Google Assistant - My Day (UK) - Nexus 6P General

HI, Just recently got google assistant on my Nexus 6P 7.1.2 Beta in the UK but i have been unable to find any mention of this "My Day" Feature or any of the ways detailed within other google assistant overviews on changing news poviders etc...
If anything i appear to have a watered down version of google assistant... but it is definately assistant before you ask...
Anyone else in the UK having a similar experiance??
Cheers
JC

Have you got assistant with language set to English (UK)? From what I've seen its only been enabled for English (US).

Strange goings on...
Well, i did a few weeks ago and posted the result on another thread but reset my phone after a few issues and when i did set it all to UK English so i was back to Google now... Google assistant randomly appeared on Saturday to my joy and I've been playing with it, that's how i discovered the missing parts when i tried to customise it... On the back of the post i put on last night i tried a reset/reboot of my phone and Google now has returned... I have no idea why it appeared in the first place and i did confirm prior to the reset/restart that my language was English UK... Strange goings on... And frustrating...

For the life of me, I still can't get Assistant to enable! What gives?

[Q] Telus: Voice Search not Talking Back for anyone else?

I got the One X+ last night from Telus (in Canada) and the voice search doesn't seem to be talking back regardless of what I change. I've also made sure the volume is up.
I've found that it seems either HTC or Telus has only provided English (Canada) as the only English selection in the devices system language. Could this be the culprit?
Is anyone else having issues with voice search talking back on a Telus HTC One X+?
Edit: Answered my own question. As I suspected, that was the cause of the issue. Gotta love when companies cripple features on phones by changing silly settings. Installed Locale Select (can't post the link, it's called Set Locale and Language in the Play Store) and changed to English (US) and it's working fine now.

[Q] Google search update introduced new bugs?

The recent update to Google search seems to have introduced some new bugs.
My I9300 is set to UK locale, yet after the update, a voice request "what is the weather in Portsmouth" spoke the answer in Fahrenheit and an American female voice instead of the previous Celcius and a UK voice.
I don't seem to be able to change it back again. Annoying!
With "Google Now" enabled, it can get the units correct, but still American voice. Anyway, I tend to keep Google Now switched OFF by default to save battery power.
Any ideas, apart from wait for another update?
go to google now.
menu>settings>google now>weather
choose Celsius.
and menu>settings>voice>language
choose english uk
good luck !
I've done exactly that and I still only get the American voice? Any thoughts?

[Q] [HELP] TTS in Google Now/Voice Search

Hi Everyone.
I'm hoping someone will have a solution for me coz this problem is driving me mad now. Anytime I use Google Now/Voice search, the response is being read out in US English, as opposed to UK English, it used to be in the UK variant but something, somewhere must have changed.
I've resorted to restoring a UK ROM and wiping the device totally, including local storage so it got returned to being a device straight out of the box.
No matter have many settings to do with region that I find and make sure is set to English UK, it always speaks in US. Whats even more frustrating is, it's only this that's doing it, anything else that uses TTS speaks in the correct English, UK.
Any help would be great, even if someone knows what the language data is stored so I can delete it and see if it's then forced to use the UK variant. I've checked all around my actual Google account to see if it's getting a language setting from that, but again, everything is set to UK.

I know some Canadians have had similar troubles in the past with Google Now try switching your language form English Canada to English USA. As this has allowed most people to get Google Now to work as expected.

'Hey Google' activation!

Hey Guys!
I'm having thia weird problem and I don't think or have found any solution for this trouble. It's been around 6 months that Google has pushed the "Hey Google" toggle for smart phones.
Sadly, I haven't received this yet. I'm still on "Ok Google".
It's pretty weird because I have tried everything. I've set the default language to English US. I've tried being on Beta version of the Google app and as of today I've received new voices from Google which I think is the latest feature.
Can someone please help me with this as it sounds so weird to say "Ok Google" and have all the other latest options.
Pour in your suggestions please.
