I bought LG Optimus L5 E610 few months but i rooted it just few days ago. After i rooted it i installed ROM Manager and installed CWM but my device was not in the lost so i selected LGE Optimus M+ (idk why). Then a friend of mine told me about the "cool app" Beats Audio Installer and i installed it. After i rebooted the phone the speaker started making crazy sounds. I read in the app's site that i have to install a ROM to restore the original sound driver. I decided to install the stock ROM from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1790342 but when i tried to install it it asked me to boot in recovery mode and i accepted. After it restarted it showed this " Secure booting error! cause: boot certification verify. Now I want to restore it to its original state but i don't know how so please help me fast.
Read this, to install the correct CWM for your phone (you'll have to download the .img yourself):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1827723
Then, boot to recovery & flash your fixes from there.
Alternatively, you can use the KDZ flasher to restore to pure stock.

Try connecting your phone to your computer and using ADB to flash a new recovery to your phone.

Can someone please tell me exactly what I have to do because I've already did enough on my own.
My problem is this:
1.My phone freezes on the LG logo.
2.I cant boot into recovery.

Use this to download your original firmware.
Use this guide to flash it with the KDZ updater.
When it's done, you'll be back to stock ROM, and all your data will be gone. Don't play with your computer or have anything else running, because if your computer freezes during the flash (or you remove your phone's battery) your phone will be hard-bricked.
If you would rather save your data & only flash CWM onto the recovery partition, you need to find & download the .img or .zip file of CWM which was made for your phone, then flash it using Android Flash Recovery.

Build a brick wall with it. It's a brick.
Soft brick means it's recoverable. Hard brick can be sold for parts.

Yes the tool should work even if you can't boot your phone. If you hard bricked your phone you will need to use jtag to unbrick it.

If your phone is only soft bricked LG will easily be able to tell you rooted it and "installed unauthorized software" on your phone and they very likely won't honor your warranty or offer to fix it. JTAG essentially allows you to restore your phone to its original condition if you have a brick or some soft bricks. What they do is they take apart the back of the phone so they can access the JTAG pads, they then solder wires to the JTAG pads. Next when a connection had been established they hook up the wires to a riff box using a ribbon cable, they then attach a cable from the riff box to the computer. From here they use a special program called Riff Box JTAG manager, to resurrect your device (Restore bootloader, etc.). After that they flash the original firmware that came with your device and your phone should work again.
For more information on JTAG check out these links and video.

Word of warning: Technically deliberating bricking your phone and getting an insurance replacement is fraud and is a federal offense. The right thing to do would be to bring it and attempt to explain your situation (Or you could play dumb, and maybe they'll help you again they won't be happy and you could be in trouble if they figure out your lying) there is a possibility they will fix it for a reasonable price. In the end you unfortunately might have to buy a new phone,

Unless you know what your doing you could destroy your phone to the point of it being beyond unbrickable, if LG says they won't repair it for you look online for a local shop in your area that's reputable and knows how to JTAG phones back to life.
Dear xdians,
I am very new to this forum to i apologize if i put this post in the wrong section. I am also very new to android. Its my first android phone
My issue is that I bought a LG phone Optimus LTE2 and I root it. The blunder i made that I removed some system applications.
When I restart phone, it didn't. I tried to enter in recovery mode(power+volume up+home) and download mode(power+volume down+home) but nothing happened. Even it didn't start.
So i searched on korean forums and found a very helpful forum on this particular mobile. From here I downloaded some ROMS and kdz of this mobile.
Now the current situation is that my phone is not powering up by pressing power button.
The problem is that where should i start now? how can it unbrick my phone?. any tools?
Please help me in this as I am very worry about it.

If the doesn't even starts than it's a hardware-brick.-So you can only fix it by going to Service center!
But if it stuck at bootlogo then it's a software brick and that's fixable

Thanks for your reply. It doesn't even start so its hardware brick. Now what service centre is supposed to do?. Jtag to something else? In my region, LG service centre don't support this mobile. So i will go to some local repairing shop.

Ok If you do not know how the best way is to take who knows.
I don't know whether is this a correct forum to post this so please bear with me
I did not root my phone.
My samsung galaxy sIIG was unable to turn on whether on download mode, flash mode or normal mode
so I guess it was a hard brick
connecting it to my pc doesnt work, my pc can't detect it as well
Is there anything I can do to save it? If not, is there any way to extract the internal memory by myself without sending it to samsung service center?

try using a usb jig .. google how u can make it or simply buy one
Jig highly unlikely to work (1/10,000 chance, and I'm being generous), but try one as you have nothing to lose.
You won't be extracting data from the device, nor will a Samsung service centre or mobile repair shop. The only very very slim chance of getting data off the device would be a company that does data recovery from dead HDD's, but that's the same chance as the jig working - in 2.5 yrs here I've never seen anyone post & say they've had this done. And even if it is possible, expect it to be very expensive (as much as the phone costs).
If you didn't back your data up, it's gone.
If you intend to keep the phone, the fix is motherboard replacement.

