CM10 MMS (fix no worky) - Verizon HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE

I just flashed cm-10.1.1-mdm02 onto my phone and I am having the "can't send MMS" issue. I would love to follow the fix supplied in the CyanogenMod 10.1 Official Releases thread, but I do not have the "CDMA subscription" or anything that even says "LTE" in the "preferred network mode. See Attachements Below.
Is this something that has been seen?
... And yes, I went a little overoard with my use of quotes

That does not look like mdm02 (or any of my releases actually). If you came from another cm-based ROM, you may need to wipe /system before flashing. It should look like the attached picture.

Nope, I have ONLY been using your CM roms since you came out with them. I have jumped around releases quite a bit though.

kernel 3.0.71 tells me you haven't updated the kernel since the end of March. Extract boot.img from the cm zip and flash it:
Code:
fastboot flash boot boot.img
If you're running any modifications to cyanogenmod, they can also mess with the displayed settings. If you have any applications installed that supposedly give you more network options, uninstall them.

I just downloaded the mdm03 rom and flashed it as well as the boot.img from that .zip... no change. Am I looking a full wipe on this one?
BTW, thanks for the help on this.

make a full backup
wipe only /system

Since you have a full backup, the next check would be to wipe /data, /cache, and /system, then install CM and see if the menu options appear like in my screenshot.

Will do, I'll do it tomorrow during the day and post up the results.

are you s-on with a locked bootloader?

I did a full wipe and everything is working fine. I love the fact that I can restore app data from titanium backup. I need to be more careful about keeping my boot.img up to date.

I cannot send SMS or MMS messages...
Following instructions in this thread I did a TWRP Recovery/factory reset, flashed and reinstalled md04, it was working for awhile.
Proceeded to install my apps, somewhere along the way SMS died.
Also I now see as one other in this thread; under Settings/More/Mobile Networks - Preferred Network mode is LTE / WCDMA, if that is selected there are no options displayed that include "LTE"

Can you connect to the network? If so, is your CDMA subscription set to RUIM/SIM?
--
also check Radio Information.
1. Go to dialer and enter: *#*#4636#*#*
2. Phone Information
3. Let preferred network type:
4. LTE/CDMA (PRL) (if not set to this, set it to this)

I think this is solved.
Trying different things, found that when the system has a fresh MD04, go to Settings/More/Mobile Networks/Network Mode - changed to "LTE/CDMA/EvDo". Since then it is behaving and SMS is working, Also I checked the Radio info per instructions above, it shows "LTE/CDMA auto (PRL)".
All is good for now. :fingers-crossed:
Thanks again.

[Q] Flashing from Verizon to Cricket

I will say right now, I'm a total noob, and could have possibly picked the WORST device to try flashing from Verizon to Cricket, but I have SCOURED the internet, and the more I read, the more I do with this phone, the more confused I become.
I tried (and failed):
* Loading a custom PRL onto the phone with CDMA Workshop 2.7 (Phone will not load with QRST)
* Changing ANY data in the NAM/CDMA Configuration and have the phone remember
* Seeing if there might be a custom ROM available.
So my question is: WHERE DO I START!?

Since I've had so much free time with my phone, I actually got the thing flashed.
Between QPST and the right PRL, my Incredible 4G LTE is now capable of utilizing my talk and text. The last thing I have to do is program an APN for the phone, so my question has changed now.
After going under Settings -> Mobile Network -> Access Point Names -> Create New APN
I tried creating a new one but the default APN (VZWINTERNET) remains default and I can't seem to add any new APNs on the phone. I already have the settings for making the APN work, but does anyone know a fix for the phone not remembering new APNs?

No, and I figured I would have to. So now I'm working on rooting the phone unless you already know how.
So once I have it rooted, it's as simple as rewriting over the default APN?

So far, just completed this walkthrough: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1986346
Fingers crossed it all works and I can load my custom ROM.
EDIT/UPDATE: So I completed the full bootloader unlock! YAY! Now to try and load the Venom ROM. Ideally, everything will work after loading the new ROM.
So it turns out, I still can't root this phone.... I have unlocked the boot loader, but USB Fastboot doesn't appear.
I'd rather edit the post than make new posts. Fixed the damn thing. I can load TWRP recovery, but now I can't seem to get Viper LTE to load right, it keeps the damn stock ROM. I've tried ROM Manager, and now trying GooManager.
Okay, so I was able to not get the Venom LTE like I thought I wanted, so instead I have Cyanogen 10.1, but the problem is, now I either need to...
A: Get the phone into DIAG mode (AKA ##3424)
B: Program settings for the Cricket network
C: Find a Cricket-specific distro of Cyanogenmod.
So random question time: Does the ROM have to be 100% the device I'm trying to alter? I.e. I cannot use an Incredible 2 ROM on an Incredible 4G LTE?

