<Solved> Swift2+ Nougat v7.1.1 WiFi issue - Wileyfox Swift 2 Questions & Answers

<Solved> Swift2+ Nougat v7.1.1 WiFi issue
I have a Swift2+ (unmodified) which worked fine under Marmite.
The OTA upgrade to Nougat v7.1.1 seemed to go smoothly, apart from a slight issue recognising the SIM and the SDCard which some fiddling around and a couple of restarts seem to have sorted.
However......The phone is unable to connect to the Internet via WiFi - checked network settings, changed to static address, restarted again - still doesn't work.
Using the Fing app reveals all the other active devices on the local network so the WiFi is connecting.
Looking on the router I can see the phone as a connected device. But the phone insists there is no Internet connectivity.
All the other devices, including various mobile phones, all work just fine.
Moving the Swift2+ away from WiFi range it switches to the 3G network and then insists there is no Internet connection via the GPRS channel. Moving to a friends house gives the same issue with the WiFi at that location.
So the problem is with the phone not the WiFi network.
Any suggestions ?

I've no problems with WiFi, try to wipe data (factory reset) and if it doesn't help contact WileyFox support...

Problem sorted - it was a bad DNS entry on the phone, for some reason stayed the same on static and DHCP until I edited it.
Now all ok.

[Q] Home wifi suddenly not working right with archos 70

I have recently returned to my apartment with my brand new archos 70. I use WPA2-PSK encryption for my wifi network. at first everything was golden, I could browse the web and whatnot just fine. as of a few days ago, wifi has not been working correctly. my device connects to the network (pulls an ip address from the router) but when I try to browse web pages or open web based apps they hang up and act as if I have no connection. it works fine on other networks (to limit the problem to my network) I have tried doing a factory reset of the device, tried power cycling my router and modem with no luck. I have also changed encryption types to no avail. i have the latest firmware for the gen 8 series. also from time to time during this session of events, sometimes it will connect to the router, then disconnect and reconnect. I have no clue whats going on because I havent changed any router settings since I got back. the only other devices on my wifi network are two laptops. any help would be appreciated.
you mean you restored to the factory settings ran through the start up all over again and it still won't connect to your router? have you tried any other types of connections or routers?
I had this problem just the other night was this close to reformatting the whole thing. but I solve the problem by turning the device off, then holding the reset button while it rebooted to turn it off again, an reinitializing the drivers.
how do you reinitialize the drivers? I did a factory wipe. and it connects, it shows as having network connectivity (even my router lists it as a dhcp client and currently making use of the access point) but no internet functions work. ive connected to other networks fine.
This happened to me when I first got my A70. What I had to do to fix it (after getting incredibly pissed, reformatting twice, and almost returning the thing) was to set it up to use a static IP address on my home wifi network. Don't know if it'll solve your problem, but it works beautifully for me and I'm able to enjoy the device now.
Just remember to uncheck "use static IP address" when you get on other wifi networks.
well, I set up static addressing, gave it a private ip, set up the gateway and dns, and it still wont connect to anything.
If set as wireless N, set as N+G or G only, latest firmware may have trouble connecting to wireless N networks.
na, I dont have it set to n, I have it set to auto which I believe puts it to g with my archos. thing is, it used to work. now it suddenly has problems.
Im beginning to wonder if the archos tablets are just picky about wireless routers. I wouldnt think so...
Upgrade the firmware
Archos published a firmware upgrade to solve this problem (December 2010). The related bug in the release notes is...
Wi-Fi: fix Wi-Fi stuck after a while when using WPA2/AES encryption mode
The new firmware download link is in the Archos website.
you can download the firmware to your computer, copy it to the root directory of the tablet using the USB cable, and run the upgrade process in the tablet.
... or you can use another WiFi network (without WPA2/AES) and download the update in the same tablet
Note: I cannot send the links, however you can use the information to search the links in the internet.

[Q] Help problem with Wifi conects but no Internet

OK so I have T mobile version Galaxy S 3 phone is rooted (stock ROM)
WiFi was working properly except that sometimes when I had few devices connected to my router it didn't want to connect , but I have always experienced that problem with android on my HTC Evo and My touch 4g, it seems that when you connect to a router and disconnect and another device connects the phone tries to connect using the old IP which is now used by the other device.
its annoying but biggest problem now with the S 3 is that 2 days ago the phone will connect to the router at least it shows the WiFi icon on the status bar and on the wireless and network info ( connected ) but once I try to open a web page or app like Facebook it will show no connection, Kies air doesn't even recognize that there is a WiFi connection.
I have tried looking around on this forum and on google and have seen other people with same problem but no solution at all.
any ideas anyone?
I have tried forgetting the connection, restarting phone router, modem.
and other devices including my old phones work.
If your getting the same problem with different phones then the problem must be with your router. It seem that it only allows a certain number of devices to connect to it.
No, other devices and phones are working properly, problem is only on the SG3 100% sure not router problem at all , I am thinking something about the WiFi info on the phone got corrupted or something I guess I will try factory reset and wipe everything.
Well for future references, I had to do a full wipe ( data, dalvik, cache) and its working now as intended.
anyone experiencing this problem with galaxy s3 wifi connection after I reset my device it started working again but now after a few days the issue is back, have Wifi ICon on status bar but no connection to the internet at all, this is only happening with the S3 , evo 4g , mytouch 4g, laptop and desktop work without any problems.
Ok finally found the solution without the need of resetting the device. had to use static ip on my phone...
long click network connection , modify network config, show advance options, "ip settings = static" assign an ip and if u need help finding other info as gateway, dns servers etc..
on windows run "cmd" and ipconfig /all

