Checking on the official ROM download page 8.1.x has never been released for both versions of Mi5s.
Is it some kind of nightly ROM?
Or a fake one?
Can you post a screenshot of "About phone"?

Sorry, I thought that was the Mi5s forum...following to many stuff.
Anyway you are using the latest Global Stable, that's why you are not getting 8.2, because it doesn't exist yet.

Till now only china stable 8.2 has been rolled out Global stable has not been rolled out yet
It will take maybe 3 to 4 days

Ya you can do not worry they updated their stable rom so u can downgrade but remember downgrade to latest stable rom

There is no risk of getting hard brick . Mi updated Thier stable roms so that support roll back . I personally downgraded to miui 9 by twrp without any problem , but miui 10 is much better .Donot flash too old global stable roms it may result in hard brick .

MIUI has two versions of ROMs. First one is " Chinese" which is meant for the China where Google services are barred. Other one is GLOBAL which is meant for rest of the world including India. There is no "Indian" version of ROM. Global ROM = India (Enter your country here if you are not from China) ROM
