How do I disable the Character Preview in gBoard? - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Have been searching around including in the app, got the latest version of the app and I'm on 6.0.1 with my Z3 and I simply can't find that option anymore.
One of my phones broke and I'm using my black Z3 and I noticed that I had that config on but I simply can't find a way to disable the character preview, does anyone knows how?

s-view question Star N9800

The phone model is mentioned above but pretty sure this is an android question (correct if wrong). the above phone running android 4.22 has an s-view case which when closed allows access to camera, calendar and stock music app.
The problem I have is that the music app is not the one I normally use and want to change it, I've checked everywhere in system settings for anything to do with s-view but the only option available is to change the background colour for s-view window. could someone help me to find or give an idea where changes can be made to settings if there are any ?
I know there is an app available from store for s-view - has anyone tried this? would it interfere current s-view?
thanks

Google Sound Search Widget Uppercase Text?

I just installed Google Sound Search on a new device and I noticed something that's been bothering me. The version of Google Sound Search that I have uses uppercase text on the widget as shown in this screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/biZ2nif.png This is bothering me because previously the text was not uppercase, and now it looks like the widget is constantly yelling a question.
What's interesting is that when I go to select widgets from my launcher, it looks normal: https://i.imgur.com/kRFcXxy.png, but once I place it on my home screen the text becomes uppercase.
I tried using fjapktools to decompile the Sound Search app and change the string for this text. I noticed that in all the locale files the text is not uppercase, so I did a search for the Java function toUpperCase() and replaced it with toString() in most .smali files where it occurred. I recompiled the app, signed it, and installed it, but the text was still uppercase.
I'm not really sure where to proceed from here. Is it capitalized for anyone else? I searched Google but no one seems to have mentioned it anywhere. Does anyone know when the app was updated to be like this? I am willing to install an older version of the app if it means the text will be normal again, but I'm not really sure which version to get or if that will have any affect.
Bump

Basic editing of lockscreen

Hi Guys, My phone has any annoying camera shortcut on the lockscreen I keep swiping accidentally, I would like to remove it, my phone is a Nubia running lollipop, its a customised UI so xposed apps/root apps that can change the lockscreen don't work for me.
I have decompiled the systemUI and found the areas where the shortcut is, but I cannot get rid of it, adding visibility gone to the line did nothing, removing the line completely gave a crash and trying to make the camera shortcut have the same target as the unlock also made it crash.
Anyone provide any help?
this file is called "keyguard_bottom_area.xml

this is called lockscreen_host_view.xml

any advice would be great!
updated pastebin link to the correct file!

Dark settings menu

Can someone tell me how to make the settings app dark in lollipop 5.0.2. I have used holo themer and it didnt change the white background. I have been searching ever since i rooted on 5.0.2 lollipop for a way to change the white backgeound in settings and have not found a way that works. Does anyone know where the white image that is used for that background is in the filesystem. I really cannot stand thw white background. My sons samsung mega on 5.0.2 has a black settings menu. Can anyone help me to make the z3v have dark settings. PLEASE HELP
If you're not rooted, (also works if you are rooted) the best you've got is Sony's own theme creator. It's still in beta unfortunately, I can't say how well it works. But I'm sure it'll have what you need. You can find it here.
If you are rooted, There is a way. Sadly I don't have the knowledge to do such things. But, I'm 100% sure there's a way to change the values of the coloring in the settings app, by tweaking the code in some way. (It won't be an actual picture file btw, just a set of numbers [rgb]) If you dig deep enough into the forums here, I'm sure you'll find the method somewhere. Not just under the Z3v forums either, it'd be worth it to look in other devices forums, the settings app is pretty universal. I think. If custom rom developers have found a way, you can too. Just needs some effort.
Well, ive been looking around all over xda as well as searching high and low on google search for references to changing the settings menu . But have not been able to find anything helpful to me, that tells anything about changing specificly the settings background. Besides hey use holo themer it works. But i have not been able to get holo to change the white background. Ive seen changes in the text and action bar with holo themer. But nothing affects the white background. I now have a white border around the text. But the background is still white. Ive tried many themes. None of which gave me anything but white settings. Ive been putting out alot of effort to change the settings to somthing dark. All i can find is threads talking about changing random settings period. Not the app itself and its background. My sons and mothers samsung and lg phones on lollipop all have dark settings.. But no way ive tried that works to make xperia settings dark. Ive found threads for other xperias that have modified settings apk. But not sure if they would work or make my settings dissapear since they arent for z3 or z3v

Oxygen Android 13 Lockscreen Message can't be edited

Hi guys,
My system: Android 13 (OxygenOS) on OnePlus Nord2T5G
What I used before: OnePlus 6
What has happened? Last year, when I received the Nord2T, I used Google's "set up my device" to transfer everything from my OP6 to the Nord 2T, which worked great.
HOWEVER now that I upgraded to Android 13, I have the lockscreen message "Nikhil's OnePlus 6" and I can't find any way to change this message as there isn't a setting for it in Android 13. The Lockscreen seems to pick up on this since the string was probably transferred from the OP6.
Is there a way to delete that string so the lockscreen doesn't have this text? Not only is it stupid saying it is a OnePlus6 when it isnt, my main issue is that it visually overlapps with the fingerprint reader icon.
anything that can be done? Any tool that can let me edit the data?

Same issue. My name and number is written and it overlaps fingerprint sensor. It came from my previous samsung phone i believe.