Problems connecting to some wifi networks (GT-i9100M)

Hey all,
I've had my Galaxy S II GT-i9100M for a bit more than two months now. It's been on ICS 4.0.3 since the first day I got it, and is unrooted.
Wifi was working fine the first month or so that I've had it. However, in the last month, while trying to connect to my university's networks from the wifi settings screen, it will display "connecting" for a long time, then change to "saved", without successfully connecting to the network. Odd thing is, if I turn the wifi on and off repeatedly, it may connect eventually, with around a 5-15% success rate each try. However, there's also a relatively high chance it will automatically disconnect itself within a few minutes.
The school has three main wifi networks: one is unsecured, while two are secured with exactly the same authentication methods (PEAP + MSCHAPv2) and takes the same login credentials. All three have the same problem when I try connecting. It's not a problem with signal strength, either, since my friends nearby can connect using their phone or laptop without any problems.
Here's what I've already tried to do to fix this:
Asked the school's IT helpdesk
Forget both secured networks so the phone can autoconnect to the unsecured one
Tried wifi diagnostic tools, such as Wifi Analyzer and Wifi Fixer, and tried changing to a better channel
Deselected "back up my data" in the Back Up and Reset settings screen, deleting existing wifi settings from Google's servers
Connect using a static IP address rather than DHCP. Either it has the same Connecting->Saved issue, or says something about "avoided a poor connection"
Did a factory reset, including wiping all user data
The wifi has no problems connecting to my home wireless network, and to most, though not all, other public networks I've tried (same problem as above if it doesn't work).
On a somewhat different note: there are two networks (each of which I've only connected to once at most) that are permanently saved on the list of access points; there's actually no way to forget/delete the network. They even survived the hard resets, and are listed before I link the phone to my Google account. Could this be related to the main issue above?
Is there a fix for this issue? Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Data (Wi-Fi AND Mobile data) issues

Ever since I received my OPX I had little problems with my data, independently of using Wi-Fi or mobile internet (2g/3g).
It started with the fact that in the installation of the phone it couldn't connect to verify it's connection, although wifi was connected correctly.
I started it without the connection it wanted and factory resetted it and then I got the same problem, but after a few minutes it worked correctly and I could install my phone without any problems.
Now when I work with my phone (Whatsapp, 9gag, webrowsing, video streaming) it sometimes stops with loading, like it has lost its connection, but both Wi-Fi and mobile internet are connected.
This is very frustrating when watching video, since it just won't buffer anymore and I have to wait for like 1 minute before it continues and reloading the page helps most of the times, because I then force to get data.
Sometimes when WhatsApp isn't loading/ keeping it's connection I just start a SpeedTest to ensure it has an open connection. This works most of the times.
Also WhatsApp Web keeps losing its connection while the screen is on.
I hope you guys have some ideas on this subject.
I have a similar issue. In my case the device seems to have problems with certain WiFi-Networks (at university to be precise). The connection with the WiFi is still there, but there's no actual connection to the internet sometimes. That's why your mobile data doesn't activate - there are no connection issues on mobile data for me.
The cause for this is probably the lack of a 5GHz WiFi antenna. I don't know why, but my OPX cannot handle the 2.4GHz WiFi at university (at home it works fine!).
So to test this out, you should try different WiFi-Networks. If the network is 2.4GHz only, it should be working.
The WiFi thing while setting up the phone is a known OxygenOS bug and can be worked around.

2 android phones wont connect to wifi with new ISP, worked fine with old ISP

Hi,
Both myself and my wife's phones worked fine with our previous ISP. We have moved to a place that our old ISP does not provide service to, so had to go with another ISP. All of our devices work fine when connected to WIFI except my wife's android phone (Sony Xperia X Compact, latest stock rom) and my old Android phone (Moto G 4G running Lineage OS 14.1).
When either of us try to connect either of these 2 devices to our WIFI, they connect for a couple of seconds, then disconnect. They go through the following steps and then constantly loop
obtaining IP address
connected no internet
connected
saved
disconnecting
Rinse, lather, repeat, they both keep doing this constantly. Both these devices work fine on other networks and worked with my old ISP, so the devices themselves are physically fine, and all the other devices in my home connect to the new ISP's router fine as well.
Ive done the following to try to resolve the issue
Forget network and join again
Renamed device names
Temporarily disabled wireless encryption on router
Made sure Mac filter on router is off
Assigned static IP address to both devices
Cleared cache on google play services
Connected a 2nd router to main router as an access point using a different SSID
Used WIFI analyzer to see what WIFI channel was being used the least in my neighborhood and changed the channel on the router accordingly
Turned airplane mode on and off
Turned device off for 30 seconds then back on
Reset network settings
None of these steps have worked, the only thing I haven't done is factory reset both devices which my wife isn't prepared to do with her device but I might do with mine. Are there any other steps that might resolve this before I pull my hair out ?.
Thanks in advance.
@J0hnick
1. A Factory Reset doesn't take effects on Android's system settings
2. Android by default always tries to connect to near-by Wi-Fi networks you've connected before. Hence you've to remove saved networks ( i.e. Forget network ), then add new new network ( i.e. Add network & Save)
Have you tried restarting the router?
