Porting the h830 stock camera - LG G5 Questions & Answers

I was wondering if it would be at all possible to port the stock camera app from the H830 for use on AOSP roms, and if so, how would one go about doing so.

Any idea why? Is it a nougat thing? I saw where someone had made a port of the marshmallow version for the G4.

I forget exactly why. If you go into 1 of rom threads and they explain it. Maybe someone here that knows more then me could explain to him?

Yes. Works great.
Post a picture.
This might be a silly question, but it can't flash kernels can it?
It installed and I did a backup which took some time. I've no sources or anything. While it seems to work, I have no idea what else may come with it. But it works.

If this isnt fake than yes it could flash kernels, we don't have kernel source from LG yet though
Although, I'm not flashing this. until one of the people who made root a possibility points us to a recovery I won't be flashing one

Sounds Promising! I'll wait to mess with a while until I see more 985 users report good things. :good:
So I wonder if GooManager with work then

I've flashed a font and made a backup. It works. However, I'd at least wait until a name you know says "yes, this is safe".

From the looks of this, you just followed instructions from this thread here now, even though this appears to have worked, I would not suggest going through with actually flashing anything or making backups.
The reason is partitions are different across some of the G3 devices and it would not be a smart idea to risk flashing something to a wrong partition, especially since there are 16 and 32 gb models.
With that, it looks like there is a bypass on the VZW model which is a good sign for future use.
so bootloader is unlocked??

Yes we can. This is no different than flashing a custom ROM using safestrap on a Samsung product. I don't think you guys realize how big this is. While its not a boot loader unlock, we will be able to flash custom Roms based on factory ROM.
Hoping we get Aosp soon.

Android Lollipop AOSP source is up :)

so finally the aosp source for android lollipop is up at https://android.googlesource.com/
anybody going to compile a rom for our g2?:good:
ps:just asking not demanding

I'm sure a few of the devs will be taking a look at it. Hopefully we won't need new kernel sources or we'll be SOL
Are the factory images up as well? From my understanding we need those as well.
Thanks guys for all the work you do, I will also continue to check for the new Android lollipop for our G2

I would love to see a ROM!
I'm here to help if testing needed or anything else.
Factory image supposed to be up within the week I think, possibly b4 n6 release but not likely
Nothing new.

Maybe you missed a step. Make sure to go in developer settings in rom and turn allow OEM unlocking on. Then go into fastboot mode and run: fastboot OEM unlock.
I fixed it I'm on Resurrection remix I freaking love it do u know a good sound mod to increase the volume

There are also some mods that can be installed as magisk modules like viper4android they you could try. Haven't personally used them with this phone but I used to use viper4android back when I had the g2 and it worked well. Just go into magisk app and go to downloads tab and download and install the viper mod or other audio mods. Nice part is if you don't like them you can just remove the module from the app.

Go for ARISE mod. Charming sound. I just love it. It gives different dimension to the music we listen. Clear, loud and pure sound.
I am using ARISE 3.1 (flashed modular version rather the aroma version). I love it.
