Hello all. I've been trying to flash Helios rom for my s7 edge but I keep failing. First of all, my device is exynos so it should be good to root. However, when I check TWRP page it says ''This device uses dm-verity!
This means that swiping to allow system modifications will prevent you from being able to boot if you are using the stock kernel. In order to bypass dm-verity's boot prevention, you will have to install a kernel that has dm-verity disabled in the fstab.''
I've tried flashing TWRP but failed into a bootloop, flashed a stock rom to recover. The rom needs TWRP to be installed and I just can't get it working. Maybe I'm using a wrong version of TWRP, or doing something wrong? Any help is appreciated, thank you.
Edit - I faced ''recovery is not seandroid enforcing'' on my last try. Been trying different rooting files to find anything works. Couldn't find anything yet.

Hello all,
I followed this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/m4-aqua/general/root-t3421932
And I sucessfully installed TWRP and rooted my phone. Everything worked fine so far, I was able to use root and access the custom recovery all normal.
Now I come across a discrepancy, I wanted to update the new PokeGo app by following this tutorial, to install in a rooted phone: (the new update blocks access to all rooted/jailbroken phones)
http://www.androidpolice.com/2016/09/11/guide-play-pokemon-go-0-37-rooted-android-magisk/
But I found a situation when I want to uninstall root, in SU, I get an error of uninstallation failed... I tried all the options and I can't seem to revert root. Another situation is, when I try to boot up the custom recovery, It gets stuck in the white sony bg logo and it doesn't boot up. I tried to flash recovery img again by flashboot and it didn't work... Now I'm stuck with no recovery or a way to make a backup of everything..
So the question is, and i guess i know the answer already but I will ask anyways, is there any way to unroot this with flashtool? I don't want to lose any of the current phone settings/data, I was maybe thinking I could just reflash the FW with flashtool, but I wouldn't know if i should be ticking all the boxes or just the kernel one for this.
Anyways, any help/ideas are appreciated.
flash the ftf of the build number you were using at the time and then untick flash user data
Install xposed and next install module BSD mod tools to hide root
Flash stock boot.Img, and unroot it with SuperSU
I had successfully rooted my phone last week. But then due to some apps not working with rooted devices I uproot it using superSU. I want to go back everything to factory settings. Currently I am running stock ROM Software version: 5.9.020S (Marshmallow). I would also like to get back to factory recovery and uninstall TWRP. And also I like to lock my Bootloader. I am confused where I can start on this. I am trying to find "stock recovery file .img" but no luck. I can’t find it anywhere on google. I am aware of installing recovery .img using ADB and Fastboot but I just can't find the recovery img file. I hope I made my question clear. It would be great if you guys can help me out on this. Thanks.

:good:
Can't you just install the stock ROM revision that was on your phone originally, and allow TWRP to be overwritten? IIRC, you don't keep root after installing stock, and the recovery reverts as well, unless you tell it not to.
Hey I just picked up this phone and decided I would like to maximize it to its fullest potential, and root it as I have done with previous phones. This ones giving me a hard time, and I just can't seem to find the proper info for it.
I have unlocked the bootloader, flashed TWRP 3.1.1 and want to gain root access. I have followed several guides, used every possible one-click unsuccessfully, and tried installing SuperSU with TWRP. After I reboot, SuperSU is installed. I'll open it up and it tells me the binaries are occupied. I've tried downgrading and updating the binaries but I get errors. (I believe this is because it must be rooted first - of course.)
So I'm stuck unable to get any further. If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate it. Is this phone with this configuration unrootable? There must be a way if I have recovery right?
Asus Zenfone 4 Z01KD/ZE554KL
Android Nougat 7.1.1 - 14.1060.1708.63 (NOT 1708.70)
TWRP 3.1.1 installed
One thing I have not tried is using Magisk. When I try it, it stops because I already patched with SuperSU (even though it failed). I never backed up before I did it with SuperSU I really thought it would work.
I read of people doing it with Magisk after updating to Oreo. I want to give that a try but I can't OTA or flash from TWRP. All attempts result in error 7.
I can't find a stock recovery to flash to do the update either. Is there a way to undo this, OTA and repatch with Magisk? Even if I don't bother updating, I would like to find a stock image to flash so I can try patching with Magisk.
Stock rom recovery.img anywhere? Am I alone?
i dont own this device but i read this and it might apply to you. also did you flash the supersu uninstaller and them try magisk?

hey i have the zenfone 4 ze554kl i updated it to android 9 unlocked the bootloader and got Twrp running but not correctly and i can't root the phone .....
Title.
After playing around with root and some custom ROMs i wanted to return to OOS, I had a few troubles doing that but eventually I succeeded.
I still wanted to have root access though so I tried going to flash TWRP, but was met by the message "serial_mismatch" followed by a system reboot.
This is persistent, regardless off physically trying to boot in to bootloader or through adb.
Fastbootd works, I can flash stuff with success but it seems like it doesn't actually flash since I can't boot into TWRP after flashing it in fastbootd.
I tried mtkclient, both on windows and on livedvd, my device gets found but on windows I get handshake failed until it ultimately reboots and on livedvd it gets stuck on "trying kamakiri2" endlessly.
Also, my safetynet check fails, even though I am on stock everything without root!
Any thoughts on what I can do here?
All help is greatly appreciated.
Hi there, what version of OxygenOS are you currently using?
Currently on 12.1 latest update (DN2013_11_C11). I tried the downgrade packages but as I can't access recovery or fastboot I can't downgrade either.
Please try this method: https://community.oneplus.com/thread/1596759 After downgrade you will have option to relock your phone and safetynet should pass. Let me know if it helped.
Thanks, already tried that but it fails to rollback as well
Good afternoon. I ran into a problem that I can not install magic on the device. This requires installing TWRP, which has not been officially released. There is an article on this forum that you can install TWRP, but if I do this, the phone goes into an endless TWRP download - https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/recovery-bkl-emui-8-x-unofficial -twrp-3-2-1-0-working-recovery-from-view-10.3798751/
Version - 3.2.1-0 does not work. I tried iterating through the versions and found 1 which opens TWRP but it doesn't work properly - https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/root-emui-9-0.3883991/. It doesn't clean up, it doesn't install. Some errors in the logs.
I also tried through this instruction - https://4pda.to/forum/index.php?showtopic=904618&st=6220#entry89786439
Next, I tried to find the firmware for this phone, which is extremely difficult. Android version - 9.1.0.xxx
I need this in order to pull out the boot file from there and patch it through the magic. I found the firmware from Colombia. I'm trying to install via HuUpdater. He tries to install 3.2.1-0 TWRP, which does not work, and install the firmware through it, which also does not work. I installed another TRWP where it runs but nothing works. Through it does not want to be installed. My bootloader is unlocked.
I no longer know how to get root rights.
Several times I was able to get root rights, but I could not do a factory reset and the magic did not work properly. It's critical for me. I need to be able to do a factory reset.
Help me please.
Hi! You tried to get the boot.img from your rom, and patched it with magisk, and flashed it to the phone?

I can't do this because this requires a TRWP which is not in working order.
