Nougat contact fields - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I searched the forum & google and was not able to find an answer, sorry if I missed it !
I tested Nougat ROMs on different devices (Redmi Note 3 pro SE & Vernee Apollo Lite), MAD Roms, Resurrection Remix, Lineage OS...
On Android Marshmallow although having a google account set on the phone, I was able to create contacts "local on the phone", not to the google account.
On those contacts, I was able to add a mobile # as well as a "professional mobile" #.
I was not sync'ing the contacts with the google account.
When moving to Nougat:
If I import contacts (from .vcf MM backup) before adding a google account, the contacts are local to the phone, and there are mobile & mobile pro fields. I can create new contacts local to the phone with both mobile & mobile pro fields.
if I import contacts (from same .vcf as above) after adding a google account, the contacts are on the google account, and the mobile pro fields are changed to mobile.
I can only create new contacts on the google account, not local to the phone, and there is no mobile pro field.
This loss of information (mobile pro field) prevents me from moving to Nougat.
I also looked at the contacts on the google account (on a brower on a computer), and I don't see any mobile pro field.
Is there an explanation to this regression ? Is there a fix or a way to workaround it ?
Thanks for your help !

[Q] android calendar on latest Cyanogen Roms?

Hello! I'm a new Android user but I don't want to share my personal data with google. Is it a way to run android calendar instead of Google calendar on a 2.3.7 CyanogenMod Rom?
I've downloaded several other calendar apps (Jorte, Calendroid, FliqAgenda, GeminiCalendar, BusinessCalendar) but none could help me to store my appointments on a local database that I could retrieve with MyPhoneExplorer.
Any clue?
Nobody can help?
Export data from your google acc, and import to my phone explorer.
Sent using Tt.
Thanks for your reply. But I don't understand how this can solve my problem.
It seems there is no android calendar provider on CM ROMs, only Google one. When entering a new appointment I only have the choice between Exchange and Google. My data are already in the PC and managed by MyPhoneExplorer. I've erased all the data from my Google account I don't want to register to Google to be able to use my phone, I don't have to. I refuse their privacy policy.
On LG genuine ROMS we had android Mail and GMail, android Calendar and Google Calendar we could live without a Google account, the same on derivated ROMs like EleganceSwift 5.0 if I remember.
Hm, sorry for misanderstending.
Sent using Tt.
You can try the calendar app from miui rom.,...looking for a solution myself.my tablet is aosp so the options are limited to Google or exchange whereas my phone I could just sync using outlook

Help with Moving Contacts from Phone to Google / Hotmail / Somewhere Safe?

Hi
I have recently found that when I do a clean install of a ROM with a full wipe any contacts I created on the Phone are lost. I had thought they were backed up by Google / Samsung but it doesn't seem to be ATM. This also affects my daughters phone.
So does anyone have information / ideas that would help me move / transfer all the contacts that are just on the phone to somewhere like Google or Hotmail etc. where they will be safe. My daughter has hundreds and I recently lost a similar amount. Once I know where its easy to transfer contacts too, then I will create all my new contacts in that place as well.
Thanks in advance for any experience / suggestions.
Cheers

Easiest option, I find, is to use just Google Contacts. You can export your SIM's contacts and import them on your phone into your Google account. After that the phone will sync the contacts automatically to the contact book in your online Google account. You could also e.g. create contacts in your online Google account and they will be synced to your phone and multiple devices. Link to Google Contacts
Thanks - My Contacts are now Synced to Google and Hotmail

Thanks so much. It worked better than I hoped. Once I imported my Contacts into Google - within a couple of minutes the phone showed all the Google contacts linked to / replacing (not clear to me) the ones in the phone. I think they are automatically linked by the phone in that when I deleted some in Google they stayed in the phone, but when I add to Google they appear as Google only in the phone. If I delete linked from the phone then it deletes Google as well..
For anyone finding this later I found this link; http://www.liveside.net/2012/02/26/google-is-now-a-connected-service-to-windows-live/ which explains that if you have a Windows Live Account (Hotmail, com, Live.com, Outlook.com etc) Windows Live will lookup all your Google Contacts too if you set it up. So good!!! This is just new this year. Works well too. Again best driven by the Phone Contacts which if I change or delete updates both..

Store to Google Contacts Not Available

The option to save a contact to Gmail/Google Contacts is not available on the People/Contact app on the phone.

Google Contacts also does not show up in the phone. I do have a Google Account added. The sync appears to complete successfully and contacts are in "My Contacts" on Google Contact/Gmail. I do have "Show All Contacts" selected in the People/Contact app but only sim contacts are shown there.

If I tap on “Add new account” in “Store Contact to”, I believe it brings up the add exchange account, which doesn’t work anyways.

I have tried to remove - re add the google contact and factory reset the phone several times with no luck. Also tried adding another google account and it acted same for it. Note that the phone does not present any setup wizard after a factory reset. I have to go to settings to add the google account manually.
Here is my phone info:
Android 4.4.2
Brand: Walton
Model: Primo EF2
(It's a local brand in Bangladesh. They basically re-brand sets from Chaina)

How can I fix the issue and properly sync the contacts with google contact? Thanks in advance.

No more Google contacts

Hello,
I have a p30 (stock, since I can't unlock the bootloader...)
It's the second time all Google services are blocked: chrome, YouTube /Vanced, Gmail, play store, etc. I solved it by trying a few different methods, though I'm not sure which finally worked: deactivating Google play services, rebooting the phone, deleting my Google account...
Everything went back to normal the first time, but since the second one I can't seem to get my Google contacts.
- In display settings of the contacts app, I can choose between the contacts sim, Huawei, signal, messenger and others but no Google here.
- When I want to create a new contact I can choose sim or Huawei, no Google.
- In contacts settings - > other accounts, I can see the Google account but can't synchronize it.
- In general settings I checked that contacts are synchronized.
Could it have anything to do with the Google ban of Huawei devices, despite it's not supposed to happen for the p30? I'm interested in any input!
You can try vmos pro and load your google contacts in vmos after export to device storage
