V88 Pro running XTMod - Android Stick & Console AMLogic based Computers

FIRST, there has got to be a better way then this, it's convoluted BUT worked...
This is step by step how I (by chance) upgraded my V88 Pro (S905X chipset) to XTMod by Xannytech
All downloads and additional instructions are on the XTMod page linked above. You will need a flash drive, a male to male usb cable and a windows based computer.
1. Download XTMOD_EX_P .ZIP and place on a flash drive, some folks call them thumb drives. Place the flash drive in the rear usb port next to the spdif port of your V88 device.
2. Download Amlogic USB Burning Tool. I used version v2.0.6.2_build2 found here. Unzip this download and install on a windows based computer.
3. Download XTMOD_EX_P .IMG and save to your computer.
4. On your V88 open the update app, click select and chose the XTMOD_EX_P .ZIP you downloaded. LEAVE wipe data and wipe media UNCHECKED... Now click the update button. Your device will reboot and fail on the update. You should now be in the recovery mode that list several options. Now pull the flash drive and replace it with the male to male usb cable, with the other end plugged into your computer.
5. Open Amlogic USB Burning Tool, Click on the File menu in the upper left hand corner, and select Import Image. Then you’ll need to navigate to the location you saved the XTMOD_EX_P .IMG file and select it. Under Configuration check Erase Flash and Erase Bootloader with Normal Erase selected.
6. Back on your V88 on the recovery mode screen, select reboot to bootloader. My V88 rebooted to blank green screen.
7. Back on your computer the Amlogic USB Burning Tool should now see your device. Click Start. When the Burning Tool finishes, unplug the power to your V88, unplug the male to male usb cable then close out the Burning Tool.
8. Plug the power back into the V88.
9. Stand on one leg, close your left eye and Pray. (Just joking)
I know this seems crazy, but it works. My V88 is running perfect on XTMOD.
Be sure and thank Xannytech for this firmware. :good::good::good:

Seems legit since the "guide" to put V88 PRO in Recovery goes through using a dummy zip (rom's zip in your example) and try to update from it.
This forces the recovery mode, which can be used to install our new ROM
Thanks for your miniguide

Is there a trick to getting it to boot to recovery? I cant seem to get mynupdate software to even find the zip file. When unplug it in to the usb flash tool, the flash tool sees the box, but when I try to flash the xtmod image, I get an error that indicates it is the wrong firmware at 4%

Lenovo P780 - Won't boot

Hi All,
Have seen the numerous posts on this forum for the Lenovo P780, but cannot for the life of me get mine to work again
Model: P780 4GB (believe it is the Chinese version as when I first started it, Android was in Chinese (hence me trying to replace the ROM).
Here are the symptoms:
Black screen, won't power on, cannot even get into factory reset mode.
Tried the reset button on the back of the phone (some say 3-5 seconds others say 20 seconds - Tried both, nothing!).
Tried to fix the problem by doing the following:
Download the SP Flash Tools version 5.1352.01 and ran them on my Windows 7 Machine as Administrator.
Loaded the P780_ROW_S226_4GB_KIT_KAT (as this is what I thought would do the trick.)
Selected the MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc.txt file and then Firmware Upgrade set, then hit download, connected the phone to the laptop (red light on the phone), SP Flash Tool then goes to 100% Download DA (in red), and then the message "Unrecognized ROM detected".
That's it nothing else. Can't power on the phone.
Any advice help would be appreciated before I throw this phone through a window!!!
Thanks,
Mak.

Hi Stympy,
I have managed to get an Android ROM installed on the P780. Details are:
Android version 4.2.1
Build: P780_S136_140306
The only problem now is that the rear camera does not work, and have been told that trying to install a non-standard ROM could have blown the rear camera.
As I am not experienced with flashing these (or any other types of smartphones), I have no idea if this is correct.
Any advice would be appreciated.

USB Burning Tool with TWRP

Hi all,
I have a minix U1 that was wiped (no OS). TWRP is installed and I can boot to it (hold power for 6 seconds).
I am trying to install the stock Minix ROM FW013 (most recent) but when booting into TWRP the USB Burning Tool does not connect to the box. I have tried multiple version of the burning tool, currently have 2.0.8 installed.
Any idea how I can installed the stock IMG ROM?
Having a TWRP recovery installed does not always mean the recovery is working - are you certain it is the right version and that it works for your box?
And I fail to see what the recovery has to do with the burn tool - it should find the box if you use the correct connection and start procedure.
Plus - if the firmware is not for the burn tool but in fact to be used with the recovery then you should be able to flash it with TWRP directly.
I updated TWRP and ensured it was the right version for my unit
Connect procedure is open the burning tool>connect OTG cable>hold power button for 6 seconds from off state to enter TWRP
My laptop makes the USB connected nose but the burning tool doesn't display anything
Minix U1 fw install
Simple way is to start the usb Burn tool on your computer, load the FW image, then select start. Now ensure box is powered off, plug in usb cable to computer and box. Press and hold the power button and listen for the bling bing sound of the usb burn tool on windows, then release the power button, it will load the fw. Make sure you have no other usb dongles or scares in the device. Works for me every time.
Please refer to the manufacturer's official firmware guide to recover your device.

