X829 unable to connect data. Freedom mobile Canada - LeEco Le Max 2 Questions & Answers

I got this phone today. I am from Canada and using Freedom mobile. My phone is able to use for voice call but when I try to connect to data ( Internet) it won't work.
Is there any solution?

Check your APN settings, for my carrier I have to change APN TYPE from DATA to DEFAULT for data connection to work.

What ROM are you using? I have no issue on freedom mobile on my x829. (Currently using AOKP but I think I tried with whatever ROM came from the seller as well.)

May I ask where can I find the ROM version? How do I update my ROM?

Make sure you have it in the right sim slot. I was having problems with my phone and I had it in the slot closest to the edge and data didn't work. It wasn't until I found a thread that said sim slot 2 (the one closest to the edge of the phone) does NOT work with data. Try the sim in the first slot, the slot that is on the right, and report back. I am with Bell, so I know it works perfectly fine.

I've tried both slots already and still no luck

Just found out my EUI version is 5.8.016S. I've been trying to update to 019S but unable to find the SYSTEM UPDATE on my phone menu.

IAM from India.x829 vertion.eui5.8.016s.hd call ok but net too slow.im using Jio 4g.any solutions.no updation options.i saw 5.8.019s updation.im tried in recovery mode. But error.pls any solution.screen over saturated

Make sure you have the correct APN setting under carrier info.
Name: can be anything.
APN: internet.freedommobile.ca

As the user above said, you will have to add the APN manually.

I was on 16s, internet was normal, ROM version does not have any issue with internet speed.
for updating to 19s you have to follow the instruction to get twrp and flash 19s

Almost certainly this. My APN's didn't follow the SIM, but I entered them manually and I have data on Freedom now.

[Q] APN missing in MIUI Rom

Hi,
I love the UI in MIUI Rom and I have flashed few MIUI Rom recently but unfortunately for every MIUI rom that I flashed I found out there is no APN setting for my carrier. The APN is just blank. Without the APN, I can't get data line. Can anybody help!
Have you tried manually setting up your APN?
If you don't know how, you can contact your sim's customer service
or say goodbye to MIUI rom.

Thanks for your feedback. Manual setup is ok. I still think it should have configured automatically like other samsung ROM.
Did you ever get your APN's back? I'm having the same problem on any JB ROM I flash.

No service on ParanoidAndroid?

Hello,
I flashed ParanoidAndroid 3.99 RC1 on my SGH-i747 recently. As soon as I flashed it, I was greeted by the words "No Service", which is weird, because I know I have great coverage in my area. Any idea how I can get my coverage back? It seems not to recognize the sim itself...
look in your mobile data settings, maybe you must set internet provider settings by hand.like apn etc.

Hi,
I suggest you do a full wipe in your recovery, reflash the ROM and then wipe cache/ dalvik... see if that helps. If not see if there's a radio you can flash for your device. Finally, see if the ROM was made for your carrier/ region, sometimes that messes it up. Also, try not to post here post in the Q/A of your device or read others comments in the PA thread. There is also a dialer code which involve #*#* that takes you to the testing menu that lets you see the problem but I can't remember it off the top of my head. Hit thanks if I've helped you
:fingers-crossed: for you to solve your problem!

Went back to stock using TOT method, now i can't get 4G/LTE

Hi guys,
I flashed Resurrection Remix and it wouldn't start on the first boot. Restored nandroid and got stuck in bootloop, so I went back to stock using the TOT method (ZV4 then let OTA updates get me to ZVC), and I noticed that on my lock screen, it said LG instead of Sprint, and I noticed I had no data. So I tried the 3 dialer codes: ##UPDATE#, ##SCRTN#, and ##RTN#. After this I can now get 3G and it says Sprint on my lockscreen, but no 4g, In settings/mobile networks/network mode LTE/CDMA is selected. In settings/about phone/network, the mobile network type is either EvDo-rev.A or eHRPD(it goes back and forth). I'm wondering if its an APN setting but I can't find anything on this. Any ideas on how I can get 4G back? Thanks for any ideas.
Did you try a profile update? try running 2 of them, then a PRL update, than another profile update. It's pretty picky. [I mean though the System Update tab]

Tried your suggestion but no change, The first profile update took about a minute, and the others went really quick. Still no LTE.

It was Resurrection Remix 6.0.1 Marshmallow, but it was about a week ago so I'm not sure what version it was, I see it was updated 1/30.
I notice that it has a refresh animation by the signal meter now too. http://i.imgur.com/NqnUNPt.png Thats what made me think it was an APN setting. It does the refresh for about 30 seconds before it can find a signal.

Still no luck. Everything working good with Resurrection Remix except data is 3G and not LTE. I also tried flashing some different modems but that didn't change anything. I am thinking there is a partition that doesn't get wiped out during a TOT flash and something is wrong in that area. I am going to try to mess with APN settings when I get time.

Yes SIM card is in. I went back to stock everything again and the 4G problem remains.

Using the ##RTN# dailer code and entering my MSL/SPC code has always got back to a fully functioning stock bloated device when needed. Best of luck to ya!

Are you using Lineage or Lineage based OS?
Do you see your IMEI when going into about phone and signal status?

I'm having this same issue and it's getting really frustrating to figure out. Only rom data works on for me is stock and I don't wanna be on it. If I find any solution I'll let you know, but for now I'm right there with you with this issue.

I managed to get at least 3G working, and it's on DotOS 3.0. I flashed This APN zip right after flashing the rom, and afterwards I went into Settings -> Network & Internet -> Mobile Network, I turned off Automatically select network and then picked Sprint to register it on the network. Haven't been able to get 4G working but personally I don't mind, 3G's good enough for me.
Try to flash this APN through recovery it works for me on virgin mobile....I also got MMS working with it

NO Sim in stock firmware.

hello, guys, I've switched to stock firmware my moto e2 xt1521 is not able to detect sim, plz help
i cant turn off the radio in *#*#4636#*#*
and there is no "automatic" option in select radio band it only has "set GSM/UMTS"

Edit: one more thing what was I've done is I've cleared the data of "Android System" app in system apps of setting after which solved my overheating and battery draining problem but after that it started showing the sim problem.

Yes I've installed them correctly is there any way to reset the LTE BANDs of device. May be I'm wrong but looks like my device is forcing me to GSM/LTE instead of UMTS

You can use *#*#4636#*#* to change the lte bands, and in setting<network & internet< mobile network< preferred network type you can select the lte bands.
ok guys i've fixed this issue, my sim card is the culprit.
