I bought a Sony SR32UZ 32GB SDHC/SDXC Class10 UHS-I microSD and after formating to adoptable storage and transfering 10GB data to it from my PC(Titanium Backup, songs, documents, few apk) it becomes damaged after a reboot. Previously I had a Kingston 32GB class 10 and worked fine but I forget to format back to removable sd card and after ROM change it become permanently damaged.
The Sony card is damaged but I can format it to try again but it always become damaged after a reboot both with CM13, Resurrection Remix-M and Resurrection Remix-Nougat. Is this a ROM bug or what?:crying:
The old 32GB isn't damaged. It's encrypted and, thus, inaccessible.
Try to format it in recovery or on a PC.
As for the new one, try formating it again.
I tried a hundred times and it looks like Sony card is only usable on custom ROMs with FAT32. I even tried Link2SD method with FAT32 and second partition with ext4 and ext4 got damaged after reboot.
Try to use minitool to allocate all the space to one partition as fat32 or exfat.
I did that. FAT32 works, exfat is damaged after reboot. But you can't install apps on FAT32.
Perhaps, a problem with encryption?
Hard to say though.
Adaptive storage and data encryption were known to have bugs in the past. As for data encryption, I don't think it has been fixed.
That's why I don't use them.
I'm now using Droidmaster's tweaked 5.0.2 ROM and Link2SD with Sony Microsd. 8GB ext4 partition and 21GB FAT32. Did several reboot and Link2SD is still working. Also my Kingston sd card is dead because nothing can format it, tried with everything, EASEUS, Minitool, Gparted, Windows. Even in phone with a paid and a free partitioning app. I think it is safe to say it is dead. Maybe if I get further problems with sd card I will order a Meizu M5 32GB ROM and 3GB RAM because it is very cheap. I love my G2 mini but these sd card things are frustrating also sometimes would be great if it had 2GB RAM.

Hi all, I bought yesterday 32Gb Kingston Class 4 microSDHC card. Now my phone is very unstable with this memory. I mean, sometimes it can't mount it, sometimes it shows its empty, formatting almost hangs phone, some apps hang phone (apps on sd). Looks like the phone doesn't want to eat this big memory too well.
I already tried soft reset, and dalvik cache deleting. Didn't help.
microSD is formatted into Fat32 and 32Kb clusters in windows with HP Formatting tool.
If I try to reformat with phone, nothing seems to happen....
It can work perfectly for a 20min, but if I try to turn many apps on and off, it will reboot. After what it doesn't see apps on SD card. wtf? But after complete reboot, it'll work again for a some time.
I have 2.2 Android from elelinux.
If I use my old 2Gb card, everything works just great.
Any ideas?
P.S
What does this recovery mode SD card formatting? Maybe I should try this one?
I have ClockworkMod Recovery 2.5.0.7. There are some interesting options like..
What ARE these?
1. Format Cache
2. Format SD card
3. Format sd-ext
4. Wipe Cache Partition
P.P.S LOL I can't turn off phone. It is rebooting always. Wtf?