Well thanks for the answer, its kinda disheartening to be honest... After motherboard replacement is everything would be in factory settings? meaning i couldnt retrieve the data i've lost as well?
Motherboard replacement = exactly that - a new (or 2nd hand) motherboard with a different EMMC on it.
'Factory settings' ? If you have a Samsung service centre put a new motherboard in, I presume they'll put the latest firmware they have on the device as well. If you source a 2nd hand board (or have a local mobile repair shop source one for you) & pay a local mobile repair shop to swap the boards, you could either tell them not to put firmware on it & do it with Odin yourself once it's been repaired, or they may put whatever the latest firmware is on same as a Samsung service centre.
Either way, data is gone.

Sorry guys for spamming this **** now, I do need help, I am doing research already but I bricked my tablet trying to downgrade it. I am running 3.2.4, and I was trying to get 3.1.0 from this guide and I edited my build.prop like he said but I got it bricked when I rebooted it... It turns on when I hold down my power button it turns on, and I can boot into Amazon's default recovery. (the only one I have.) Please help me, I think it bricked because I edited my build.prop file, I can't seem to get ADB access, I am trying to get to it but please help me.
*sigh* maybe this tablet is not for you....
What guide? "this" guide is of no help. Did you even see this guide? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2991015

After so many people reporting about bricking after editing build.prop and not changing permissions , you went ahead and did the same thing! Nice job!
As of for now no solution to unbrick. The only way to unbrick it is to connect it with a fastboot cable, making it to enter a Qualcomm 9008 mode. After this you will need some files (.mbn programmers, WICH ARE NOT AVAIABLE, dont try people have tried and failed) so you can enter Download mode 9006. And then flash every single partition in Linux with dd comand.
I had a Thor in this mode (got it from a friend for free), and couldn't unbrick it, so I went to eBay and bought a Motherboard for $39.
I suggest you do the same...
Good luck

First of all i'm sorry for my English. I'm not an American. My device Kindle hdx7" is bricked long time ago. No adb attach and only grey kindle logo. As you say if i bought a Kindle's Motherboard and replace the part could i fix my device? You have solved the problem? could you adb access? I'm eagerly looking foward to your answer. Thankyou have a nice day
Hi, you need to understand that after a brick the only part of the tablet that is not woking is the Motherboard (just the memory chip to be precise, but it is attached to the motherboard), the other parts of the tablet are perfectly working. So you just replace the Motherboard and you have a brand new tablet, which means you get new cpu , new memory chip, new software ect. Remember that you should find the exact motherboard for your tablet. And you need to be handy opening a device, trust me , its not that easy and you can crack things very easily. If you need to make any questions feel free to PM me, im talking from experience.

I'm a little too late to the party, but you could have just requested a replacement. It would cost them next to nothing to repair it. They might have a jig in place that flashes everything via QPST.

Your dead mainboard would make an excellent guinea pig for developing an unbrick method. I'm sure we can find someone on the forum with the required knowledge and equipment that is willing to help. If you're willing to let it go, of course.
Thankyou for everybody
I will´ing to buy used mother board by ebay but i did not. because just item´s cost $35 but shipping fee $46 by usps. I think total $81 cost not benefit. so after sell my device $45 and buy used one(just one month use) only $140. I´m satisfied with my decision because my break kindle is 7inch wif only 16g storage but new one is lte and 64g wow upgrade my device i´m happy Kindle is not popular in my country so new one is $180~190 lte 64g so i decide this method. um~ add answer above qustion i cant replace my device because i did´nt regi. amazon and i lost my device serial number so amazon says they cant replace my device thankyou every one and one more question? I just use my device? How do i regist used device?

hi guys
my c5 ultra dead after flash with flashtool
it completly flash but it doesnt turned on and i cant flash it again
just show unknown device on device manager
how to unbreak my device??
help me please
Same problem here.
I was looking to use http://spflashtool.com/ but I miss "scatter-loading" file.
Can someone upload his "/proc/mtd" or "/proc/dumchar_info"?
even if you connect it to pc via fastboot nor flashmode and pc doesnt recognize it, boot.img probably damaged and service test point is needed... try charging your phone for 1 day and try agan. if wont turn up so your device is hard bricked.
mine got soft bricked and i couldnt able to flash ftf cause flashtool didnt recognize it, bootloader was unlocked so i couldnt relock. i gave it to service and role played like i dont know what happend there were an update i clicked on it and it wont turned on again or something like that. its been 2 weeks. prob. ill get it in 2 weeks.
I hard bricked my c5 dual using flashtool. I had to take it to sony service center, they didn't asked me many questions. I told them I was trying to update it using pc companion and it just went dead. They fixed the phone in 5 days and returned it. The funny thing is that I had unlocked its bootloader a long time ago so it should've been out of warranty, also, the IMEI numbers have changed and the drm keys and functions have been restored. Can't believe my luck..
good for you m8 today im gonna check if its arrived or not...

So I decided to flash a firmware thru flashtool. After flashing when I'm about to boot up my phone, it doesn't boot up and seems dead. When I connect it to outlet, only red led appears. And I dnt know now how to revive my phone.
