So I rooted my galaxy s7 Snapdragon Verizon phone
So my problem was It was slow but still usable . The phone was operating half the speed it did when it was factory settings and I unrooted the phone.
So I unrooted the phone and It was still slow and its super annoying.
I tried clearing the cache and factory reset the phone multiple times and it is still slow.
I have looked far and wide and this is my last resort.
How can I return my phone to normal speeds without getting rid of my Verizon stuff and I do not care if I lose my contacts or games or anything else?
This is also preventing me from updating my phone.

Hi just come over from an iphone 4 and loooving the galaxy S2 but im having issues. Im on three uk network and after so long on the phone the data wont work. Even though ut says 2 bars most of the time. It also keeps going from h to 3g quite often which might be doing something to.it?
Any ideas?
Matt
P.s its factory 2.3.3 and have tried resetting the phone to cure the problems with no success
Im not really sure what is going on but my Note II which used to get 25-30mb/s now gets at best about 1.5mb and more like .8 most of the time. To fix the problem I called verizon and swapped a previously working SIM card out of a Galaxy S3 and activated it in the Note II. Interestingly while the activation was happening I got between 4-6mb/s but could still not make calls. After the activation was complete I am back to piss-poor speeds which makes me think my account is being throttled.
I also swapped the SIM back into the Galaxy S3 and test speeds and they were identical to the Note II so I think the phone doesn't matter. Meanwhile, 2 feet to the left my wifes HTC One M8 is getting near 30mb/s download.
Is it the SIM or am I being throttled to death. The phone shows 4G properly and has great signal strength (4-5 bars). I also disassembled the phone and checked the antennas and connections and everything seemed good. Oh and I am totally rooted running SR1 KitKat ROM which is touchwiz stock based and never gave me issues before.
So stuck and unhappy.:crying: Any help is much appreciated.
In case anyone runs into this type of thing. The fix ended up being a total ODIN back to stock/locked 4.12. Then I ran Casual, unlocked everything, and loaded SR1 4.4.2 and after booting everything is perfect. Nice fast speeds again.
According to other posts flashing tons of ROMs, Ie, TW, AOSP, CM, etc can eventually lead to this slow 4G behavior. The fix is Odin back to 4.12 stock and Re-unlock!

I'm new to the S2... my vs980 got crushed and this thing is a learning curve.
It does WIERD ****! Like, it demands I turn on "Data" to send a picture MMS, or recieve a group message , or God Forbid somebody on iphone (which I think sends mms by default) send me MMS.
I mean, it demands mobile data when me Wifi is "ON and STRONG"
Is this a Samsung thing, I verizon thing, a ROM thing, and will rooting it and dropping somethine that's not BROKEN into it help?

My wife's VS985 G3 was getting bogged down and freezing, etc. Decided it was time for a factory reset to try to get a little more mileage out of it. The phone is running the latest stock Marshmallow, non-rooted. Performed the reset and rebooted and got a message that the SIM was not readable. Never had this problem prior to the reset. Shut down, removed SIM, replaced SIM. Same issue. Got a hold of Verizon and they had me reset the network settings and reboot. Started seeing 4G but then lost it again. Verizon said we needed a new SIM. My wife took the phone to a Verizon store and they replaced the SIM but it only worked for a few minutes and then went away again. Later the SIM was working for almost a whole day, but again stopped working.
I saw the thread about some people having this problem and the slip of paper trick, the battery possibly being the culprit, and trying to tighten the screws on the phone body. Haven't tried any of this yet, but I also noticed the for the people that did have this problem it just started happening randomly. I didn't see any mention of the problem occurring immediately following a reset. This makes me think it's a software issue.
We ended up getting a new phone to replace this one so I'm thinking of downgrading this phone, rooting it and trying a custom ROM.....thinking this may over-write whatever software/firmware problem could be causing the issue. Sound like a plan or am I way off base?
After a T-Mobile update to Android 10 One UI 2.0 my phone behaved oddly. It frequently lost data and network connection, whilst playing PUBG froze and restarted itself. I thought maybe it was because I was being a but abusive to the phone but then I realized my phone literally has IMEI status as unknown and now I cant connect to T-Mobile services at all. I got a new SIM card thinking a two year old SIM might be faulty ans the problems persisted. That didnt work so I cleared cache. Then factory resetted. Then cleared cache again and reset again. But to no avail . So now I have made an XDA account because I dont know what to do with my phone. Is it possible to restore my phone's IMEI? If so how?
P.S I did not tinker with this phone in anyway whatsoever like rooting and such.
Thank you XDA community. :highfive:
i think your phone was stolen, or you stole it. if you did not not root/custom rom, sorry but thats the only explanation. cheers
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy S9+ using XDA Labs

Finally my phone could work again
I guess one plus out of this verizon caved and said didnt support my old phone and were sorry about the constant lost of service and technician after spending 1hr trying fix it said he compensate me a full phone
he let me choose between iphone 12 128 but would upgrade 256 or A52G
Choose A52 since i get it faster and since i knew and confirmed this would not count toward my upgrade

So you got your phone to work but then verizon gave you a new phone anyway?
I'm having problems on a verizon mvno, currently have no service. Not sure if it's the phone or them.