I don't see an option for DM Command Service, which is what I really need. I need to program my phone with the QPST software like I can with the stock ROM.
Of course, I've already flashed the stock ROM, but when it's obliterated for the NEW ROM, my phone dumps the CDMA settings. Also, where might those be stored? If I do a "dirty flash" to CM10.1, maybe I can keep where I programmed my Mobile Directory Number and all that info?
Also, I've already tried *#*#3424#*#*, *#*#PROGRAM#*#*, *#*#DATA#*#* and nothing seems to go through to get the DM Command Service.

If you had read the first post of CM, you'd realize that you're just supposed to hit back when "SIM Card Added" comes up. I have successfully used QPST on this phone. See post 5 of this thread.
I take it Cricket is a sim-less CDMA carrier? If this is the case, then build.prop probably isn't sufficient. This is then outside of my realm of knowledge.

[Q] Installed Carbon Rom. Can't receive calls or use Internet

Greetings,
This is my first post, so I apologize if it is not in the expected format.
I just rooted and installed the "07/23 nightly" Carbon Rom on my Galaxy Note SGH-I717 (AT&T). It works fine however, there are some problems that appear consistently, no matter how many times I wipe and install the Rom:
1. I can make phone calls but I can't receive them. Incoming calls do not ring but show up in the call log as missed.
2. I can send and receive text messages with no problem.
3. I have no access to the Internet or my AT&T account. If I open the internet browser or anything like Google Play (which I manually installed myself), the app opens then instantly closes.
I tried the following procedures with no luck:
1. Ensured "airplane mode" was off
2. Ensured "data use" was on.
3. Selected AT&T as my network
4. Wiped the caches
5. Rebooted
6. Enabled "Receive incoming calls" on the phone settings menu
7. Disabled "Call blocking" on the phone settings menu
I am guessing I need to "turn something on" or "flip a switch" somewhere but I am a complete noob and not aware of what I need to do to get my AT&T services working properly on my phone. I have scoured the internet but I am too new to know how to properly use Google ( I can't type a search word if I am unaware of its existence).
I tried reading through the forum thread for the Carbon Rom but I found nothing related to my exact problem; and I am too new to be allowed to post over there for help.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and would be paid forward in the future.
Thanks
You didn't flash gapps if you had to manually install the play store.
You don't have Google serVices that's why the store closes when you open it.
Rewipe, flash rom, flash gapps and see what happens then.

Lol the op of carbon is pretty badly assembled... Not very noob friendly.
In the op they link to a goo.im page that tells you at the very bottom you need gapps.
Gapps are Google apps.
Aftermarket 3rd party compiled roms cannot contain Google apps, it's against Google's terms of service.
It may fix your call issue, idk I've never not flashed gapps.

I used TWRP to flash the ROM. Then I used TWRP to flash the gapps file and that didn't work. It replaced the rom with the gapps file and then it told me it had no OS (thank God for backups.) Should I use goomanager to flash the gapps file?
Add I would like to thank all of you for taking the the time to help me with this.
You wiped between rom and gapps... leaving just the gapps where the entire os should be.
The gapps shouldn't wipe anything as it's meant to be an add on flash to a Rom...
You can flash up to 5 zips in one queue.
Wipe
Add Rom zip to queue
Then "select more files"
Add gapps to queue
Swipe to confirm flash.
IN THAT ORDER, the rom will wipe the gapps if you install that after the gapps zip.
First rom then gapps.
Odd

I did this verbatim and when it reboots the phone is stuck with a message that says setup can't continue. I click "OK" and the message returns. And I get the same message every time I click OK until I manually shut the phone off. I have to go back to twrp and install just the rom at this point. I will continue to look for a solution on my own. Thanks for trying.

