HELP!!! - Xperia Z2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My Z2 accidentally got submerged in water, and the water got in the phone. Basically I was in the kitchen while suddenly my phone slipped and fell into the bowl full of water, the charging port flap is very lose so it got open and voila. I've removed the water from the phone but there's still some moisture under the front and back cameras. The phones boots up just fine but the screen flickers a little bit and after 5-10 secs it goes completely black. I just want to know if I keep it off for sometime, and when all the water will evaporate, will it go back to normal or I will have to get it repaired? Thanks
Edit 1: I just found out that the touch screen works even after the display going off soon I tried increasing the brightness to full and the screen started working, although it still flickers a very little. On keeping the brightness on minimum the screen goes off again

Turn off your phone and open the charging and microSD bonnet and put it in rice for at least one day then check it

I don't have any dry rice laying around so I've kept it in the open and it's way too hot here so I guess it'll all dry up

SGS 2(GT-i9100) screen problem

Hello everyone!
I have a Galaxy 2 gt-i9100t fell into the water.:crying:
I opened it up and made it a thorough cleaning a few times with alcohol and corrosion cleaner and I assembled it back.
I tried to turn on the device but no response on the screen and no lights near the home button and it did not make a sound when it runs, but when I connect to the computer it shows me the detection of Samsung Android in whondareshare software.
I installed a new screen and still no lights back and menu buttons and the screen does not turn on but the power is turned on and shows detection software.
How do I solve this problem?
Is it possible to turn on usb debugging without seeing the screen?
Thanks to everyone who helps!:good::good::good:
(Sorry if I passed the rules)
Your meant to dry it out in rice for a week at least, and its still probably goosed.

I didn't use the rice.
The device has dried for over a week and only after that I cleaned it well and still have the problem I described.

[Q] Screen froze, cannot shut down

Dear Sirs,
my Omate Truesmart's screen froze completely at the settings screen after I tried to reenable bluetooth. Now the screen is on and the buttons are not working (tried holding them for a minute) so I cannot power it off in any meaningful way. I have no tiny screwdrivers here (on vacations).
Does anyone know any way to shut down this device without dismantling it?
Or do I have to wait for the battery to discharge completely?
I have seen such absurd situation on no other device yet so far..
All best.
So how did it go? Battery empty and now up and running again?
I had the same with my device. I did had the tiny screwdriver at hand and removed the battery. Now the back lid won't fully close...

Exactly, the ghost left the watch after a few hours, and now it works again.
I thought to put it on the sun to overheat the CPU and trigger the reboot, but then - it might never wake up
So, the bottom line is - always carry watchmaker's tools in your pocket!
Cheers

Nah, leave the lid as long as you can. Like I said, mine won't fully close now. One drop of water in the wrong place and it's is bye bye TS.

[Q] proximity sensor issue after phone got wet

phone got wet and started bootlooping when I plugged it into a charger. I dried the phone out by putting it in uncooked rice and it now works fine except that when i make or receive a call the screen goes dark. Proximity sensor finder reports last distance as zero and the reading doesn't change when I put finger over proximity sensor or take it off. Is this a hardware problem?

Have you tried to pull it away and look at it? Cause even during a call my screen stays dark but when I pull away it comes back on.

Camera Flash LED stuck at ON after water accident

I dropped my phone in bucket full of water :crying: and now the Rear Camera LED is stuck at ON. I have had dried the phone immediately after the accident using hair dryer. Also, kept phone in the rice bag for 24 hours. Everything else works fine including camera but the LED does not switch OFF at all. Even the battery drain did not help. The LED stays ON even if Phone is switched OFF. Looks like there is direct connection to the LED from battery. I have also tried switching OFF/ON using 'Torch/Camera' apps. Nothing worked for me so far. I am afraid to take it to service center as they may detect water ingress and void the warranty. For now I have put tape over the LED but would love to hear about any suggestion/resolution or reason.
Try to heat the led a little bit and do pressure with your finger on it, maybe you can replace the false contact then
Gave it a shot using hair dryer again and pressed the led a bit...No success. Thanks for suggestion though.
Today discovered that GPS is not working as well. Looks like time to bite the bullet and take it to service center

Help! I don't know if my water damaged Sony Xperia Z2 is still functioning.

Backstory: It's been 2 years when I had water damaged my phone. The whole device was completely filled with water. The
phone went dead. I shook most of the water off via micro usb and sim card slot. That's when I realised both of my camera
lens were fogged inside, I tried to open up the glass back of the phone (to remove the battery and dry them up).
Unfortunately, the glass back was shattered but still mostly in place as it was glued tightly. I have no choice but to ditch
my phone and kept it in my desk. After years of ignorance, I finally went back to check out to find out that the lens are dry
(all of the water might as well have been evaporated. I charged it. Surprisingly, the notification light lit in red. After charging
it for 2 hours, I decided to power on the phone.
Issue : The display seemed dead, but I managed to take a few screenshots using -vol + power button. Just by listening to the sound of the
screenshots I took, I don't know if my phone is considered to be fully functioning (minus the LCD screen).
Can someone please tell me if my phone is still working fine as it can emit sound because I'm considering replacing the LCD screen
Put your phone in a rice tub with all the flaps opened and let it wait there for 1-2 days, the water should be gone completely.