[GUIDE][HOW-TO] Revive Xiaomi Mi3 from being totally bricked

Disclaimer: I did this on a Mi3, although it might work for other Xiaomi devices. Don't blame me if it ends up blowing your device into pieces.
So after years of service, my Mi3 gave out. No blinking lights, screen won't turn on, and download/fastboot mode wouldn't work. Connecting the phone showed an unrecognized USB device. Thought that I would just let it go already, but the fixer in me couldn't help but try.
And amazingly, it's now brought back to life! Here's what I did:
Step 1: Download the flash tool and fastboot rom here http://en.miui.com/a-234.html
Step 2: Install the flash tool along with the drivers in the program
Step 3: Disassemble your device until you have access to the motherboard and battery. You will need a few tools for this. A small hook or a flat screw along with a thin but sturdy card (like a credit card) can pop the back cover open. Here's a good disassembly guide. http://www.myfixguide.com/manual/xiaomi-mi3-disassembly/
Step 4: Remove the plug of the battery from the motherboard. DON'T CONNECT IT YET (Refer to the image attached below)
Step 5: Remove and then connect the USB from the motherboard. The port might not be properly connected. (Refer to the image attached below)
Step 6: Connect your phone to your computer via USB while the battery isn't plugged. Check device manager, click on "ports" and then check if it says "Qualcomm HS -USB QDLoader 9008" If so, you're on the right track.
Step 7: Extract the Fastboot rom you downloaded. Make sure that you've extracted it to the very core. You should see an "image" folder along with a couple of files.
Step 8: Open Miflash with admin rights and then go to the fastboot folder. NOTE: Do not choose the image folder. Choose the previous folder with cancro...
Step 9: Choose "save user data" at the bottom. You can try clean all, although choosing this kept giving me a hello packet error.
Step 10: Click refresh and the COM port should show up which should match the one you saw in device manager. If so start the flash. Mine took about 170 seconds.
Step11: After the flash succeeds, unplug the phone and then reconnect the battery to the motherboard. Then connect the phone to a charger and check if it works. A red blinking light might appear and that's okay. Just leave it plugged for a while and it should start charging normally. Charge it until it's full and then boot up!
I reassembled my phone after I was sure it can boot. It's working pretty well now! Cheers!
Connecting the phone showed an unrecognized USB device
U can just flash in mi flash in this case
Hello, I'm stuck in nearly same situation with my Mi3. Phone neither gets recognised by PC, neither gets charged (When connected to charger, red light blinks and goes).
And my phone's internal is full of data which I don't want to lose. By flashing fastboot rom, will it erase all data ?

X96 Max Plus2 4GB/64GB Android 9.0 <--solved

Hi community.
I have a problem with my Android Box X96 Max Plus with the Amlogic S905x3 Chip.
The problem is that i can't install anything on it. I sign in with my google account and i got Error 403 and error 192 when i tried to install something from the playstore.
So i cleared the data and the cache for the playstore and i tried another account. I also did a factory reset on the box. Nothing works.
After this i tried to install an apk from a usb stick with setting unknown sources "on" but this also didn't work (installation abort).
Next step i downloaded the latest firmware for the box and tried to installed it on recovery mode but the error 21 appeared.
I also tried to flash TRWP in recovery mode (with a usb stick) but the error 21 also appeared.
Do i have to unlock the bootloader first or is the only way to flash a firmware on the box with a flash tool and the connected box on the PC (with)?
Whats wrong with this box or is something wrong with me?
Can you help me?
Thanks
Matthias
hello
i had the same problem the only thing that fixed it is to update firmware but to do that you need to identify your box model first
1-then download latest firmware
2-download and install usb burning tools : https://androidmore.com/download/4004/?dlm-dp-dl-force=1&dlm-dp-dl-nonce=baef81bb4a
3- open the usb burning tools application
4- Click the second option on the top bar to reveal the option for changing the language to english
5- click on the File option and click import image to import your firmware .img file.
6- Make sure to untick the overwrite key box
7-connect your box using male to male usb cable (plug it in the blue usb 3.0) and wait for drivers to be installed
8- unplug your box
9-go back to application and click start
8-connect your box and wait for the flash processes to finish
9-when flash is done unplug your box and click stop close usb burning tools
connect your box to your tv and enjoy

you need to identify your box model first ( Plus , Plus2 , Plus100, etc )
if you have the 1000Mb Ethernet chip ( RTL8211F ) then you can try SLIMBOX ATV and AOSP last firmware (best one i have tested ):
project slimBOXtv

I really like the slim box Version but i have another problem.
My internal storage says that I only have 32 GB but i ordered the 4/64gb Version (which also stand on the back of the Box). What's the problem?
ok i have figured out that i had a fake firmware on my box preinstalled when the box arrived. So i unfortunately have a 4/64 gb model.
For the solution in the topic, only flashing another firmware helped.
Kudos to SlamD for the help.
