Hi,
I've updated my RM3 Pro [Kate] to latest MIUI 8 Global Beta - 7.4.6
And I have a couple of issues:
First and foremost - when I set my own lockscreen wallpaper it stays like that for a few hours [around 1-5], then reverts to those dynamic changing wallpapers. At first I thought that there might be some issue with my SD card, so I moved the file to internal memory - this gives the same effect. Then I tried factory reset, still didn't help. Home screen wallpaper is unaffected by that.
Other thing is that now LED notification is not working for apps like Messenger, Snapchat or Instagram, only for text messages and missed calls.
Phone is unlocked and rooted aswell.
Any ideas how to deal with that? I didn't have that problem with 6.10.13, but I don't really want to revert, because that newer versions seems faster and lighter on RAM somehow.

Thought I would start this thread for those who have had problems after the latest upgrade.
I had to do a full wipe and thought that had fixed my problems. Then they returned.
I finally decided to try a different launcher.
I was using Launcher pro and was getting sluggish response and lots of force closes. My battery was weird and not charging right, Battery drained after leaving it on Lock-screen. it was not responding after trying to unlock it and forcing me to reboot. All kinds of issues.
I changed to ADW.Launcher and it works much better. Everything i described went away.. odd huh...
I am not sure what the issue was, but I was using the Facebook widget, Beautiful Home Weather, and the Calender Widget in Launcher Pro. No idea if this was my problem...
Anyone else have any nice workarounds? Similar issues?

