[Q] APN missing in MIUI Rom - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
I love the UI in MIUI Rom and I have flashed few MIUI Rom recently but unfortunately for every MIUI rom that I flashed I found out there is no APN setting for my carrier. The APN is just blank. Without the APN, I can't get data line. Can anybody help!

Have you tried manually setting up your APN?
If you don't know how, you can contact your sim's customer service
or say goodbye to MIUI rom.

Thanks for your feedback. Manual setup is ok. I still think it should have configured automatically like other samsung ROM.

Did you ever get your APN's back? I'm having the same problem on any JB ROM I flash.

Check your APNs. If they are fine, then re-flash. Faced this issue when I flashed my first ROM.
Reflashed the ROM, Double checked the APN. Even cleared the cache and installed the Void forever rom again. Still i cannot establish connection with the google servers. I just doubt whether this has something to do with the flashing of official gingerbread. Any suggestions. ??

Try to revert to the old baseband and start all over again. Good luck!
I reflashed the old baseband and reflashed a froyo rom Devoid-froyo-final. Now data is not working. Even the browser. I am sure about vodafone settings. What else could be the problem.>>??

Not sure dude. Search the forums if anyone has the same issue.
try a different Sim card. also keep a minimum balance. if balance is zero net will never work, even with data pack active.
also restore the apn to default from menu options.

CM10 MMS (fix no worky)

I just flashed cm-10.1.1-mdm02 onto my phone and I am having the "can't send MMS" issue. I would love to follow the fix supplied in the CyanogenMod 10.1 Official Releases thread, but I do not have the "CDMA subscription" or anything that even says "LTE" in the "preferred network mode. See Attachements Below.
Is this something that has been seen?
... And yes, I went a little overoard with my use of quotes

That does not look like mdm02 (or any of my releases actually). If you came from another cm-based ROM, you may need to wipe /system before flashing. It should look like the attached picture.

kernel 3.0.71 tells me you haven't updated the kernel since the end of March. Extract boot.img from the cm zip and flash it:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
If you're running any modifications to cyanogenmod, they can also mess with the displayed settings. If you have any applications installed that supposedly give you more network options, uninstall them.

Since you have a full backup, the next check would be to wipe /data, /cache, and /system, then install CM and see if the menu options appear like in my screenshot.

I cannot send SMS or MMS messages...
Following instructions in this thread I did a TWRP Recovery/factory reset, flashed and reinstalled md04, it was working for awhile.
Proceeded to install my apps, somewhere along the way SMS died.
Also I now see as one other in this thread; under Settings/More/Mobile Networks - Preferred Network mode is LTE / WCDMA, if that is selected there are no options displayed that include "LTE"

Can you connect to the network? If so, is your CDMA subscription set to RUIM/SIM?
--
also check Radio Information.
1. Go to dialer and enter: *#*#4636#*#*
2. Phone Information
3. Let preferred network type:
4. LTE/CDMA (PRL) (if not set to this, set it to this)

I think this is solved.
Trying different things, found that when the system has a fresh MD04, go to Settings/More/Mobile Networks/Network Mode - changed to "LTE/CDMA/EvDo". Since then it is behaving and SMS is working, Also I checked the Radio info per instructions above, it shows "LTE/CDMA auto (PRL)".
All is good for now. :fingers-crossed:
Thanks again.

Went back to stock using TOT method, now i can't get 4G/LTE

Hi guys,
I flashed Resurrection Remix and it wouldn't start on the first boot. Restored nandroid and got stuck in bootloop, so I went back to stock using the TOT method (ZV4 then let OTA updates get me to ZVC), and I noticed that on my lock screen, it said LG instead of Sprint, and I noticed I had no data. So I tried the 3 dialer codes: ##UPDATE#, ##SCRTN#, and ##RTN#. After this I can now get 3G and it says Sprint on my lockscreen, but no 4g, In settings/mobile networks/network mode LTE/CDMA is selected. In settings/about phone/network, the mobile network type is either EvDo-rev.A or eHRPD(it goes back and forth). I'm wondering if its an APN setting but I can't find anything on this. Any ideas on how I can get 4G back? Thanks for any ideas.
Did you try a profile update? try running 2 of them, then a PRL update, than another profile update. It's pretty picky. [I mean though the System Update tab]

It was Resurrection Remix 6.0.1 Marshmallow, but it was about a week ago so I'm not sure what version it was, I see it was updated 1/30.
I notice that it has a refresh animation by the signal meter now too. http://i.imgur.com/NqnUNPt.png Thats what made me think it was an APN setting. It does the refresh for about 30 seconds before it can find a signal.

Still no luck. Everything working good with Resurrection Remix except data is 3G and not LTE. I also tried flashing some different modems but that didn't change anything. I am thinking there is a partition that doesn't get wiped out during a TOT flash and something is wrong in that area. I am going to try to mess with APN settings when I get time.

I managed to get at least 3G working, and it's on DotOS 3.0. I flashed This APN zip right after flashing the rom, and afterwards I went into Settings -> Network & Internet -> Mobile Network, I turned off Automatically select network and then picked Sprint to register it on the network. Haven't been able to get 4G working but personally I don't mind, 3G's good enough for me.
Try to flash this APN through recovery it works for me on virgin mobile....I also got MMS working with it

For ****s and giggles, I would try another ROM. Better yet, I would restore back to stock and then try another install. That takes more time but will help ensure that you are starting from the most stable platform. If you go this route, remember to not restore stock 11, it will bootloop if you try to install a ton over it.

Does LTE show on stock? From Lineage or CrDroid were you able to find where you add or change the son? From either one, have you tried *#*#4636#*#* from the dial pad? You can change a lot of network specific things from there. You could try changing different band combinations to see if you can get a connection. You can also see what towers you are connecting to.
