Oxygen Android 13 Lockscreen Message can't be edited - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi guys,
My system: Android 13 (OxygenOS) on OnePlus Nord2T5G
What I used before: OnePlus 6
What has happened? Last year, when I received the Nord2T, I used Google's "set up my device" to transfer everything from my OP6 to the Nord 2T, which worked great.
HOWEVER now that I upgraded to Android 13, I have the lockscreen message "Nikhil's OnePlus 6" and I can't find any way to change this message as there isn't a setting for it in Android 13. The Lockscreen seems to pick up on this since the string was probably transferred from the OP6.
Is there a way to delete that string so the lockscreen doesn't have this text? Not only is it stupid saying it is a OnePlus6 when it isnt, my main issue is that it visually overlapps with the fingerprint reader icon.

anything that can be done? Any tool that can let me edit the data?

Hide notification content / message preview on MIUI lockscreen

Hey everyone. A few weeks ago I bought a xiaomi phone (Redmi Note 4) running MIUI 8.1.6.0. One of the first things that I wanted to enable was the hide sensitive notification on lockscreen. What I mean is that when the device is locked you get a notification on the lockscreen and it shows the content of the message. For example If I received a WhatsApp of my dad it would show Whatsapp from dad: Buy bread. What I wanted was to hide that it was my dad and the content, so it would show 1 new whatsapp message. For some reason you can't do this from MIUI settings, but after browsing the deep web I found a way to do this, and MIUI does have this feature but it is hidden. What I found is that If you download the app called Floatify and acces the help section and click on “Disable native android notifications on lockscreen“ it shows a MIUI menu that lets you choose beetween: Show all notification content, Hide sensitive notification content and Don't show notifications at all. This is what I was looking for. This keeps on working when you unistall floatify so it is a miui setting for sure. MY REQUEST IS: Could anyone please create a simple app or shortcut to acces this settings? I think it would be easy cause you would just have to see how floatify does it and copy it. This is a very requested feature on the MIUI forum but xiaomi just tells you to disable notifications themselves, so many people would be grateful. Thanks. Contact: [email protected]
Hello there!
You could try if the desired settings menu is in the list of shortcuts in the QuickShortcutMaker app found here:
>QuickShortcutMaker<
Alternatively you could also try the Hidden Settings app:
>HiddenSettings<
Good luck!

Hey thanks bro it actually works.
How to hide hide contents of locked apps only? There is a guide, http://c.mi.com/thread-170007-1-0.html?mobile=2 although why this option is not present in note 4 MIUI 8.2 I don't understand. Any help?
This is already available on Redmi note 4 (MIUI 8.2.10.0). Have you tried Settings>system & Device>Notification and status bar>App notifications>whatsapp and switch off lock screen notifications. There will be no need to download third party app.
This is a tutorial on how to do that
If anyone is still looking on how to do that, I just did a tutorial step-by-step on how to hide the notification's content. Here's the link en.miui.com/thread-913531-1-1.html

I am using MIUI version 8.5.4.0. To hide sensitive notification,
GoTo Settings -> LockScreen & Password -> Advanced Settings -> On the lock screen, Choose "Hide sensitive notification content"
Unfortunately I guess, this doesn't help in this case: https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-4/help/setting-hide-sensitive-notifications-t3684607

I had completely forgotten about that and since I upgraded it's been bugging me for weeks! Thank you!
Is there a way to show ONLY the sender for whatsapp notifications but not the content, like in the iphone 'hide sensitive info' option ?
The given options here work but I would like to know the sender for all messages to choose if I want to unlock the phone to see the message or not, depending on the sender.
1.Open settings
2.Open app lock
3.Open app lock setting(click on right corner icon)
4.Open hide content option
5. choose the apps
And enjoy

How do I disable the Character Preview in gBoard?