Can't get phone back to LTE after accidental GSM turn on

I have changed my phone to GSM accidentally and now I cannot get LTE service back.
EclipticRez v9, I used the pull down quick settings to turn on Bluetooth but I missed and I turned on/changed to GSM network. Now I cannot change it back. On the quick settings it only has the option to turn on/off GSM. So I went into the hidden phone settings and tried all the various LTE options, it says I'm on LTE in there, but still can't use my phone. It will say 4Glte at the top of the screen but I have no service. If I reboot it goes to GSM in the hidden phone settings.
I tried to remove the GSM option from the quick settings but coredroid stops when I do that and it doesn't stick.
I tried connecting to wifi and sending a text msg and it fails and I get the following error message:
Please add Service Center number in FDN
Is there any way to fix this without having to reflash the ROM? Or if I reflash, can I somehow just pick the network without losing all my info/settings? Backing everything up now in case I have to reflash.
Hmm... these are build.prop settings... if you have the original rom archive, look for the file /system/build.prop and extract it, using root explorer (or your favorite root file manager) over write the existing /system/build.prop file and reboot. Should be GTG.
Always nandroid first, messing in /system could potentially cause... umm... undesirable side effects.
Thanks!
I def have the ROM. I should have a nand from when I flashed it. I was just hoping there was an easy fix so as not to bother.
Do you know why this would have happened? All I had done was hit the GSM on button by accident.

I reflashed the ROM and all is good. And though I cannot remove the Network Mode from the quick settings, I was able to move it down to the bottom of the list so I won't hit it accidentally again.

I don't know that I had to, but I wiped and reflashed. I always prefer a fresh start if I'm going to do it.

You can try to flash the attached A3UL_1.31.xxx.3_Kernel+wp_mod.zip. It's compiled by me from latest UK kernel sources on htcdev.

What software version is your phone actually running? To find this go into "settings", "about", "software information" and tell me the "software number" and "rom version". As long as these numbers match up with the kernel then then I can add in the wifi drivers that get compiled at the time the kernel is compiled into the zip but this shouldn't really be required and didn't want to put them in wiith out being sure they would match with the rest of your rom.
Also after flashing a kernel sometimes things left over in cache and dalvic cache from running the old kernel causes problems with wifi. To fix this you can try to go into recovery and choose "wipe", "advanced wipe" and check the "cache", and "dalvic cache" boxes then wipe. Also reboot your router.
Can you also check that the kernel flashed properly. Go into "settings", "software information", "more" and tell me what is listed under "kernel version".

In that case the kernel I sent you didn't flash properly as its not a jmz kernel. probably just the modules flashed. I'll test it again here and repost it for you. can tou still check and tell what you sofware number and rom version are? You can find them where I said in the last post.

Ok. I dropped the wrong boot img in the zip. thats the asia kernel. but can you screenshot the page before the one you attached. thats the page that shows your sofware number and rom version. That will tell me the propper boot img to give you.

your acctually currently runing a stock asia rom which I asume you must have flashed my original asia backup at some point but for best compatibility on a uk phone I sugest you flash an eu rom(at least the major version matches what you phone should be running). You can download one here:
https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_C-OhmCtZWAZE9PUlFSdWtWaXc/view?usp=sharing
-first in twrp select wipe and swipe to factory reset(you may get conflicts if you don't)
-flash the the file linked above
-wipe dalvic & cache
-reboot
-setup wifi and google account
-test everything is working ok
-follow instructions on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-610/development/mod-wpmod-disable-write-protection-t3149168 to get root and disable write protection on the system patition
you will then be able to apply fixes and mods to the rom without complicated recovery procedures.(take a full backup before trying modifications so you have a stable point to go back to).

Make sure the correct APN is selected. If yes, look at the values inside of APN and then verify that they are correct. Google Sprint APN settings.

Under "Network and Internet", select "Mobile Network", scroll to the bottom and select "Access Point Names". From there you should be able to see what carrier APN you have selected. If there is none, try pressing the "+" and add your own.

thanks for the quick reply but when I click carrier settings nothing opens
I might reflash without sim card
No APN settings is why you have no data. I would try a reflash.

For ****s and giggles, I would try another ROM. Better yet, I would restore back to stock and then try another install. That takes more time but will help ensure that you are starting from the most stable platform. If you go this route, remember to not restore stock 11, it will bootloop if you try to install a ton over it.

Nothing to do with Gapps, this is a radio issue. Something didn't install correctly.
Here is a great guide to make sure you get Android 10 and not 11; https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/how-to-downgrade-android-11-to-10.4283809/

ok I compared the highlighted firmware from lolinet.com and the actual LMSA firmware (downloaded automatically) they look the same, also I see Fastboot_Mot_V1 not sure what's that for
my question is should I flash the LMSA firmware (downloaded automatically) with Fastboot_Mot_V1 or should I replace it with lolinets firmware? Just making sure

Does LTE show on stock? From Lineage or CrDroid were you able to find where you add or change the son? From either one, have you tried *#*#4636#*#* from the dial pad? You can change a lot of network specific things from there. You could try changing different band combinations to see if you can get a connection. You can also see what towers you are connecting to.
