I have the standard FPC fingerprint scanner and its a Redmi Note 3 Kate model.
Lately I have noticed that the vibration randomly happens as if it detected a fingerprint at the back even when nothing is touching it. Its not that frequent but once or twice a day.
Another thing seems to be that when phone is not touched in a while (Deep sleep) fingerprint will sometimes not work until you push power button.
Is anyone having same issues?

hi,
i'm having redmi note 4x sd version (miui 8.5.4.0 stable rom) .but i noticed that fingerprint scanner took some to inialize after locked and applock.after screen locked sensor not working and after 2-5 seconds it's working and the same to applock.in my previous honor 5c device i can touch and hold before open app after app opened it will search fingerprint and working.anyone tell me why?
I am experiencing lately an odd bug.
If I leave my s9 plus for some time without messing with it, the fingerprint scanner is not responding. Ofcourse I can just press the power button to open the screen and then the fingerprint scanner works great as it should. I can try to unlock the phone many times after that, and it will work as it should.
This only happens once if I leave the phone idle for a long time.
Anyone else with the same issue? Is there any possibility that the fingerprint scanner is getting into sleep mode...?
Yes i'm having this problem with lg v30 Havoc rom.. fingerprint stop working after idle..
I've read several old posts saying it can't be done, but if memory serves MIUI 10 on my Mi Mix 3 didn't fire the vibrate mechanism when I used fingerprint unlock.
I'm now on Lineage 16 and the vibrate motor is triggered when I use the fingerprint sensor.
Having said that, I'd still rather be on Lineage than MIUI.
I recently upgraded from 9.0.0.179 to 9.1.0.210, and now my fingerprint reader almost never wakes up and unlocks the phone instantaneously like it used to. If the phone has been in sleep for atleast a couple hours, it doesn't work. I have to first turn on the screen with the hardware buttons. If the phone was recently used, just putting my finger/thumb on the reader can wake and unlock the phone, but it takes 4-5 seconds of pressing the print on the reader to have the screen turn on. The screen only instantaneously wakes up and unlocks if the phone was used in the past few minutes.
Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it?
Just an update in case anyone else experiences this in the future: I have found that if I tap the fingerprint scanner a few times, it will wake up the phone faster and even if in deep sleep.
I have my Redmi Note 5 configured to awaken to home screen from standby using the fingerprint scanner but if I leave my phone in standby for a couple of days or so and go to use the fingerprint scanner to unlock to my home screen, I get the password prompt instead and have to unlock that way. Is this a common issue and is there a fix? I'm still using MIUI 10.3.2 because the latest versions run slightly sluggishly compared to earlier.
After 72 hours miui ask for the pin
