Now that we have root for our Z3v's... I've been playing around with trying to find/edit the files that control our phones speaker volumes (both in call earpiece volume and speaker phone volume). I don't necessarily need to increase the speaker volume for playing music because most of the time I'm using bluetooth, but I'm sure a lot of people would be interested in that as well.
I'd like to be able to just modify the phones system files rather than use some sort of booster app.
From what I'm been able to find, the file located in /system/etc/ called mixer_paths.xml is what our device uses to control volume parameters. I've seen where other devices have had these types of files modified in order to boost max volumes.
Is this something we can do with our phones? The in call volume, both earpiece and speaker phone are just TOOOO quite for me.
This is about as far as I can comfortably go as I'm not a developer/programmer.
Anyone out there comfortable helping out with this idea? Is it possible.

I also would like to know how to increase the volumes
I think it's almost comical how low the audio levels out of the headphone jack are. I don't know if this can be fixed or what but even playing at full volume it seems too low.

I've been using the Sound Mod from Z3 Development version 3.3 with Dolby Digital Plus (I think it has beast audio) & the volume on the headphones is so loud at the second click up. They even have a way to go back to stock.

I'm using the beast audio mod as well. Good stuff.

Sorry to dredge up an old thread.... You say you're using the sound mod. Did you flash that in recovery?
Checking this out first, just got root today and don't want a shiny new paperweight anytime soon

I did flash the sound mod through recovery but it only boosted speaker volumes, not in call volumes. I used the one without Dolby.

Wow so we can flash .zip files in recovery now? Again just making sure, just rooted and there isn't a ton of info out there for our device atm. Thanks in advance
I flashed it in the dual recovery as well. Just make a backup first because the zip they have to take it back to stock isn't for our phone. In other words if you ever want to go back you should wipe & reload the backup. And make sure you don't install the lollipop version.

Does this mod increase speaker volume in general? Like listening to music?
Hello guys
I wanted to know if there is a MOD for our smartphone to enable stereo sound:
earpiece and speaker simultaneously for better sound.
Thanks
Perhaps the One Plus 3 mod for mono stereo could work. I downloaded it from OPO3 xda subforum but have not tested it since I am running stock non-root firmware
Take a look here, its the first file:

WARNING - MAKE A FULL TWRP BACKUP BEFORE TRYING ! ! !

Already tested, it does not work
I've also tried some things but on stock firmware doesn't seem to work.
I went to the Le Pro 3 forum on XDA and asked for their sound mixer file. I am attaching it here for future reference.
Any news for the mod?
Has anyone gotten stereo sound on the phone?
how is it possible to get stereo mode on a non-stereo device? u have only one speaker

using the ear speacker
It is using front earpiece for media playback. I tried to gain this effect by using SoundAbout, but when i turned media on earpiece there was no sound from speaker, it was unable to use earpiece/speaker at the same time. It will be great if somebody port such mod to our device Waiting for your anwsers, guys.
Hi you can try using shox audio mod for our device , simply Google

Can you share the link pls?
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/themes/audio-mod-hardware-based-best-audio-t3598455
This is for Snapdragon
if you've only taken a view over the threads section of this device you would've noticed that there are already 2 mods regarding your desire, one which is mine, forgotten, based only on earpiece playback, and the other, still actively developed, which has more features and improvements. Good luck flashing.
This mod enables the Earpiece speaker to be used at the same time with the main rear speaker when using listening to music, and watching videos etc...
Updated
Now TRUE STEREO with Earpiece playing the LEFT channel and rear speaker playing the RIGHT channel. Test with app of your choice.

To install open the zip file and extract the "default_gain.conf" file and copy it to "/system/etc/default_gain.conf" using your preferred method.
Then set permissions to rw-r-r or 0644 ( e.g "chmod 0644 /system/etc/default_gain.conf" ) and REBOOT your device.
Volume levels are pushed to maximum possible without distortion with EQ on Earpiece speaker to remove low frequencies. Good luck.
Works on my SM-910K running MarshMallow 6.0.1.
WARNING!!!
THIS HAS ONLY BEEN TESTED ON THE DEVICE MENTIONED ABOVE. MAKE SURE TO BACKUP YOUR DEFAULT "default_gain.conf" FILE BEFORE INSTALLING THE NEW ONE.
(E.g "adb pull /system/etc/default_gain.conf [safe location here]" or "adb shell cp /system/etc/default_gain.conf /sdcard/default_gain.conf.bak" )
To be SAFE DO a NANDroid backup in Recovery.
Happy modding.
NOTE:
If you cannot find "/system/etc/default_gain.conf" file on your device then this MOD will NOT WORK for you. If that is the case you can try the other surround mods for other variants of the Note 4. This has only been tested to work on the N910K.
I created this one because the mods for the other variants didn't work on my phone since it uses the "default_gain.conf" file instead of the 'normal' "mixer_paths.xml" file.

Changelog
v1 -> Initial Dual Speaker Mod
v2 -> Upgrade to true stereo
v3 -> Fix for audio leak through earpiece while Headphone connected
Tried it on my N910F running 6.0.1 and seems like it works, but need to cover the main speaker to hear anything from the earpiece.

If there was a quick ON/OFF toggle you would notice that it makes quite a difference than with it turned off completely. Especially when you receive a notification etc... with your phone lying on a flat surface.
I haven't yet figured out how to manipulate the EQ settings for the front earpiece so that it only outputs mid-treble range without any bass.
Once I do, I'll be able to boost the volume without causing distortion. Otherwise it might damage the earpiece.
Where shoud I found that toogle ?
Actually I didn't find a "default_gain.conf" file in etc,so I just simply copied the one from your mod zip.

If you didn't find a "default_gain.conf" file then the mod definitely won't work. It's not working for you.
Would this work on N910U?
It works on the 910C running Nemesis
Good job OP, this mod on 910C it is been hit and miss with a lot of distortion. This is the best implementation I have used. ?

Then it should be Hardware problem, try hitting back of speak, something it works, if not you need to replace the speaker.
I think it's a software issue because games won't start they crash after the splash screen and the mic crashes Google Assistant and sound recorder

Try flashing other custom ROM. Maybe it will solve your problem.
No you Don't get it it's on EVERY custom rom above 6.0.1 also I tried what you said it didn't work
(Crdroid 5.1 was the one that caused the prob btw)
Had this issue on my e 2015,I downloaded one of those speaker tester apps, and once I got to a high enough MHz sound, the speaker started working