Have been searching around including in the app, got the latest version of the app and I'm on 6.0.1 with my Z3 and I simply can't find that option anymore.
One of my phones broke and I'm using my black Z3 and I noticed that I had that config on but I simply can't find a way to disable the character preview, does anyone knows how?

[Question] - I want to revert to the emoji from Samsung Experience 8.5

so there are a few specific emoji that are dear to me, and I've found that Samsung Experience 9.0 has completely changed a few of the ones I was fond of. How extensive of a process would this be? Would it involve flashing back to the older OS completely? Or is there a leaner solution?
Just looking for any help at all, your time is greatly appreciated. Mods, I apologize if I'm a) in the wrong place and b) formatted the title incorrectly.
Well, as the S9+ shipped with 9.0, getting it to run 8.5 is something that will never happen. I think changing the emoji would be possible with a wings font package.
????
You want to uphold your second amendment right to bear emoji?
It can be done, but you will need to find the emoji font file from experience 8.5
I'm no expert at this, but I HATE the Samsung fonts so I replace them with the EmojiOne emoji's
I believe default its NotoColorEmoji.ttf but Samsung uses SamsungColorEmoji.ttf
Just to be safe I replace both
I rename the emojione ttf to SamsungColorEmoji.ttf & NotoColorEmoji.ttf
I have TWRP installed and root. So I simply replace SamsungColorEmoji.ttf & NotoColorEmoji.ttf in /system/fonts
i want to the same but for other reason. i like the old way icon badges worked (they count unread messages not the number of active notifications).

Display size option

Hi all,
Bought this phone for my spouse today. I had read an article about inclusion of Display size option in ColorOS 6, but don't see this option next to text size. Can someone please guide me if this option is available? If not, any workaround?
Thanks!
Hey all..
Finally, its the software piece. ColorOS version 6.0.1 adds this option, which Realme 3 pro is yet to get.

[Project] Change the fingerprint unlock animation of your Huawei Mate 20 Pro

In earlier EMUI 9.0.0 we had the option to change the fingerprint unlock animation. This option was later removed and hasn't come back.
Inspired by the thread for the Huawei P30 Pro, I investigated whether it was possible to change the lockscreen fingerprint icon of our Huawei Mate 20 Pro.
What works when applying the files provided in the thread:
The lockscreen fingerprint changes - although it's smaller than the default lock screen icon.
What doesn't work when applying a new fingerprint animation:
When you use one of the animations, there are two possible scenarios: Either only the fingerprint icon changes with no change to the animation or the animation changes but is shifted to the left and thus doesn't light up directly over the fingerprint scanner which means that the fingerprint reader won't work. The likely reason for this not working is because the resolution of the P30 Pro is only FHD+ while the resolution of the Mate 20 Pro is QHD+.
What I have tried:
I've tried changing the name of the 'drawable-xxhdpi' to 'drawable-xxxhdpi' - doesn't work.
I extracted the 60 pictures from the OnePlus 6T McLaren Fingerprint GIF animation and renamed them properly as suggested in the guide in the P30 Pro thread, but it doesn't work.
Apparently, only the aod-files that have both 'wave_500x500_01'.jpg AND 'wave_600x600_black50_01'.jpg will actually change the fingerprint animation but the animation seems to be limited to only 12 frames and is - just as with the suggested animations in the thread - shifted to the left which leaves them unusable. Having the files in '.png' format doesn't work.
Any help or suggestions are welcome!
UPDATE:
I successfully managed to change the fingerprint unlock animation to 'Blue Electric'! I downloaded a clean Huawei Mate 20 Pro Theme, moved the com.huawei.aod file into the theme and renamed the 'drawable-xxhdpi' folder to 'drawable-xxxhdpi' and it worked!
I created a guide for the installation
It worked! I sucessfully managed to change the fingerprint unlock animation to 'Blue Electric'!
This looks very promising. Is there a way to change the animation without a theme? In other words I dont currently have any theme installed except the one which comes from Huawei out of the box. Is there a way to change that animation?