Odd
My results were kinda opposite after the upgrade (Full Wipe Also). Prior to the .71 udpate I was using GoLauncher (Great Launcher by the way) to increase performance. After the .71 update I've found that ADW, Launcher Pro and GoLauncher slow down the OS and rotation quite a bit.....
i've been using Zeam Launcher since update and i'm definitely in love with it. Very fast and stable and definitely very minimalistic the way i like.
Launcher pro Options
I actually went back to launcher Pro because I doscovered a few options that completely changed my overall experience. I used Zeam as well, but after finding out these options in Launcher Pro it is now snappier than when I tried out Zeam. Let me explain a few things that might bring you running back to my new experience and rediscovery of my Archos.
First of all I am running 7 Widgets on my front page (Pandora, Deezer, Beautiful Home Weather, TV Switch widget, CPU monitor, Google Search (Non Voice), and the default Music Widget) I also have the Wifi, BT, and Accelrometer On/Off widget from beautiful as well. So, needless to say, I was having issue loading this Home page with any launcher.
At first I had my screen doing 8x8, I switched to a 6x6 and saw some results, but not enough. then I did the following, and each step got faster and snappier.
Launcher Pro --> Preferences
general Settings:
1. Keep in memory - Check this!
2. Enable Scroll Widgets - Check This if you use them (and I do i.e. Facebook and People widget and calender widget with launcher pro)
3. Motorola Droid Hack - I have seen no difference either way with this.
Home Screen Settings:
1. Enable Virtual Looping - Love this CHECK!
2. Number of columns - I chose 6 (was having issues with 8)
3. Number of Rows - I Chose 6 (issues with 8 again)
4. Auto-fit item - Check this or it will look wierd when you change landscap/Portrait
Dock Settings:
Purely up to you
behavoir:
1. Auto Rotation - It will be easier if you didn't do this, but I just check this and use the widget to prevent it from flipping when i dont want it (i.e. when you showing someone how cool your archos is)
Apperance:
Up to You
Advanced Settings (Important):
MEMORY USAGE SETTINGS (this is the one I never looked at and am glad i did)
1. I set the preset to "HIGH" this seemed to not affect my memory or anything bad, but changed in speed is noticable)
2. Use Home screen chaches - YES!
3. Home screen Cache type - NORMAL!
4. Builds cache as needed - I chose NO on this, I would rather it keep my homescreen in memory so it doesnt have to build it each time I go through it
5. Clear cache on exit - NO, this Archos is powerful and has room to keep your homescreen in memory, I have had no memory issues as of yet.
6. Pervent Force Closes - YES! (Why the F not)
Advanced (The rest of the settings)
1. i would uncheck "High Quality Scrolling" it reduces performance
2. Same with 3D drawer, Uncheck this if you want, I hardly even scroll though my apps cause the screen is so big..
I hope this help you or anyone who needed some clarification on these things.
After changing my setting to reflect this, I have no more crazy issues with the Archos 101, and after they get the new updates out, i might even be able to scale back these setting. I am now having better experience than I did even using Zeam!!!
thanks,
JW
I managed to glitch the live wallpaper setting and got it to work on Forth Bar Sense (FBS), then I choose a GO Theme (not the locker but system theme) and live wall was replaced by the theme background and it became impossible to bring back the live wallpaper.
The way I glitched the live wallpaper was to have the live wallpaper set on a ROM that supported it and then installed FBS and the live wallpaper remained, however, it does not mean you can change the live wall paper it just meant it existed. I had "wallpaper slide show" as the live wallpaper so there was no need to ever change it.
Now trying the glitch again does not work, since FBS was already previously installed it grabs all the settings from the previous installation it is like the settings from FBS were stored somewhere and they are applied automatically even with a fresh install.
Random ring tones and notifications has been a problem --- 10 apps all failures --- they only ever seemed to worked on CM7, not even stock ICS do the random tones work (talking about different phones here). Why can't Android just have this built into their code it would take all but 30secs to do... Can anyone truly get random tones working for the Amaze 4G with FBS?
hi,
homescreen changes discarded after cm update:
i cannot even remember when this happened, but it could be 1-2 months ago. All changes applied to my homescreen - icons placed there - are gone after every cm nightly update. I even tried boot recovery, delete dalvik etc. but no use. is this a cm or trebuchet issue?
inverted rendering browser:
this function does not work on my S2 no matter what i do. is this a known issue?
thnx
aeryn
I am using Poco Launcher and installed Pixel icon pack. However after some time, some icons revert back to the default Poco icons while the rest stayed as it is. Why is this so?
I'm having the same issue. Mostly happens with the facebook & messenger app icons.
Same exact problem, Facebook, Messenger and Google Podcasts
It seems it has something to do with the recent release of miui 10 . .
Same thing happens with themes. If you apply a non pre-installed theme. After some time it reverts back to stock
Is there any icon pack confirmed to work fine with poco launcher? i tried borealis and h20 , they all have some icons reverting to default
Got the same issue. Tried it with H20 and Viral and it seems to be happening solely with the Facebook and Messenger icon.
Has anyone found a fix yet?
Got the exact same issue. Anyone else?
It's not just Facebook and messenger, I've noticed Google play store reverted back to original as well.
annoyingly, over time they all revert back to stock.
I'm having the exact same issue with pixelful icon pack, but I've noticed that the gallery icon also changes back to stock sometimes, it also happened with the play store once.
i have same thing with icons and themes , all back to classic , even the poco theme
looks like im not the only one here hahaha have the same problem too
This seems to happen when an app updates from play store. Bug in the launcher.
Poco Launcher was updated recently to version 2.6.3.7.
This bug should be fixed.
Hi guys,
First post here so please be gentle with me.
After having a Samsung S7 Edge for quite some time, i took the dive to purchase the Mate 20 Pro (8GB/256Gb model with 256gb NM card) as a replacement which i am very happy with. I did not like the default interface Huawei has put in the phone and so installed the Smart Launcher 5... an app which i had on my Samsung.
All is well and fine up until recently when my clock widget on the home screen no longer updates.. or when it does, requires opening/closing apps and multiple screen wipes before it updates. Pictures below.

I've retried reinstalling the Launcher, rebooting the device, restoring launcher from backup, changing the clock widget to another application, removing and readding the clock widget.
Not a major problem, more of an annoyance. Is this a problem with the app itself or an issue with the patch update? Currently running EMUI 9.0.0.171 (C636E10R3P2)
Thanks

Happens to me sometimes, I think its more to do with battery saving. When the phone is running low on battery it aggressively shuts off background processes, and I believe it closes the process that updates the widget or something similar. It rarely happens to me though, I made sure the widgets are allowed to run in the background. But every now again it does re-appear, mostly like I said when the battery level is low.
I am using Nova Launcher and the Transparent clock weather widget.