According to the HTC website, our Hero's should support 32GB.
But that's as far as my knowledge on your issue goes. Just ordered a 32GB Class 4 SanDisk card myself, so when its delivered (hopefully Friday) I'll let you know how it performs.
Just an update for you, mine came in the post yesterday and it seems to work fine with my phone. Loaded it with 20gb of music and it runs fine.
Yep should run fine with 32gb sd cart
i'm having many of the same issues with my 32gb. had a 16gb before, and all was well.
now the phone randomly goes back to charge only when i have it plugged into PC as disk drive. i'm having trouble making backups in recovery too as it says its randomly unreadable in the middle of backing up. also, and seemingly most frustrating, is it is refusing to actually transfer files from PC to SD. i will plug in as disk drive and move all files without issue. however, when i eject disk drive and switch back to charge only mode (or simply unplug), none of the files have actually been moved to my device. they are simply missing entirely when i open any file manager.
i've tried everything. formatting on device, formatting through W7 (quick and full), and formatting through the official sdcard.org tool. nothing helps.
Try this
If u have a linux PC, u will know about gparted, I guess.
Do this: boot to ur favourite linux distro. plug the sd card to ur pc using a card reader. open gparted. click tools and then click new partition table. it will wipe everything from the card.
once done, just setup the partitions as u want for fat, ext or whatever. i was having a htc tattoo troubling me with a 16GB card but now its okay.
hi guys,
I partitioned sd card ext with 1GB with FAT32 using mini partion tool
when boot ON the Phone & using with LINK2SD Main sd card & ext sd card showing the same size of 1GB ....
is the problem with ROM ??
I tried with another sd card but the issue is same
i'm using stock rom & 16 GB Sandisk C10 sd card
Pls help me......
Link2SD
The XPERIA X10i running GB 2.3 is a bit problematic with partitions.
The OS only mounts the first partition it finds and that's normally the second partition. Doh!!
The following patch may be of some help to you
SE2.3.3-link2sd-patch.zip
It is assumed you have formatted both partitions as primary.
Everybody should use Link2SD if they have an XPERIA X10, just because most quality class6/class10 cards have better read/write speed than internal flash and with a 1-2GB sdext2 partition more space too.
Considerations
I'd format the second partition as ext3 and 2GB if Link2SD is to be used, especially if a gamer.
I would only use a class6/class10 'quality' 32GB microSD card or greater.
Copy the contents of the /data/sdext2 partition to a NAS/external server
(1) I'd format the partition to be used with Link2SD as ext3 ( I've found on my builds I can't use ext4, but would, if I could ), just because it'll give better performance. In a gaming environment 1GB can be used up pretty quickly if libraries and data are linked too.
(2) The cost of quality class6/class10 microSD cards has really dropped in price now that extreme and extreme pro cards (50MB+ write) are all the rage. It's just a pain having to rebuild a working Link2SD environment onto a larger card at a later date, when a lesser card, no longer meets needs.
But given I'm using a 64GB card, I would say that.
(3) If you copy the contents of the second partition to a linux system /folder it makes a great recovery, as you only have to restore the Link2SD second partition and you get all your apps back, data and all. I copy my /data/sdext2 partition onto my NAS every now and then and it has saved my bacon a few times when microSD/SD cards have gone belly up.
Hello everyone,
My sd card suddenly formatted by itself, and now it's doing me some trouble... It's a SanDisk Ultra 32GB microSDHC and now some apps can't write to it.
What can I do to fix this?
Format it with the SD tool you can download, check the real capacity as there are many fakes sold.
If it's genuine and format doesn't solve the problem then throw it away (or return to seller for warranty).

A known issue of s3 with Sandisk sd. I suggest using the built-in Windows Disk Management tool to completelly delete card's volume (notice that there is a hidden partition of 10Mb in the card, separated from storage partition that should also be deleted- the partision manager should show them both).
After deleting and merging both partitions as one unalocated space, format it all by using exfat method.
A word of procution- I recommend to do this when the micro sd is connected directly to your pc using a sd card reader- just to make sure you won't delete phone's internal sd by accident...
I had had a SanDisc 32 GB class 10 and everything was ok, until the time in which I needed more than 30GB in my HTC Desire X. So, I decided to buy the Kingston microSD 64 GB class 10. Even though our phone has official limit at 32 GB, after googling I noticed that I would not have problem with this card. So I bought it.
From the begin I had a few problems. Very often, about 2-3 times every day, it was required to unmount - mount the card for reading some files or for renaming them.
... it was not big problem for me. But from yesterday, I cannot have access to the sd. I see a message Damaged SD card, SD card is damaged, try reformatting it. And if I try reformatting it, nothing happens. Also in settings - storage I cannot mount the card, and I just see that SD card is unavailable...
What I have to do now? To try a format from windows 7? If so, what format? Fat32, ntfs or something else?
Maybe it is better to use the warranty?
Thank you in advance...
For sdcard, try to format to fat32 (should work either using gparted or windows format tools).
try to format your sdcard with the offical tool from the sdcard association:
https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/
if you wanna format your sdcard the right way, THIS IS THE TOOL TO GO!
The SD Formatter was created specifically for memory cards using the SD/SDHC/SDXC standards
if you still have problems, try to get a replacement from your dealer or sandisk directly.
if that doesnt help, try a different brand like kingston, samsung, etc....
Hello,
I bought tablet Cube i6 with KitKat 4.4.4. I tried split my micro sd SD with MiniTool partition, Easeus partition
or even AParted directly on andorid. Tablet cant see my SD. It is only visible in AParted app.
1. partition I made fat32 second I tried fat32, ext4,3,2 both primary but SD is always invisible on my tablet.
I tried 2 different SD cards, still the same. Some tries give me the second partition works, but first fat32 is not visible.
It seems my tablet can recognize only one partition on SD but why?
I really need that ex4 partition because of not so much free space for apps...
Anyone help?
Thanks!
