I was watching a youtube video when the video suddenly gave me a "Playback ID error". Then I noticed that my phone couldn't play any audio at all: no music, no video, no calls, no audio notes, nothing! So you could think: maybe it is your speakers. No, same problem through earphones.
Already tried to reboot, do a factory reset, reinstall my custom ROM. No results. Can't tell if its a software or a hardware issue anymore.
Also I can't record audio through any apps.
Obs.: everytime I reboot since the problem started it takes a long long time.
Phone: MOTO G4 PLUS
ROM: Invicta Lineage OS 14.1
Please guys give me some help. A phone is useless if it doesn't do what it was made for.

Hello to all community... I encountered a problem with my phone.. 1 month ago i hard bricked my galaxy it was ok before the brick... i took it to assistance.. they told me that they changed all entire motherboard of the phone... today it returned home but.. i can't hear notification neither other audio playback such as music player that crashes and also video recording/playing crashes too.. i tested the speaker it works during calls while speaking.. but it doesn't rings.. i think it is a hw decoding problem.. the phone returned with the stock 2.3.6 android firmware. I tryied to flash different roms like stock ics and cm9 but they still have the same problem.. i also noticed that the phone is very laggy and slow.. sometimes it freezes for a few seconds.. i didn't tryied miui yet.. i also tryied flashing different kernels from check rom hd v6 without solving the problem... do i need to call assistance again? when i try to playback an audio or video file they freezes or returns me an error depends on application.. in mx video player by selecting sw decoder i can see video but cannot hear audio.. what do you think?
Sorry, but I can't even pick out a question in all this other than "what do you think". This is written in such a fashion that it ended up being incomprehensible to me.
If you are having issues, try a factory reset. If that doesn't help, flash back to a stock non-ICS firmware.
my problem is allways the same.. i can't hear notifications on every rom.. stock or not.. every multimedia player gives me an error or freezes while trying to play an audio file or a video..
does audio work with headphones and maybe try flashing voodoo.
no i can't hear nothing also with headphones.. what is voodoo?
EDIT: with headphones it's the same problem.. the phone doesn't notify me that headphones are connected.. i think he doesn't recognize them
REEDIT: why would i flash voodoo if i have a yamaha chip?
have you tried 3rd party audio apps
obviously.. i wrote it before.. they crash or freeze
However i took it to assistance again and they weren't able to solve the problem... they changed my main board again...

I have a completely stock AT&T Galaxy Note and it's doing a strange thing where it has no audio. I can't get sound at all from most of it, headphones, speakers, nothing. On bluetooth it works, though. If I try to play any audio files, youtube videos, or anything with audio it won't play it. Google Music errors out, saying I can't play the file, Youtube locks up, and anything else requiring audio just hangs as well. When I'm on bluetooth it works but is still unstable. It's like the sound driver is all messed up. I don't know if it's hardware, since when I attempt to play, it isn't just playing silently, it won't even attempt to play. It happened on 4.0.4, and I just updated it ot 4.1.2, and it persists.
Strange right? I've heard mention that a kernel can fix it, but I'm not sure where to begin.

If you are stock, and have made no modifications, try a hard reset and reinstall your programs one by one and check the audio after each program install. Maybe a program you installed is causing your issues.
Good luck.

Every after a hard reset the problem persists. I flashed CM10.1 and it happens there too.
I recently flash my galaxy note 3(hlte) with CM. I've done this on my friend gn3(hlte) without any issue. But now, I found my phone isn't making any sound, for example, no ringtone, no tap sound, nothing. I also found that I can't play any kind of media like Music, Soundcloud, Youtube. I try to make any sound from the phone like download Speaker test app but the app just crash. I also can't make a phone call or receiving any call, it just crash.
Can someone help me with that? PLZ?
Hello guys,
My Redmi 3S shows unusual behavior. After rebooting, the phone will work perfectly until it goes into screen lock. About 10 minutes later when trying to unlock the screen it will take more time to lights up about 3 sec. And then starts the unusual behavior such as audio not working, videos working slowly without any sounds. It happens on browser, inbuilt apps and downloaded apps too. Phone (call) app also not working properly i.e. no sound for incoming calls, cannot connecting out going calls, and when attending income calls can't here any sounds!!! My phone was on miui 10 developer version. I have changed it recently to Lineage 15.1 because of the aforementioned issues. The sad thing is the issues are still there. Could somebody help me?
Note: when these issues arise i use force stop ( music apps, or any apps that plays audio or video) and then restart the phone then it starts to work well until open an app that play audio or video (such as music or video playback apps or apps that use text--to-speech)
Hi everyone, I've just bought a preowned Nexus 9 LTE perfectly working but a couple of days ago audio stopped working both on speakers and headphone jack.
YouTube is showing message saying "There was a problem while playing, playback id XXXXXXXXXXXXX, tap to retry" both using the app or the browser, videos only start when browsing in incognito mode but without audio. Netflix has the same behaviour as YouTube (the error is 'there is a problem playing the video.please try again (5.0)'
Cleaning the apps' cache or wiping the cache partition via recovery didn't work.
Now it comes to the even weirder thing, as i connected my bluetooth headphones everything magically worked fine.
Device has unlocked bootloader, TWRP and latest stock ROM.
------------------------ Edit ---------------------------
I tried flashing LineageOS 15.1 + Opengapps micro, videos on YouTube start now but still i get no audio from speakers or wired headphones. Netflix still can't can't play movies, error is the same as above.
On LineageOS i get an error at startup saying 'AudioFX has stopped' then i decided to install Viper4AndroidFX via Magisk, the app crash after cuople of seconds i open it!
Has anyone experienced the same or has any clue what's going on? Do you think is it an hardware issue? Any suggestion is appreciated and if further information is needed it will be provided
The ROM i tried (and i suggest since it runs very smoothly) can be found here:
