Switch was released, these things are in the wild either through dumpster diving or knowing people at the retail stores. They could make for a very cool game room project if someone can provide a little information on the http://www.ducotech.com/ displays.
The only thing I was actually able to do was make it play movies. But for some reason it restarts after a few minutes, as if it has an auto restart set to a specific time.

Good luck finding one, you would need to find someone who works for the company that provides the displays. And I'm sure it wouldn't be cheap either. It's like selling someone's codes for their bank account. If a security dongle got out and was duplicated, that could be harmful for their business.
I found some workarounds and posted them here here:

OnePlus explaining the new referral programme in a blog post, "Anyone who's ever bought a OnePlus smartphone past, present, or future, can get a unique referral link. Once you've got a link, just share it with someone interested in buying a OnePlus device and wait for them to hit the order button. If your friend uses your link to purchase a OnePlus smartphone, they'll receive $20 - or an equivalent amount in your local currency - off on an accessory of their choosing. No more than 30 days later, we'll drop 100 referral points in your referral hub."
From OnePlus FAQ:

Whoever first successfully creates a working wear24 ROM with NFC enabled and Google Pay Support, will win the money pool. In order for one to claim the prize they must PM me with a working ROM, I will test the ROM and if it is valid, I will award them the money pool. In order to participate you must donate at least $5.00 USD to the money pool, make sure to notate the donation with your username.
You do not have to participate in order to donate money to the pool. Show your support to the dedicated DEVS! The higher the pool, the harder and faster they will work!
Edit:
Here is the pool. The deadline is July 4th 2018. If no one claims the prize the funds will be refunded to the supporters.
Good idea

I just picked one up for $59.99 Brand New and I'm quite interested if development will pick up now.
Would be excellent if it's 2 types: NFC enabled and NFC enabled minus the Verizon's bloatware.
Anyone know the best way to start a donation pool? Paypal? Kickstarter? or is there a website dedicated to competitions and such?
